[Dead again!] Counter Strike (Xbox) $9.99 at EBgames

THAT WAS FREAKING WEIRD!!!!!!....Earlier today @ 8am ish CS was @ 29.99 price....Any answers as to why??...I must've ordered the last one because it was going INSANELY slow for me and notice post above me stating dead @ 9:55am and order confirmed @ 9:52....good thing I checked again....wish I knew about the ebsaver code ($13 total for me) but who knew by the time I added a cheap .99 thing if I would've gotten CS...

Darn, looks like my rookie mistake might cost me.
I placed my order for Counter-Strike about 30 minutes ago. I then saw this thread and placed another order using the SAVER and PPLAY15 codes. I tried to cancel the first one, but it gave me an error and said that it couldn't. I called the 800 number, but they told me that it takes about an hour from the order time before it gets to their system. I'll try calling back, but my guess is that my first order can get cancelled, but my second order might not have Counter-Strike if they sold out.
So, I have to ask...is CounterStrike worth getting for offline play ONLY?
at $10, yes.
at retail price, no.
no, there is NO GOOD REASON to play CS offline NONE
yes there is, its the same reason people would play the original doom or serious sam. The simple joy of shooting something to death :)

BTW the single player isn't horrible, it's just nearly nonexistent :p

I bought it at retail for the purpose of going online, but with the sheer amount of games in my backlog I haven't gotten the chance. However, I did play single-player offline just to get used to the controls and it is surprisingly fun, much like online without the chat/voice. The bots react pretty well, and you kind of forget you aren't playing against real people.

if anyone would like to trade a sealed counter-strike for a gmail account, pm me or send me an email at [email protected]

accounts are still going for around $40-50 on ebay still, so i'm offering a pretty good deal.

Is the Xbox version of CS any better than the PC version in any way (besides graphics)? I thought I heard it did something special with the analog triggers, or something like that? I really kinda hate the way that the PC version seems to rely entirely on "point-and-click" aiming ability, I'd almost rather play the game where everyone is using a control pad simply because it seems like on the PC version the best aimer automatically wins (which wouldn't be as much of an issue with control pads ;) ).

Drake is back in stock at $5 too. Usually I'd pick up just about any game at $5, but I'm waiting for this one to drop to $0.99.
So close. I added it to my cart for $9.99 and went to check out and my cart was empty. That sucks ass.
Something like that happened to me the first time I tried to order it. For some reason I had to input my credit card number even though I signed in there, and when I clicked on place (or some button to that effect) a page showed up saying it was out of stock.
OK I'm seeing it for $9.99, but when i add it to my cart it is $29.99.
Me too. I took screenshots of the $10 price and will e-mail them to see if they will honor it.

Thanks for the tip, I was able to get a couple copies - one for my brother, the other for linked/LAN games.

I was able to pick up my copy today, even though I am without Live. I'm curious on how the bots would respond to intentional TKs.
