Dark Souls (Project Dark) - October 4, 2011
Does anyone if there's an update coming soon?
Someone linked some leaked notes I think. Supposed to fix the infinite items and make changes to how ring of fog/tranquil walk of peace work in PvP. So, if true, they're just catering to carebears who don't want to learn2PvP without targeting and making it more annoying to grind souls when making characters for PvP.

The bed of chaos boss is the most annoying boss in the game, in my opinion. I get to the first branch fine, but getting to the second one takes many tries because he constantly knocks me into holes.

Jodou, could you list boss tips and strats in a separate spoiler? Also list what they're weak against, like lightning or fire or magic or something? I would've had no idea Prowling Demon is weakest against lightning, save for the book.
Gwydonlyn's souls is used on 3 items.....

Won't be seeing plat until n+++

Might just migrate over to Batman:AC
What's the third item? All I know of is the bow and the catalyst.
Soul of Gwyndolin
Dark Moon Bow (Upgraded from +10 Bows)
Dark Bishop' Staff of the Moon (cane-based derivation (No need strengthening?))
Tin Dark Moon Catalyst (Upgraded from Sorcery Catalysts)

http://translate.google.com/transla...or.jp/project_dark/d/%B0%C5%B7%EE%A4%CE%B5%DD
There is no mention of that on the page you linked to. I doubt it actually exists considering no one has ever said anything about it before. There's only the bow and the catalyst.

Went to fight the gargoyles tonight, reverse hallowed first, died on the 2nd one when it was almost dead :( Assuming that means it didn't count for saint whatever when I went back and killed (since I had no more humanity to reverse with).

I seriously can't beat Giant Ornstein for the life of me. He does way too much damage, I can't dodge his attacks since his range is huge, I can't block for very long since his hits are so strong and take off tons of stamina. I usualoy can manage to kill Smaugh pretty fast, but this is really pissing me off.

Should I wait until I have better weapons? I'm lvl 129, I'm usiung Lightning Spear & Dragon crest shiedl, I usually throw tons of fireballs to kill Smough.

i really don't understand how you're losing? since you're fighting him as a giant you were able to beat 2 of them. orstein uses a spear which means he's really weak to rolling to the side. just learn when his hits happen, use the invincibility frames of your roll, and stab him in the shins.just run away when he's charging up his thrust but really at level 129 you could just tank him. dupe some more souls (i cannot imagine you legitimately made it to anor lando at 129) and upgrade your pyro thing to max level, cast iron flesh on yourself and start spamming combustion. he's weak to fire and resistant to lightning.

question on the depths

is there anything worth while there for a sorcerer or should i skip down the slide to the boss?

i had a bad run in with those curse mobs and i dont really want to farm 3k souls again to curemyself so seen a vid with a coolside right to the boss and jsut going to skip to there=p

Finally beat the fucker. Get really close to him and roll when he attacks, for most of his pokes and swings he'll miss you completely. Make sure he's not doing his super lightning charge impale move, or his lightning butt stomp.

Theres a pyro teacher against one of the pillars in lower blight.

Also a Miracle you're gonna need for a trophy

Been trying to farm souvenir of reprisals for the past few hours. I've only gotten 1 so far. This is going to drive me crazy.

Maybe I should have complained earlier. The second I posted this, I got a second one. Only 6 to go...

Made my way to the twin gargoyles tonight, that's a rough fight.
After many deaths I feel like I finally started getting the hang of it.
I got them both to around 10-15% and then walked off the edge because my target flew over my head back and forth and spun me around :(

Edit: Might just have to farm for humanity so I can summon the knight for some help.

Made it to NG+. I was going through the forest with the guys who jump off the ledge. I had a consistent stream of someone invading my game every 30 seconds. After about 15 minutes I ended up against two people, one spamming firestorm and another guy who took only 13 damage when I hit him with my Lightning Pole and I had almost no spells/flasks left so I just jumped off the side so I could just come back for my souls/humanity.

I immediately joined the covenant as I saw the same guys at least 7 times so hopefully its as good Covenant for consistent PVP. I was never able to find anyone with that Blue Orb in my 1st game.

Eh, the whole point of my guide was to give a tour of what you need to do and when. The official guide, youtube, and wiki provide plenty of strategy for killing them, plus I prefer developing my own strats for boss killing.

OK, so once again the guide is fucking WRONG. If you want the soldier trophy, go to PS3trophies for a comprehensive list of what you need because Channeler's Trident (told you so Chibi :p) IS on the list. Last night I verified I had everything on the list from the guide and the trophy did not pop. At first I was furious and thought my shit was bugged since patch 1.3 was supposed to address this exact issue. Then I checked online and lo-and-behold there are a ton more weapons you need for the trophy that have been confirmed. Sigh, this pretty much means I need to revise my guide and add all this shit in (thanks FutureCocks). Worse still is I'm now in NG+++ and farming the trident would have been sooooooooooooo much easier in my first playthrough, since I could practically two-shot channelers back then. At least you can farm it in Duke's Archives, but oh wait: that means I now have to clear the Abyss for a third time. THANKS AGAIN FUTURECRAP!

/rant

Lol, well for all my rage I did get some amazing PvP last night clearing to the Giant Blacksmith to make my final Sif item. One dude invaded me while I was trying to figure out what weapon I was missing for the trophy and he sent me a message after 5 minutes asking where I was. At this point, I decided to troll the fuck out of him and I used chameleon to stay hidden. After half an hour of him searching, he finally came to where I was so I cast Tranquil walk and proceeded to four-shot him. OMG the rage mail was amazing. I can just imagine him smashing his controller dying like that after searching for half an hour. Lol he even tried to invade with the black eye orb to see if I was in there killing Lautrec, because I got a message that it failed once he died. Think I had 10 invaders while I was just smashing through NG+++ in a speed run and I'm 10-0 so far. :D

Anor Londo is a hotbed for PvP BTW. I don't know what it is about that place but half my invaders all come from there.
Got my 10, beat the painted world and got the miracles trophy. Time to call it a night.
Yeah, it's not a bad grind at all once you get a rhythm going. Far cry from what Pure Bladestone was anyway.
Made it to NG+. I was going through the forest with the guys who jump off the ledge. I tried everything to get that blue orb to work and it always failed. Their sinning system seems largely broken too because I checked the book after leaving maybe a dozen covenants and killing a bunch of fire keepers + Gwyndolin and my sin was: 1. Lol, can't imagine what the top guy with 315 or so sin did because it seems like it's impossible to piss people off at this rate.

I only hate the fact you need to equip a ring to PvP in the forest covenant, since you're already at a disadvantage by being the invader. What, being in the covenant isn't enough? Really bad design for a PvP mechanic.
Jodu, where does your guide live? I went about five pages back, and don't see a link.
Heh, it's actually nine pages back now; post 800.
Oh, shit it is all in one post! I was thinking it was a page on a site. Well thanks for the hard work, cheers.
NP, and it's somewhat incomplete while I revise my word copy since there's a lot more rare weapons out there not listed in the official guide. I actually just found out about a weapon I had no idea existed since you need to be in the forest covenant to get it or it's a drop from those spear demons in Anor Londo.

Speaking of the official guide, has anyone used theirs so much that the lacquer has started to separate from the spine at the folds? Future Unimpressed is more like it lol.
Since the pdf became available i dont think ill ever use it again lol
Smart idea, but at that point I'd probably have just wiki'd everything. I've had to get answers to my questions there for a lot of stuff the guide doesn't cover anyway.

Once you feel like it's wrapped up, you should totally submit to it PS3Trophies.org (or help them fix up whatever trophy guide they already have). Tons of people use that site and your hard work should be spread to the masses (and you deserve credit for it).

Personally, I'm just now at Andor Londo in NG (got there at level 40 I think?). I was doing great, working my way through with no deaths, and then of course I
examined the painting and got warped to the painted world. No idea that would happen, lol. I just got through there, though (chose not to kill the boss but I should probably go back and do that before NG+).
So I'm back in Andor Londo and still having a blast with the game, not frustrated much lately which is nice.

I actually don't have an account there, I just lurk. I'll review the roadmap they made, but I don't think it accounts for a perfect playthrough like mine does. Of course, wouldn't have even needed said guide if Future Press had organized theirs better.
Channeler's Trident (told you so Chibi :p)
:( Guess I need to get me one of those. I guess the guide's also missing the crescent axe? I ran into Patches last night in the catacombs and killed him, so no problem there.
I think I realized the other night that the trophy probably requires any item that you uses a nonstandard item to upgrade it: twinkling/demon tritanite or dragon scales.

Although, if that's true, the guide says the drops from the giant blacksmith and Vamos are hammers that are upgraded with twinkling.

Yeah, the axe is on there and luckily I'm such a completionist that I always just buy anything I don't have already so a lot of stuff I would be missing I already have. I deep down kind of knew the guide had to be wrong because it just didn't make sense when the first game practically required anything that wasn't vendor bought for the soldier trophy. It was such an odd collection that just didn't add up. Whatever, there's only two weapons I know for sure stand between me and the platinum so I'll grind it out tonight.

You ninja editor. . .surprisingly, the Blacksmith's Hammer I think it is from Vamos, isn't on the list. What the Giant Blacksmith sells, is however. Come to think of it, I don't think anything that is dropped from a vendor NPC is on the final list. What does concern me is I know there's a Blackbow of Pharis or something like that and it's not on the list. In fact, I've no idea where to get it (somebody told me it's off that phantom knight you first encounter in Darkroot Garden after opening the seal, but he doesn't respawn and I never got it) and if it turns out that's another one then I'm about to say fuck it.

Alright good, so you can confirm that list pops the trophy? Demon's Spear (thank god I joined Forest Hunters last night) and Channeler's Trident are all I need then, woot!

Ya, it popped for me last night.

Good timing. I was in the forest when I read this, so I joined the coven and got myself the spear too. I would have never noticed that I needed it if I didn't see this post.

I've beaten Sif and the Moonlight Butterfly for the second time now. All I need is to kill Gwyndolin and the Gwyn a second time and Sif a third. (and the channeler's trident)

I also need to get the normal, crystal and magic upgrade trophies.

Nice. Just got the plat and you know what's crazy? I got it on my two-year anniversary of the Demon's Souls plat WITHIN THE SAME HOUR. Spooky.

Anyway, I can definitely confirm Channeler's Trident as required. Best farm spot I found was the second bonfire after moving the bookcase and from there, running up the staircase, take a left, then circle around to the right until you're at the 2nd level. There's a channeler here and if you make sure to have the stairs facing this way every time, a second one at the top of the rotating stairway. Just farm those two and for me it took close to 40 kills for one to drop it.

Man, I really want to start Batman but I just know as soon as I get BF3 I'm not going to play anything else. At least, not until Skyrim.

How would you suggest killing the channelers? The moonlight greatsword is my weapon of choice, but it does magic damage and barely touches them. And of course they teleport around and piss me off.

Edit: Nevermind, homing crystal soulmass was able to take them down in about 2, and I got the trident after about 4 or 5 channelers.

Took my time with Seath since he was only doing 2-4 bars of damage each hit.
Cut off the tail and when he started thrashing with the stump, it fell through the ground- no sword.

Last time something like that happend was in Sen Fortress with the Mimic that drops a Lightning Spear.
I shot him with an arrow, he popped up, turned right and dropped down into the hole under the mini elevator.

I whole seath's tail sucks.

On top of him spinning around like a top you have to cut off the very tip of the tail. I just cut off the tip and didn't get the sword. i feel like majority of the people who were able to get it had help.

I think you didn't get it just because you didn't look hard enough.

On that note, I just got my second moonlight greatsword.

thanks for rubbing it in.

You were able to get it all on your own on N+?

I cut off the very tip of his middle tail and didn't get, so I thought you had to wait for him to be dead for it to appear.

When does it appear? Right after you cut it off or after you kill him?

Just would be good to know so i could just let him kill me if it doesn't pop up after you cut it off.

This is the third time I've told you. The sword is a little glowing dot in the end of the tail that you cut off. The tail itself does NOT turn into the sword.

I honestly don't know how I got the tail cut off. I was behind him shooting homing crystal soulmass and his tail just popped off. I wasn't even trying to do it.

I've been through that level like more then 20 times, baited him to the middle so it can open up and expose his middle tail. Never noticed a light on his tail. All the guides I've read just say to chop off the tip of the middle tail.

both times you've got it was by "accident" by shooting him with magic from behind. Nice maybe I'll try that and get lucky.

You know how when you kill an enemy, sometimes they drop an item, and the item is shown as a glowing spot on the body? That's how the moonlight greatsword works. When you cut off the tail, a glowing spot appears on the end of the cut off part of the tail.

And the first time, I didn't get it by accident, I had help to get it.

almost done with the depths . killed those cursed frog $$$s and found a neat ring and killed the sorcerer guy making the dragon harder. just got to get a tial kill run (been having trouble killing his tail!)and im off to the next death.:)

havn't had much time recently with batman and my friends wanting to play gears hehe.

Wow once you upgrade Quelaags blade to +5, it's beastly.

Easy to farm Demon Titanite from the Titanite Demon that respawns in Demon Ruins. Way too easy to get them there.
