Picked up Billy Hatcher (in-store pickup) and Kirby (shipped).

Fire Emblem was OOS.

I just picked up Wrath last month for $19.99 and Pac-Man Collection for $14.99 (PM'd down to $9.50 thanks to TRU having it at $9.99).

Proof that even when you think you have a deal, there's always a better deal out there.

And further proof that BB needs to get their head out of their ass on shipping. $25 from CC gets free shipping, BB just stiffs the customer on shipping. More incentive to do instore pickup, I suppose. Even if they did $50 for free shipping, I'm sure I'd find things to get it up to that point.

im guessing it was because i couldnt pick it up in store and they said i could. i just got an email that said this....

all i ordered was billy hatcher. i have about a half hour drive out to school and BB was is on the way, so i was going to pick it up in store but they didnt have it. so im guessing its because i couldnt pick it up in store and if they lose my business, BB will cease to exist :roll:

I missed out on fire emblem>.< but i did pick up billy hatcher. I coulda got kirby but=/ that can wait to be bought way later on.

For some, yes. Their inventory system isn't exactly top notch. I bet a straw wrapper I get a back-order notice for Fire Emblem, as I ordered it right before it became SOLD OUT. ;)

All of the items put up by the OP are deleted SKU's. For those of you that don't know what that entails, it is:

* Might be restocked at the store, though chances are extremely slim. Most likely never.
* It might be restocked on the website, though chances are slim, but it's not impossible.
* It's been discounted to some low price (normally $4.99 or $9.99) to blow it out from the warehouse side of things.

Chances are, we won't see any more copies in-store ever again, and maybe never from the website.

And yes, the website still has inventory issues where it might report the item in-stock at all nearby stores when it's not. Happens a lot more with deleted SKU's than non-deleted SKU's. Bitch to them if you think this is crap. Which I've done.
 
It's official - Best Buy hates me. I go to the B&M and there's no more copies of Fire Emblem. There is, however, a copy of Advance Wars 2 which has been $5 for a while now. I get a price check on it, and it's back up to $20.

THAT is a suck. I was lucky enough to get AW 2, but no Fire Emblem for me. then again, I'm sure someone who's got an extra copy would find something in my trade list ;)
 
i was going to pick up Kirby and billy but ended up just with FIre since i want to save my money for 30% off Ebgames and the TRU deal

There inventory system is very shaky online. I don't understand why sometimes they sell more games than they actually have in stock. They did this to me once already but the rest of my orders I have had a positive experience. I'll just complain if my Fire Emblem is backordered, tell them I passed up another deal on it and now both are sold out. Maybe if I complain enough they will give me a gift card or something :)

What are the odds of it actually shipping later?

I got the same thing, I'm backordered to till the 10/23/04. I doubt we will ever get our Fire Emblems. Anyway, I'll complain if they cancell my order.
 
Wait, I just got the BO notice too (no suprise there), but I used $3 in McDonald's BB coupons. What happens to those coupons if my game ends up being cancelled? If they are void, I am going to do quite a bit of complaining.
 
Makes me think more and more than in-store pickup is the way to go, not only to avoid shipping charges, but to not deal with this crap about "whoops, sorry, it's backordered, we'll ship it to you before you're dead and buried".

I'm in the same boat. Also, I ordered in the middle. After the deal was posted but about an hour before it was sold out.

I hope that means I missed the morning shipment but they have mine packed and redy to go for the next pickup.

Be careful, it's probably not there. Any time I look up a rare game for store availability, it lists every Best Buy within 20 miles or so of me.
 
Thanks OP! I've been waiting for Fire Emblem to go down, and just my luck I was planning on doing some errands today, so I'll be checking out my local BB. I'm not getting my hopes up though, cuz I haven't seen it in stores for a long time. :(
 
It would figure... I'm damned to pay full price for this game one way or another... but no harm in checking. Luckily, it's on the way home.
 
Last week I got in on Wild Arms 3 and Hulk GC . . . WA3 arrived and Hulk got backordered . . . which should say "never to be seen" . . . I wanted Hulk more!

Hopefully Hatcher will go through!
 
I just picked up Billy Hatcher at my local store for $9.99 (last copy). The website said that and Kirby was available but Kirby was nowhere to be seen (not even a tag).

Don't count on it being there. Call the store, if you can, and have them physcially check for it, unless you plan to go there anyway.

Chances are very high that they don't have it.

Yep, me too. Site shows stock, no stock to be found on FE or Kirby at the Milpitas CA store. I bet it's just a store locator to get you to go to the B&M. Maybe you'll buy something while you're there.
 
Man, I want Fire Emblem but I just don't have even $10 to spend right now after all the money I blew a week ago. Oh well. Still, great deals for other people to get though :). I shall live vicariously through your cheap ass purchases!!
 
I don't even know why I bothered trying to get Fire Emblem or Wario Ware from bestbuy.com. After all the horror stories I've heard, I figured maybe I'll get lucky and they won't be backordered. But I can't be so fucking lucky. Instead they are both backordered and now I have to debate whether I want to spend $5 for gas to go and see if the store actually has any of these in stock. If they don't hold to this, I will just ignore every fucking bestbuy.com post. Damnit I am fucking pissed about this shit.

The rant is well deserved, since their inventory system is so messed up.

If you find it in-store, I'll truly be surprised. And applauding, as well, for finding such a lucky find. The SKU for Wario Ware and Fire Emblem are both deleted, so you many not find it locally at all.

I feel your pain, BB has done this to me several times already. It fustrating but you still have hope that they will ship eventually. Ikaruga was back ordered for weeks and eventually they shipped to everyone who was back ordered.

Best Buy B&M are usually complete out of these titles. I haven't seen Wario Ware or Fire Emblem at my local BB for months now (I was going to buy them with the GGC but they never restocked them). I would call ahead so you won't waste gas. Also make them check in the back storage room if possible.

It's a good idea to see if the store has it on the availablitity page, if they do it will be bolded as opposed to grey, otherwise it looks like every store has it, and if anyone can get me Kirby for GBA I'll gladly pay you handsomely, PM me if you do!
 
yeah, theres always hope. i just hope that if they don't ship, that people will voice their opinions and fix this problem. i mean i could understand if this happened once in a while, like a glitch or something, but it seems to happen a lot. maybe its time for bestbuy.com to look into a better inventory set up. they should make it let eb, not perfect but still better. that way you could check the availability. this would lead to less let down and little to no backordering. but then again we are dealing with bestbuy.com


i hope they have it instore so i can get points for it.
