Please post links to craigslist ads in which the seller appears to be advertising items that infringe on the copyright of others or attempts to scam potential buyers. Video game related postings are preferred, but related postings are welcome. It's difficult to flag and rid craigslist of these morons, but an army of flaggers can make a difference.




Please let me know if there is anything else that anyone else wants to add. I would also be cool with merging this thread with the More Craigslist Stupidity thread. Thanks.

As far as procedure is concerned, please denote or erase postings that are no longer working (otherwise known as success).
I'm going to try and keep all of my posted links on this post specifically and will begin erasing craigslist postings once they are eliminated.

He wants us to post scammers links and everybody here to flag them. It takes more then one person to close a post, and it appears the OP's link is already done for.
 
i dunno seems like it's way more effort than it's worth. it's not as if these scam posts stay up anyway. just flag and go. they're annoying but craigs list is designed that way.
 
this is sorta what i'm talking about.. i went to the tucson posts prepared to flag them and they're already gone. hasn't been 12 hours yet.
 
Damn it. I want to do some flagging. If you guys want to see BUTTLOADS of illegal ads, go to LA or any major city's games/toys and electronics section and search for modded, modding, etc. Or just search for PSP. It's ridiculous.

I wouldn't go after modders just for modding. When they include IP's that don't belong to them as some kind of incentive...well...that's a different story.

Just thought I'd note that the author the weird PSP Membership site has begun pulling ads. I don't know if they finally thought to themselves "you know what, being a grade-A asshole just isn't for me" or it's possible that the ads weren't staying up long enough to be effective. Either way, it's a good feeling.
 
Anyone know of any good contacts to report some of these asshats? I've tried checking some of the copyright infringement sources at Nintendo and Sony, but haven't come up with anything solid. I'm especially looking for some good contact info with the ESA or any other group associated with the developers and publishers. I'm asking because I've found a few postings which also list phone numbers (stupid stupid stupid) which can easily identify most of these "anonymous" jackasses from the start.

If I didn't mention it earlier, I personally don't believe that copyright infringement on older (almost damn near impossible to find as well) games is the end of the world, but that is a philosophy and not a call to action. However, when the ignorant craigslist users of the world try to use IP that doesn't belong to them (or is not licensed to them) in order to justify the perceived "value" of their items, then they've crossed the line.

Finally, I've updated the first post with a couple more posts in need of flagging. If you guys have any suggestions about this thread, I'd definitely be interested in your ideas. Thanks again for the help so far.:bouncy:

they end up in either. you basically have to check both. if i had to pick, personally i'd say Games and Toys is more appropriate considering that while all video games are in fact "Games", not all of them are "Electronics".
 
see now I'd go the other way for the exact opposite reason. video games are always electronics but they aren't always games/toys.

I have 116 games for sale or trade. They are all legal games. The only thing is that you need custom firmware to play the games. I ripped all the games to a ISO file so I wont need to carry around a bunch of UMD cards. They all work perfect and they have been tested. You can find custom firmware at www.psp-hacks.com. Im asking 50 for all the games. You would need a external hard drive or a laptop with 30gb of free space to get them. Let me know if you have any questions or if you would like a list.

This guy is just out of hand.. Every day he posts his adds .. If you post an add video game related he instantly flags it... He also pays dirt for games and has flat out threatened me.. Saying, "if I keep posting adds that I will find myself on the wrong side of the greatest deal I ever had just to meet up with a big pissed off Mexican..." If you guys could help out and please flag this guy, or message him, he really needs some people to mess with him

As you can see he is almost everyday. I like to occasionally post an ad and let it run it's course but this guy is just ridiculous.. With his constant posting, flagging, and threatening.. Flag him or give him a call.. His number is below:
