I'm hearing some flaky reviews of Deepdiscount from resellerratings.com I'm a bit wary about buying from here. Unless anyone here has had some positiive experiences with this site.?
Anyone have any recommendations for titles on sale?
I'm not an anime expert, but Cowboy Bebop, if you have not seen it. Also Lucky Star is excellent.

Recommendations off the top of my head...

Planetes
Gurren Lagann
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
Cowboy Bebop of course
Scrapped Princess
The Girl Who Leapt Through Time
most/all of the UC Gundams
the two Ghost in the Shell TV series if they are part of the sale (GITS Stand Alone Complex, and GITS Stand Alone Complex 2nd Gig)
Zegapain was pretty good too

I'm thinking about getting Flag and the two Gurren Lagann bilingual sets I don't have yet.

Just grabed Cowboy Bebop, Wolf's Rain, and Escaflowne.

I have either worn mine out/lost various discs on these three and have been meaning to replace them. Good prices on sets with free shipping

Also, if anyone wants some cheap anime, go ahead and check out my trade list, I got a good size bundle for real cheap! :)

I've ordered from them probably 50+ times over the last 5 years and only had one problem when they sent the wrong DVD and that was cleared up fairly quickly. However, that said, items usually ship fairly slowly, and they do take backorders on out of stock items which can result in stuff showing up quite a while after you ordered it. As long as it isn't something you can't live without for a week or two (or maybe three), you'll likely be fine. They don't bill until they ship, you aren't out of the money while you are waiting.

I used to have no troubles with them, but I recently ordered Tales from the Darkside V3 from them on the 27th of April and it never arrived. I had to file a paypal claim on the order yesterday. You'd think they would put tracking on these orders like Amazon or something as anyone can say they did not get the item and thus get free DVDs.

Deepdiscount has a bad habit of putting things on sale that are out of stock and making you wait for it. My last order from them consisted of 4 DVD titles, one item took 3 weeks to restock. The others were shipped in 2 days if I recall.

I've only had one order that they were unable to restock on (an OOP book).

YES, finally, I'm going to jump on Gurren Lagann, I'm going to probably shoot myself because they'll probably release a collection finally a few months later. And they'd better not accidentally send me the damn sub only version.

Also, suggestions from me, Please Teacher (but if you don't like non-action stuff you won't like it), Outlaw Star, Gundam 08th MS team (really the only good gundam series IMO), Infinite Ryvius (bizarre cross between lord of the flies, and Lost in Space), Scryed (I like it ), if you like please teacher, please twins is also more good stuff, I also second Scrapped princess, and Gurren Lagann. Oh well that's enough.

btw, Gundam 08th is under a real name at this site

I think I'm gonna grab part 2 of G Gundam, this is the first time I've seen it under $40 since its release, and I've owned part 1 for a long ass time.

Ugh. Are you fucking kidding me? I just bought Cowboy Bebop and all of Gundam Wing less than a week
ago. That's what I get for being impatient.
Probably gonna grab Big O and round off my Gundam collection.

Decent but not spectacular prices on these. The only thing that is really tempting for me is Kannagi complete set for 29.99.

Yeah it is taking them forever on a Gurren Lagann. Personally I am still going to wait.

if anyone is thinking of getting Zeta Gundam, any of the Gundam Seeds, Outlaw Star, or Eureka Seven and would rather have the individual DVDs and artboxes....PM me :D

I ordered the limited edition Gurren Lagann part 3 from them last year around November I believe, backordered, and I got it about a month and a half ago. That said, it was a good price and at least it did get filled.
In all honesty, anime in general is way over priced. But i guess I'm just stating the obvious :p
Not when you consider how small the market for it is, and different companies set different pricing structures. It's also more reasonable if you restrict yourself mostly to sales, and avoid single volumes (cept in TRSI's bargain bin). That, and it's hard to complain when it's regularly two to four times the price in the country of origin (or more for some special editions).

Haven't you seen the artbox?! It's as spectacular as an artbox can be, truly. I can't blame you though.

I may have to bite on 08th MS Team, but that's it for me. Pretty decent prices on liteboxes in this sale, that's all though.

Did you check your Gundam Wing discs? The first Anime Legends collection is notorious for having defective discs in it. I don't remember which disc or which episodes.
What am I suppose to buy if I want all of Code Geass? Buying boxsets are so much easier.
Keep waiting.
What's the opinion on the Eureka Seven movie?
I liked it better than the series, but it's a lot different. I'd be hard-pressed to pay more than $10 for any movie though.

Pretty sure I am gonna get the Bebop box set. I need to own the series. GitS Vol 2 Special Edition with the book is also pretty nice. Never seen Outlaw star so I might pick that up as well.

Not really much else there that I know or care about and I already own both Witch Hunter Robin and Haruhi Suzamiya. :p
Way to fight adversity, dude.

Thinking of picking up Cowboy Bebop (why do I keep selling this?!), Escaflowne (ditto), Haruhi, Witch Hunter Robin, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, and possibly Lucky Star.

Of that list, Luck Star is the only one I haven't seen.

This is awesome. They even have the Gundam UC movies pack which should be superior to the Anime Legends set they're releasing next month sans Char's Counterattack and Miller's Report. I really wonder why they couldn't keep the English dubs in the new set.

As far as I'm aware the original trilogy never had an English dub.

Onegai Teacher is EXCELLENT.... Twins is pretty good and worth the blind buy IMO.

NO.

Please Teacher is a far inferior version of Ah! My Goddess, with one of the worst plot devices ever conceived used to avoid addressing what the main relationship really is - statutory rape. Then Please Twins comes along to make things even worse, with a plot centering around incest. Neither show is funny or creative in the least - it's all just terrible schlock.

statutory rape and incest....sounds like Koi Kaze

Please Twins doesn't even deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence as Koi Kaze.

... Unless the sentence is "Hey, I found two shows about incest - Please Twins and Koi Kaze!"

It did on VHS.

haha indeed

sucks that the Zeta Gundam movies aren't in the sale

Can Cowboy Bebop be had for cheaper than that new or is that about as low as it gets? I've never seen it but I've heard lots of good things, obviously. I'd like to grab it someday but it's not a pressing need. So I was just curious.
