It is 45 days now but I think it changes to 60 in June. The only advantage is that if you want a game day 1, it is a decent gamble to buy it at Best Buy since there is likely to be some sale to price match within the next 2 months. With the 45 day limit last Fall I was able to price match a few things but not everything I got (as part of that 5 preorder game deal). I got a couple things down to $40 and 1 to $50 I think.

So, yeah, it is probably much better (and more CAG-like ;)) simply to wait until the game is much cheaper but I think he was referring to "day 1" purchases as in games you just have to have day 1. I still prefer ordering those from Amazon because they will likely have a $10 credit offer (sucks that they dropped the $20 for the most part) and possibly some sort of preorder bonus (though Best Buy may very well have one too) and I have Amazon credit to burn so I'd rather spend $60 there than $40-$50 at Best Buy anyway. And I don't have to keep track of the ads, drive up there, and go in and price match (possibly 2 or 3 times as the deals get better).

Granted I don't go to GS too often, but out of the last three times I went in there and bought something not once did anyone ask me to pre-order or buy anything other than what I asked for. In fact the last time with the EA gift cards, the manager helped me and was nice and no pressure. The last time I got asked about a pre-order was when I bought Deadly Premonition and they tried to convince to pre-order Alan Wake because I guess they thought the two games were similar.
 
I signed up for a year subscription on Wednesday, is there another step I have to do to get the welcome coupon and make sure my magazine comes in next month?

On the back of the coupon it says cannot be owned on preowned unless it states preowned. Care to tell me what I may have missed and if it can be replicated on the metroid coupon.

That would be the pre-owned copy of it. I was referring to the new copy which there will not be a deduction of 10% for GCU and the new one is listed as 39.99.
 
Anyone know what happens at a bb when it closes? Is everything just msrp and they take it off? and do the discounts get higher the closer it is to closing?

I'll know tomorrow. One of my 2 local BB stores is closing. It said get 20% off of everything. Since it's not a liquidation, I don't see why they wouldn't still have the normal sales on, too. I don't think they'll hit crazy percentages... Not when there's 2500 other stores to send inventory to.
 
Two weeks into April and I still haven't gotten my magazine in the mail. Should I be worried; has everyone else gotten theirs? I'd be more upset if there were some amazing deals to be had that I was missing out on, but it's not like I _need_ it now.

If there is some insane deal that comes up that you'd miss out on otherwise by not having the magazine, then you could always go in store and show them you're in the GCU and state you haven't received this month's mag as of yet.

But I would also be checking my status on the @Gamer customer service site to see if maybe they switched you to a digital format magazine and to switch it back.
 
Was interested in picking up Resistance 3, but wondered how used games come at BB. Do they have stickers all over the cases? are they usually complete? I usually avoid used games but wanted to use one of these coupons.

The only sticker on the case on the BB used games is usually over the original UPC. But it's a difficult to get off kind of sticker, just like the old EB Games stickers used to be.

As long as you have a piece of packing tape you can get most(if not all) of the leftover glue residue off the case with little to no trouble at all. I have yet to do that to my copy of :ps3:Dead Island, but I've already picked off the sticker as it is. So hopefully the rest of the glue will come off as easily as the one that used to be on the older Gamestop stickers.
 
yeah ive learned to give up on removing the bb stickers. the used game deals are usually so good i figure im just gonna keep the game so leaving the sticker isnt that big of a deal. and if i wanna trade it in, i just use a craft knife and cut it out.

You guys talking about stickers on the case? I always use boiling hot water plus a mixture of dish soap and white vinegar, scrub with a sponge, works like a charm

Bestbuy announced eariler today which 50 store where closing and they ones in Syracuse NY weren't on the list :0. Kinda glad since I'm only 1 mile or so from the Dewitt BB store.

Couldn't find any copies of Sin & Punishment nor Metroid M for the WII at my two stores.

But they did also say in their statement that there are three as yet unnamed stores.:cry: The DeWitt store though was always my source for decent deals when I was up that way for work.;) That and the Sears nearby never failed to amaze me with the sheer volume of good stuff really cheap that was left untouched in that area. I always thought for such a major metro area that every deal would be cleaned out.:whistle2:#

The way I always remove those pesky stickers is with a hair dryer. Heat up the plastic a bit and the sticker comes right off with ease.
 
I actually went today for the Homefront deal and wound up getting a subscription. The weird thing was the computer let me have a subscription just by buying the magazine so the bill went to only $8. I'm not sure if it was a glitch or what but the receipt does say I'm getting the magazines/unlocked benefits. When can I expect the RewardZone website to update with my new status of being in Unlocked?

It's actually pretty simple, I'm still trying to improve my formula, but dish soap and white vinegar are to be applied seperately. my guess is that anything with a PH value smaller than 7 should work. The last step is my wife's nail polish remover for the final thin layer of residue, but as I said, I hate the smell.never tried goo gone though, maybe it works miracles as some have tried and verified.

Hairdryer works the best. ALWAYS gets everything off cleanly, i use it all the time to reuse shipping boxes and get the labels off the boxes.
