Here's your answer:

It doesn't matter what any other CAGs experience is pertaining to trying to convince an employee to do something he or she is not supposed to do.

Not unless you are going to the same exact employee and demanding they do the same exact thing.

Do you need some sort of internet courage to hear that some other CAG lucked out by convincing an employee to manually apply a coupon when they weren't supposed to? Are you taking a poll to try to determine the percentage of BB employees who don't know or adhere to their coupon policy?

If you want to try it, grow some balls and grow try it.

Your odds will be much better if the store has quite a few copies of the game used or doesn't have many (or any) of it new. Speaking in general terms here, but obviously most managers will take any sale over no sale, but are a lot less likely to bend if they have 40 copies of the game new and three copies of it used sitting on the shelves.

Put a zero in front of your Reward Zone number. My number is the same way (9 digits instead of 10) so the online system wouldn't recognize it and take my Unlocked discount off when ordering online (although never had an issue in-store). Played around with the numbers online and putting a zero before my RZ number worked. Instantly recognized and applied...
 
Just to throw out some useless information, since the better answer of using your phone number has already been given, I have a five digit number and they would always have to add five zeroes before my number in the old days to get it to work.

It actually sounds unrelated to them entering your account properly if you do see the purchases showing in your RZ account. Sounds like you should be hitting up the Best Buy Forums to get your Unlocked account to work properly:

i always just use my phone number everytime. i tell my friends to use it also, lol.
so sometimes i see purchases and points and im like thats awesome, and then i see they bought a cassette adapter for $35 for an iphone case for some crazy amount of $$ and then i cringe, but i appreciate the rz points cuz i only use gc's and therefore earn very little points. lol. but yeah, the game trade supervisors knew my # offhand.
 
Just picked up Homefront for 360. The disc was pretty beat up it had a small crack near the middle and a couple of scratches. Surprisingly the online pass and camouflage dlc (though it says it expired on the sixth of 2011) weren't used.
 
i was looking just in case it got a good sale, but my local bestbuy doesnt even have Yakuza Dead Souls. Ugh!
I'm playing it now and it is such a great game (combat lil flawed compared to Yakuza 4 brawler cuz you are using guns vs zombies, but still great) but it went from white knight chron 2 then yoostar 2 then xmen destiny. crazy they stock shit like xmen destiny and not yakuza. it wasnt even sold out just not even there. ugh for shame.
 
I wasn't able to get past my local store (Woodland, CA) yesterday, and they'd sold the single copy of Homefront (360) they'd had. Luckily I was headed to Sacramento anyway, so I was able to swing by and snag the last one in Natomas for $1.30. It was in good shape and complete with manual, so I'm happy. :)

Hey what are you doing at my local store? JK, I was looking for the PS3 copy and they don't have any. Even the guy at the gaming dept is a fellow CAG.
 
I can't believe anyone was able to find the game today with the limited suppy and crazy low price.There was only one copy left at my BBY after I bought my copy Monday. Go figure.

The gaming dept in Woodland is also great. I haven't tried trading anything in since the change in policy, but they were willing to work with me on the ME2 coupon last month. Didn't take them up on it since I have no use for a second used copy of the game (just can't bring myself to pay much for the Cerberus DLC), but it's nice to know the local staff tries to take care of their customers. :applause:

That list seems weird, just going by location here the Chesterfield store is one of the few that's kind of out of the way and services a different population, whereas there are 4 best buys that are close enough that going to one over the other is not a tremendously huge deal (Fenton, SoCo, Brentwood, Crestwood). Plus there are best buys that are complete crapholes (like the Bridgeton one) that would make sense to close. Plus, Chesterfield is a bunch of rich MSRP-paying people, so I'd assume that BB there does alright.

What insiders have said is that it was based on losses.

That could mean a bevy of things. Bad leases, high operating costs, lost prevention fail, bad sales etc etc

It certainly wouldn't shock me to learn that chesterfield is one of their highest leases payments outside of places like california or new york (or at least just severely out of whack for what BB perceives as an appropriate lease in the Midwest) so that could be it.

I know it's a niche title but I picked up Disgaea 4 for $26 last month ($40- 10% unlocked -$10 coupon). After seeing it sit around $60-$70 on Amazon for weeks I felt pretty good about that. I also snagged the MGS collection this month for $22 ($35- 10% - $10). Just a couple of options for over $30 games.
 
I guess I better get the most out of my @gamer coupons if my store actually ends up closing. Sorta sucks since there isn't anywhere else that offers "good" deals. The only places around me to buy games now would be Walmart, Shopko, Kmart, and Fred Meyer's... and God knows all those places have crap deals on games. Only place that may even be worth going to is Target, but that's only if they have good deals on clearance items. Looks like I'm gonna be shit outta luck deal-wise.

^this. u shouldn't even mention the extra discount- just give them your phone number/rewardszone card and the coupon and it should take off the 10% automatically in the computer-they won't argue with it once they see it on screen for themselves.

Day 4 of the April coupons being alive and I have yet to receive the Gamer mag despite being a member for a year now. Is this my punishment for all the great March deals that I flipped? Hope you're enjoying the joke, Best Buy.
 
I'm just going to wait to see if the used resistance 3 copys drop in price. If not then ill get it at the last minute. Im kinda surprised that others aren't doing the same. I remember gears 3 dropping in price by a few bucks when the jan/feb coupons were out so I have nothing to loose by waiting

lol. ya i see that now. game,coupon, THEN give them card or phone number. plus i agree their FAQ needs updating so it shows this clearly as i swear i was argueing with people that had no comprehension of the english language. as something you pay for is not another offer in the sense it is used elsewhere. as logically speaking a sale price like FF 13 being 29.99 using that logic should not stack with the coupon. oh well at least mike on that forum is on top of things.

i grabbed the last resistance 3 they had used in my BB. im going to guess this game isnt going to sit there till may.

fail...so much fail....though i did get them to override that before as the 10% didnt show up on just some cheap games i bought so they manually did it for each game.

Ditto here. I've only been a member for about 6 months, but I've yet to get my magazine, and of the two local stores that had Homefront used 4 days ago, one is now sold out.
