If you do it in store you could have them scan your coupon for whatever game you're having shipped to the store and that'll take that discount off. But you may not get the GCU 10% discount that way.

Your math confuses me. Where did you get MGS HD Collection, Homefront and R3 for $22. Even if you meant MGS HD was at $22, I'd like to know how you managed that at BB without more deductions.

If you liked the first, you'll like it, but it's really, really short. I rented it on a Tuesday and had it beat Wednesday night after maybe five or six hours. You can restart the game w/ all your powerups and I played through it a second time and made it 3/4 of the way through the game in about an hour and a half. It's fun. $20 fun.

He would of had to use the $10 off a pre-owned game that's $29.99 or more coupon, plus his 10% off with his unlocked membership. No other way to get it that cheap right now. MGS HD collection is $34.99 used so with the discounts that's where he got $22 from.

Have Homefront on 360, enjoy playing it (Got it during the GameFly Coupon thing last Christmas) -- but picked it up on the way home from the ball game today for PS3! Figured I'll play it again and it might come in hand for when I need those "Trade X amount for X% bonus!" times.

Mine was marked $24.99 but it's $17.99 before coupon and GCU 10%.
 
Managed to get the last PS3 and the last Xbox version in Simi Valley, CA store. They both discounted $15 with the coupon in the same transaction, although my 10% gamer discount only registered on one of two. Out the door for $4.50ish for both.

I got Sin and Punishment: Star Successor at Wal-mart when it was on sale for $10. The shrinkwrap looked like it had been given a knife and then was thrown into the Resistance video game to fend for itself, but at least it was brand new.

I don't think I saw somebody mentioned it, but a MOD over at Best Buy's forum has found out that the "and" part is a misprint and it's suppose to be "or". Said they are planning to do a correction notice to send to stores. Not sure when or if stores will see it. Real issue is more like finding either game in your store.

EDIT: Just adding on to what you're saying. Totally not correcting you since you also mention it should be either or.

There is no specific order needed. The problem people are having is getting the 10% discount to work if they're purchasing more than one game at a time. The discount was only working on one of the games but not both.

If you a just going to pick up Homefront you should have no problem at all, my total yesterday was $1.27 after tax.
 
bb said keyring app was using the coupons without their permission or something. they're no longer accepting it. but ymmv like always.

But the big question is what does the system do? Will it discount $30 when you scan the coupon when only purchasing one of the games?

Chances are it will discount the one game. It's been said as a misprint. They can easily update the computer to accept 1 game if it didn't do that already in the first place. The correction is more for people who were confused or employees only accepting what the coupon says.
 
How much luck have people had with getting coupons to work on used versions of games if they aren't specified for the used versions? I feel like I've seen some people come in these topics and say they were successful. Reason I ask is because I noticed on BB website that Darkness 2 preowned is 24.99. I was hoping to use the $10 on that rather than the new version, assuming I had a store with it in stock.

Anything not explicitly stated on the coupon is always YMMV at Best Buy, and sometimes even stuff that is explicitly stated is YMMV too; I really do like BBY but sometimes... :roll:

Your odds will be much better if the store has quite a few copies of the game used or doesn't have many (or any) of it new. Speaking in general terms here, but obviously most managers will take any sale over no sale, but are a lot less likely to bend if they have 40 copies of the game new and three copies of it used sitting on the shelves.

Not related to this but figured I'd throw it out there while people are shopping at BBY due to these coupons, I was able to get the Ace Combat Assault Horizon soundtrack for a penny at one of my local Best Buy stores. They had a ton left and no copies of the game so I asked if I could snag one and she had to just "make sure it wasn't in the system." It turned out it was, but they were only a penny so she offered to "sell it to me" for a penny (enough though she really just took a penny off the register to save me the trouble). Just a heads up for those of you that like random video game stuff. FYI, she would have let me buy as many as I wanted but I really didn't need or want more than one.

Why ask a fraud type question? Is saving $5.01 really worth that to your personal character? Might as well be one of those asking their luck of buying a game with a coupon from best buy to return to Walmart for full price. Could you just soundly fuck off? Go somewhere else?
 
I have an older BB Rewards Zone member number (9 digits instead of 10) and while I get the 10% unlocked discount if I buy a used game online, my card never seems to work in store. The game rings up at full used price and I always have to argue for the 10%. Homefront cost me $3 + tax instead of the $1+ that other people are getting it for.

Anyone who has this same issue, do you have an old number as well? I'm trying to gather some info before I call customer service to find out why my number doesn't work correctly. Thanks!

Use your phone number instead. I have a 9 digit number and my card never works for the 10% or to populate my info for trade ins.

Oh! Well there's a great idea I obviously did not think of. My in store purchases do show up on my Rewards Zone account and I can see an Unlocked line item when I look at purchase details but that 10% just does not work. I haven't traded in games since I joined unlocked so I'm not sure if that bonus works either.

I'll try using my phone number next time I buy a used game and see if that makes a difference. Thanks for the tip.

The coupon states in the terms NOT VALID FOR PRE OWNED UNLESS COUPON EXPLICITLY SAYS PREOWNED.

Any employee doing their job should not allow this. I think one user said he was told they might honor the ME2 coupon on used since there was pitiful new stock, but that seemed to be a manager exception more than anything else.

First off, how is that even fraud? I was asking if people have had success using a BEST BUY coupon at a BEST BUY store on a used version of the game the coupon is for.

Used - $24.99 for 360 on the BB website - 10% discount - $10 coupon = $12.49
$29.99 - $12.49 = $5.01 savings?

Wow, whole bunch of tense CAGers trolling the boards today. I recalled seeing a post or topic about someone that was able to use a coupon in this manner (I believe an earlier post referred to it as being ME2), and it was the first I'd heard of it. All I wanted to know was how frequently people were successful doing it. I stated in my initial question that I knew the coupon was for new copies.

Seriously, the flippers and hoarders must be on vacation, because you guys are obviously hurting for someone to target.

The topic you're referring to was for someone that went to a store looking for a new copy of ME2, only to find out that they were none left and the store didn't expect any more in. The person convinced the store to let him use the coupon on a used copy.

Huge YMMV, and that post you read was probably the only person that it happened to.
