Yeah, same here.
Honestly, I think you shouldn't really use the master key in your first playthrough, but if you're going for the platinum, you
really need the master key.
Skipping the depths and blighttown on subsequent playthroughs saves many hours of annoyance.
How can you skip these areas? You mean you just don't have to go there in NG+? How does having it in the first game keep you from having to go there in NG+?
Doesn't it also get you that shield everyone uses? I know I keep running into doors I can't open (I did get the Residence key).
I think I will start over. I guess I'll try that all 11 stat character dude, though it might be tough at the beginning with a club and no armor

.
I have a question about that, though. Is he really better stat wise? What I mean is yeah, he has a slightly higher number of stat points, but he is also already level 6 so that means less easy leveling points early on. I'm guessing it all balances out. I do like a DEX build though for winged spear/bow (as I played in Demon's Souls). That's why I picked Wanderer.
As for the stupid effing key, I just assumed I'd be able to get it later and that it was just a "bonus" starter thing. I figured the first merchant would sell it. I didn't realize it effected huge portions of the game and got you nice gear to boot. Maybe I'll do the thief so I can get that
and the tiny being ring, which gave me a nice HP boost.
