just to reflect upon some others mentioned about shipping speed, just got in my deus ex guide on 8/30 and ordered on 8/24. so for 6 days that is pretty good.

Just pre-ordered from the BookDepository (UK) site. I'd prefer to use my Amazon credit, but I'm not sure how likely it will be for Amazon to offer a discount (I don't think they had a discount for the Deus Ex CE guide).
Well, if you plan on purchasing Dark Soul's at release you can order the guide from the UK site, then it will take a week or two for it to get to you.
Exactly! That's my plan. I figure I will look at the CE mini guide and by the time the full thing shows I will either be ready for help or have gotten past the point where I feel like I have to look.

I preorderd one and I cant wait to get it. Im kind of sad because I dont think i will ever be this excited for a game or book in my life again. Its all downhill from here. But its the downhill of the tallest roller coaster in the world.

According to Future Press' Facebook page, there will only be 1 edition of the Dark Souls guide and MSRP is $24.99?

Please correct me if I'm reading their post wrong, but now $22.xx from the Book Depository doesn't seem as great as a deal if I can get it from my local Gamestop for just $2 more and not worry about shipping times (other than, you know, supporting Gamestop).

Agh that sucks. Already ordered from BD. Would have waited and ordered from Amazon. Wonder if I can cancel.

Might want to keep your BD preorder, Amazon still doesn't have any info about ordering this guide:

http://www.amazon.com/Dark-Souls-Of...0489/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1315350848&sr=8-2

EDIT: Gamestop does have it for preorder @ 24.99:

http://www.gamestop.com/strategy-guides/dark-souls-official-strategy-guide/93066

But I'd rather support BD than Gamestop. So I'll let my preorder with BD stand.

The guide is less than a month away from coming out, surprised Amazon doesn't have more on it yet especially since even Gamestop has it.

If amazon gets it i'll re-order my copy through them since it will ship faster and I have credit there.

I'm keeping my BD order and maybe picking one up on release day from gamestop. Looking at future press guides of the past, it seems I am guaranteed to at least get my money back.

I'm keeping my BD order too. I only get these guides for collecting purposes. It's easier for me to get help from online, since my PC and PS3 share same monitor.

Thanks for posting that Amazon has a pre-order up. Don't understand what the point of signing up for Amazon to notify me when it's available is when they don't even bother to email me. . .

Just went to GameStop to preorder the guide since it is 24.99 there as well. I was notified that I will get 20% off because I'm getting the game and guide. So GameStop will actually be the cheapest for around $20, plus they are doing a midnight sale so I will get it a lot quicker.

I was curious whether the 10% off when buying a game with its guide would stack with the 10% PUR discount for strategy guides, and I was told that it would, so that's awesome. :D

This way I can get both Dark Souls and the guide with GS credit and not pay anything out of pocket. \\:D/
Its only 17.76 on book depository now... free shipping anywhere.
Thanks for this update. Got an order in at BD for $18. I don't mind waiting a bit, just want one to use in case I need to find rare items (which I will).

Thanks that's a damn good price. I've placed an order for one at $17.76 and sent an email to cancel my previous order that was 22.26. Hopefully they'll cancel.

I emailed them to adjust my price to $18.10 before the 5% discount, which would make it $17.20 for me.

If they drop it to $17.76 before the discount, and $16.87 after the discount, all the better.

The 5% discount link no longer works, BTW.

Even with the new price, I'd like to have the guide when I'm playing the game, not after I've beat it. That's worth $7 to me.

i am just going to wait and see how good/bad the free digital mini guide is going to be. and if I need something to hold in my hand I will walk down to the local BB and get it.

The main reason I don't like the idea of a full size guide is that it seems like a lot of work to flip through, unlike the small guide i got with demon's souls. It seems like the same amount of effort to just load up the netbook.

Hopefully they'll let us, per their FAQ:
"The price of my pre-ordered book has dropped, can I receive a refund for the difference?
Sadly we are unable to offer restrospective refunds once an order has been placed and the sale price agreed between ourselves and the customer. However, pre-orders can be cancelled as long as they have not yet been shipped to customers."

I tried contacting BD to get an adjustment, but they couldn't do it so they cancelled my order. Guess I'll just re-order then.

I don't know why they can't just give a partial refund back on the card, it would make things easier..

Yep, same thing happened to me, probably has something to do with them charging cards as soon as the order is placed instead of waiting to charge until the order ships.

Same for me following the posted link. Use this link instead then click through to the site.

Hopefully they dont have a problem canceling orders. I'll post as soon as they get back to me on it. I paid using paypal if that will matter at all.

Edit: and they had already replied within 30 minutes of me emailing, just checked my email. Their response:
"We have cancelled your order for you as requested and refunded you in full; please allow 1-3 working days for this to show on your account."

Checked my paypal account, already properly refunded. Now that's how to run a business.

After using this link, my order total was still $17.72. Was there supposed to be an additional 10% discount?

After the hassle I had with the deus ex guide taking 3 weeks to get here and banged up on the side, I don't think I will be reordering from BD. I also assume since it's future press it will be a little different from their NA version (writing on spine backwards for European markets and European ISBN) so I think I'm sticking with the amazon. My amazon deus ex just came in and it is in immaculate condition. Very happy with it.

I hoped there would be a physical strategy guide, as the Demon's Souls guide was invaluable. Thanks Ionotropic!

Pre-Ordered from Book Depository for $18.10 shipped.

So are NA Dark Souls CE copys not getting a physical mini guide? I thought it turned out to just be Euro version.

I bet the mini guide is some garbage since Namco is doing it now. I hate Namco now a days, they arent good for anything but pool supplies.

I dont want to preorder this guide unless the mini guide really is mini in information. Man... hardcover Dark Souls guide..... alluring to say the least.

Only thing physical is the artbook and tin sleeve, rest is DLC with a code.

No I think with the 10% off it should be $17.76.

I guess you're referring to Book Depository. May ask why?
How is the condition of their books for anyone who purchased from BD before?

(My Deus EX guide from Zavvi has a scratch down the middle. Like somone ran a knife on it.)

does anyone know if this is gonna be diff from the us version (since its from the UK atm?) i heard futurepress' UK version usually has teh name on the spine go backwards?

Because if they drop the price they don't correct it, you have to cancel and reorder and because they're based in the UK, I get fees on my card (40 to 50 cents) for transferring to a different currency each time I have to cancel and re-order due to a lower price, even when ordering from the .com website and they've dropped the price two times already.
