This is a small taste of the customers I deal with at work. I answer Ebay questions at a comic book store (aka customer service).

This woman lives in the UK. She bought a clock that we make and we shipped it out a few days after she paid, but she has yet to receive it. Once in a while a package will be legitimately lost in the mail, or sometimes with international packages they take a while to clear through customs. Anyways I tell the woman this countless of times as she bombards me with harassing emails and messages. I send her the delivery confirmation and try to help her out but she just doesn't read my messages. I assume she thinks that the, "Ask Seller a Question," link reads, "YELL IN ALL CAPS HERE." Here's a few of her messages:

This is my 5th e-amil to you about this item.
It was NOT
received as up to date and already passed 36 days from time you had been
paid for it.
I demand a precise explanation and date of delivery prior
to Christmas as it's a present for a very sick little
boy.

Another one:

I PAID YOU ON 5TH NOVEMBER AS UP TO DATE I HAD NOT RECEIVED IT SO YOUR DAFT 5 - 6 DAYS EXCUSE IS A LIE AND RATHER STINKS !!!
IF IT NOIT ARR9VES FOR A LITTLE BOYS CHRISTMAS GIFT ( TO BE HERE ON MONDAY
of 23rd Dec 2007 ) then a immediate Full ASAP.
This Refund is a must - I don't want to report this to Pay Pal or Ebay as yet.
Thank you - I don't like - disorganised, negligent and caring less ( BUT CASHING MY MONEY straight away ) Traders

She's literally crazy, she doesn't read my responses. She just puts on capslock and goes to town. Here's the latest:

You had send me e-mail saying that takes 5-6days to arrive in UK (?)From
14th Nov 2007(day when you HAD been paid for)had passed well over
48-50days.
This item is STILL NOT received.Due to your negligence &
dishonesty(as seen 83 BAD FEEDBACKS in 12 months against you so the
NEGATIVE Feedbacks are CORRECT on your 'ebay' Record).Because of you an
very sick young boys(last)Christmas(he's very desperately ill-sick) was
ruined & destroyed by you as his Christmas Present (he had chosen from me
to buy for him) was not received as up to today 2nd Jan 2008.How can you
live with yourself being so dishonest and cruel to disabled,sick buyers
world wide?Don't you have any shame doing such brutal thefts from us -
disabled,sick & vulnerable people who are being'ebay'buyers placing our
trust in you(equaly in America)? We had trusted you as other did to when
paying up front(cat in a bag) by
buying from you purely trusting in your
honesty as an'American Citizen' No more trust left.

What the fuck is "cat in a bag?" I wanted to help this woman out, I'd even send her a new clock at this point but after that last message she isn't getting shit. I want to respond to her by just telling her off but it's probably better just to ignore her. But just for fun, how would you respond?

She bought it back in November and we shipped it out a couple days later. I guess I didn't make that clear sorry.

I wouldn't buy from someone with 83 negitives in 12 months. Sorry but. hhmmmm the feedback says you suck. How many did you send out? 85? YOu wouldn't get my money. Or maybe you shouldn't send out of the states or canada. I bought something for a christmas present that came from hong kong. I think they had a little chinesed man row a paddle boat over here from china as the item took 6 months to get. Had to buy my dad A DIFFERENT PRESENT. Cool thing was I got to keep it when it did get here. :)
 
I'm actually wondering why it has beeen almost 2 months and the buyer does not have their item. Am I missing something? If it got lost in the mail, then doesn't the sender have to make a complaint with the shipping company?

I could be just lost here, but it seems like she has a valid reason to be pissed.

Dude is she lying about your feedback or did you really managed to get 83 negs in one year ... hell even ebay mega sellers with 10,000+ feedback dont get that much in a year.

Sorry but you must be doing something wrong ... you dont have to worry about any of us here buying anything from you on ebay thats for sure.

edit: reading the first sentence again .. lol you work for a store base on ebay? ... still that means your store sucks then.

Yeah, I'd be pretty pissed too if I paid for a Christmas gift 6 weeks in advance and still hadn't gotten it! So she might be crazy, but she's not THAT crazy!

That poor little sick boy doesn't know what time it is...and can't wake up on time...
 
The cat in bag refers to the practice in past of merchants (crooks) selling pigs to eat in sacks to people for a low price and later when the person opens the sack a (not so tasty) cat is inside. The seller would be long gone at that point and someone had been ripped off. I think I found this on snopes.com and it does kind of make sense. :roll:

Yeah, that is what I had read too.

I suspect it is a countdown clock of some type. :lol:

Did you use some type of trackable shipping? That should straighten it out...
 
Um, if I would have paid for an item and it didn't arrive after a month I would want an explanation also. And the canned / scripted "sometimes things get lost or held up" wouldn't be enough.

After 30 days I think that someone at your store / shop should have been trying to track down the package and find out what was going on. So you could have a better answer then you did.

And actually she was being nice by not asking PayPal to refund her money to her.
 
yea this lady isnt crazy. she just wants an item that she paid for. you said u have a delivery confirmation #. so you can see if it got delivered or not.

That was the joke I was thinking.

And no this isn't my ebay account, this is just the company I work for. We average about 6 or so negatives compared to 1100+ postives per month. We have so many from before because I just recently took over as customer service. Prior to that things were pretty bad. It's just an independent company trying to make things work. Once in a while things sell and they don't get delisted just because there is so much stuff to do, but we're working a new system. (I'll contact them and ask if they want something else or a refund) That's what normally results in negatives. That and when people give us the wrong address and try to tell us that we've scammed them. (Seriously you live at the place you should know the address.)

As for the delivery confirmation number, I've provided it to her numerous of times and she's just ignored everyone of my messages. As I said, I would normally have the company take a loss and ship out another item but this lady is being such a cunt that I've decided not to.

In the interest of customer service, you should just send her the replacement.

Actually, if your company was willing to send a replacement in the first place, it should've been done much earlier (with the appropriate delivery confirmation, etc). That would've saved you and her at least a little more time/hassle.

Unfortunately, complaints and such are the cost of doing business, but I understand the frustration as I used to work in the customer service side a long time ago.
