[DEAD] GS/EB trade 3 games bonus 10%, 4-20%, 5-30% (w/ edgecard ~ 40%)

trade 3 games: bonus 10%
trade 4 games: bonus 20%
trade 5 games: bonus 30%

its on the 'trade in values' webpage of eb/gs. doesnt have an expiration date yet so this might be a mistake.

anyone confirm this in store?

I'm new at this, so I'm hoping someone could help me out here. I'm planning to trade in the following:

Animal Crossing Wild World (DS)
Pokemon Dungeon (DS)
Fifa Soccer 07 (PSP)
NCAA 07 (PS2)

How much do you think I'd get for these? Thanks.
Before I consider this deal, can anyone confirm Oblivion (360) is valued at $2 as CAGWiki has it? I don't believe it.
I think that's a typo and it is twenty-something (or at least it was at that time). If anyone gets a new price I'll change it.

Got $15 for it today (Oblivion 360).

Did this trade today and originally had $259.00 in store credit, with the additional 30% plus 10% edge got $329.00.

Here is my pre-bonus trade amounts

DSL 70.00
Live vision cam 12.00
Rainbow Six Vegas (360) 25.00
Halo 8.00
Red Star 6.00
Odin Sphere 18.00
Shadow of Col 7.00
Devil May Cry 3 7.00
Halo 2 12.00

GBA

That's a rather nice kick to the nads.
Minish Cap 10.00
Fire Emblem 7.00
Damn. I would have gladly bought those off of you. :(

If anyone has traded any of these, can you give me an idea on what I'll get for them? Half the time they won't tell me over the phone and I don't want to waste a trip out there if they're worth nothing.

GRAW (360)
GRAW 2 (360)
Splinter Cell DA (360)
GTA3 (Xbox)
GTA Vice City (Xbox)
GTA San Andreas (Xbox)
Doom 3 (Xbox)
Spider-Man 2 (Xbox)
Dead or Alive 3 (Xbox)
Silent Hill 2: Restless Dreams (Xbox)
Zelda: Link to the Past (GBA)

The Xbox games I'm really not holding my breath on since they're rather old. Trying to scrape up some credit to get BioShock.

Yes, it was, but it was the one I had gotten for free from Mountain Dew. So it was a padded kick but a kick non the less. Sorry, it was a spur of the moment thing, wanted an elite.

Only $18 for Odin Sphere!!!! The game came out like a month ago!!! $130 for the 360! Fire Emblem is $7!!!

On a side note:

1. A while back (well before the elite was released) I saw someone trade in their 360 premium for cash. He only got like $175, and no, I didn't have any cash to offer him.

2. Odin Sphere will be one of the more valuable PS2 games 3 years from now. Great game released at the end of the system's life-cycle.

Here are some new ones for the wiki.. all PS2 games:

Alien Hominid $4.00
Castlevania: Curse of Darkness $3.00
Cy Girls $.50 lol
FFVII Dirge of Cercerus $8.00
God Hand $7.00
GTA Liberty City Stories $4.00
Haunting Ground $7.00
Indigo Prophecy $4.00
Mercenaries $10.00
Nanobreaker $1.50
Steambot Chronicles $5.00
Tokyo Extreme Racer Drift 2 $3.00
Viewtiful Joe $1.00
Viewtiful Joe 2 $1.00
Genji $2.00
Tekken 5 $8.00
Guilty Gear X2 $12.00
Guilty Gear Isuka $6.00

These are all quotes I got last week because I wanted to soften the blow from buying Persona 3 and no I did not trade these all for those prices...

Although with the new trade in deal a few of these may go towards Wild Arms 5
So I can safely assume that there are no exceptions? (BK games is what I am thinking about to bloster the value of other games)
BK games work. They'll only get ya about a quarter though. But they will get you up to the magic 5 number if you don't have 5 good games that you want to trade.

Here are the trade-in values I got today before the extra 40%, if someone wants to update the Wiki with them:

GBA
Final Fantasy IV Advance--$8
Final Fantasy V Advance--$8
Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga--$5
Pokemon FireRed--$10
Shining Force: Resurrection of the Dark Dragon--$1
Super Mario World (Super Mario Advance 2)--$9
Yoshi's Island (Super Mario Advance 3)--$4

Gamecube
Spiderman 2--$4

Generally, I got more than I was expecting for these games. EB's recent promos have made the rest of this gaming year merely ridiculously expensive for me, rather than impossibly expensive, for which I am grateful.

A few I traded in today:

Gamecube
Godzilla Destroy All Monsters - $5.00
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2003 - $0.75

PS2
MVP Baseball NCAA 2007 - $6.00
Dragonball Z Budokai Tenkaichi - $3.00
Dead to Rights II - $1.50

Xbox
Godfather - $5.00
From Russia With Love - $2.00

All I trade to them is trash. Most of the games were scratched up or disc only or both. Godzilla had ragu sauce all over the cover.

What I traded in today, all before bonus:

PS2:
Allien Hominid - $4
Corvette - $1.50
Dark Cloud - $1.50
High Rollers Casino - $1
IHRA Professional Racing - $1
Jak 3 - $5
Kingdom Hearts - $5
Motocross Mania 3 - $1
Starsky & Hutch - $0.50
Super Trucks Racing - $1
Street Fighter EX3 - $4

GCN:
Bomberman Jetters - $2.50
F-Zero GX - $2.50
Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour - $6.00

Wii:
The BIGS - $20

DVDs:
Love Hina - $3
Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children - $4

Total after bonuses: $86.28

I got slapped with a small fee ($.50) for trading KH game-only. I also used the $10 Wii/PS3 coupon, but that fell through, because the this thing I guess messed with it, and the cashier didn't catch it, nor did he relent when I went back when I noticed. Only a $4 difference, so I don't care too much.

Nearly paid off my Super Mario Galaxy and Super Smash Bros. Brawl preorders, so couple that with $10 I put down before... I have to pay $8 out of pocket after tax. :D

Damn you sold the DSL for $70.

And I'm about to buy a GBA:SP for $60.
You guys could've pass the savings on to us.

Also, at GS I was offered $7 for Nascar07 for the PS2
$7 for the old GBA.

Some more numbers..

GTA: San Andreas (Xbox) > $8
GTA: Vice City (Xbox) > $2.50
GTA3 (Xbox) > $1
Legend of Zelda: LttP (GBA) > $6
Indigo Prophecy (Xbox) > $3
Project Gotham Racing 3 (360) > $4
GRAW (360) > $5
Splinter Cell: DA (360) > $9
GRAW 2 (360) > $17
Super Mario Sunshine (GC) > $6
New Super Mario Bros. (DS) > $12
Spider-Man 2 (Xbox) > $2
Silent Hill 2 (Xbox) > $2.50
Dead or Alive 3 (Xbox) > $1
Doom 3 (Xbox) > $2

Total (after bonuses): $113.40

I think that went better than expected. Got BioShock and paid off my GTA4 pre-order in full.. not too bad.

Didnt trade it in. Just asked what they were offering as I was using my warranty to get a new one (had the cracked hinge).

I don't know if this has been reported but I was just talking to a GS manager and you can get up to 60% trade in bonus if you trade in 5 or more and put all the credit towards Mario Galaxy, Halo 3, and one or two other games that they are giving out 20% extra credit towards pre-orders. You also need the edge card.

Here's what I traded, before the bonus & edge:

Halo 2 x2-$12 each
Gears of War-$25
Need For Speed Carbon (360)-$10
RE Outbreak-$6
RE2 (GC)-$16
Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones-Idk, guy put it in a the 1st GBA Fire Emblem, getting me $8.

got $127 after Edge & 30%. Not bad considering I bought this entire lost for $70.50. Paid for Guitar Hero 3 & some of Rock Band.

must be YMMV.
at my GS/EB - the manager specifically told me that I couldn't stack the preorder promotion with this, the only way to do that was a manual override.

Did a set today:

Gears Of War - $25 base + $2.50 edge (+$7.50 promo)
Luigi's Mansion - $5 base + $0.50 edge (+$1.50 promo)
Wario Ware, Inc. (GBA) - $2 base + $0.20 edge (+$0.60 promo)
Harvest Moon DS - $10 base + $1 edge (+$3.00 promo)
Banjo Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge - $1.50 base + $0.15 edge (+$0.45 promo)

Also traded in two GBA link cables at $0.50 each + $0.05 edge and a GBA SP charger for $2.00 + $0.20 edge.

$64.20 in credit total.

Oh now I get it. I thought the deal was if you trade in say 5 games you get an extra 30% of the total. That would've been awesome.

Question:

How much luck have people had in taking advantage of a pre-order bonus towards a game, like the one they're running for Halo 3 and Mario, then cancelling it later?

My friend wants to trade some shit in, but he wants maximum boost, but can't get either game because he'll be down at school when they come out. So if he could trade his games in, get the 20% boost, then move his pre-order he would do that.

Also, has anyone had any luck stacking promos? 30% for 5 games plus 20% for pre-ordering Halo or Mario?

You can always cancel it - YMMV on them being pissed about that or not. I don't know if anyone would deny it though. However, he'll have a much easier time if he simply wants to switch it to something else (that comes out later). I plan on doing this with some of the Wii preorders I have (from the trade 2 get 1 free deal).

As for stacking the preorder bump with the extra credit bump, very YMMV on that as it requires a manual override and they seem less willing to do that than they used to (when it was required for the promos to work). Now that promos are automatic they are less inclined to override them. I can tell you that I tried this at the Washington Square EB and they couldn't get it to work (it was their suggestion as I have no interest in Halo but I was trading a lot of stuff so I figured I'd let them try to stack the 20% on top of it). The computer would only take one or the other promo, though.

Cool. I'll just tell him to switch pre-orders.

Was it the EBX or the GS for clarification?

I LOVE the EBX. The employees there are fantastic.

NM. You said EB. You didn't happen to be there on Tuesday were you?

EBX... I used to like it there better. There's only one employee I know now (besides the manager). The rest always seem different to me (the guy that helped me last time was brand new). My favorite EB is the Sherwood store, but the manager left for better things as I understand it. He was the master of the override and would give me bonus credit left and right (nothing nefarious - just combined the trade-in promos with the extra 10% on preorders for me all the time, whereas other stores wouldn't even know about the preorder bonus). I miss him ;). Though I think one of his cool sidekicks is now the manager so I could still probably get the extra bonus - it's just that that store is too far out of the way for me to visit too often.

To answer your edit: no, I haven't been there in a few weeks... (went there on the last day of the DS/PSP $5 bonus credit deal - which was much better than this current deal, though of course more restricted).

I just remember the old manager of the EBX, maybe he still is? He was older, just about bald with grey hair. He was always really nice. Gave me tons of promo stuff too for free. Display stands, posters, what have you.

I just know the guy who helped me on Tuesday was named James, wasn't pushy at all, just a nice guy, even made sure I got all the bonuses I could for my trade in.

Ziv confirmed in post #62 in this thread that you could, but you'd only get a quarter for the games themselves. I wonder if that's before or after bonus? ;)

Traded more in

Forza 2-$25
Twisted Metal: Black-$1.50
Triggerman-$.50
SSX Blur-$10
War of the Monsters-$8
Tekken 5-$7

after the 40% I got 73.50. I got 4 Genesis and NES games and a used Bioshock :applause: . Still have $21 in credit left.

Planning on trading in some high valued of games on Friday, I have a question.

If I were to trade in four games, I should get 10% with my Edge card and 20% more with this promo, making it 30%.

I also planning on putting down my trade in credit (and I should still have some more left over) towards the 360 Guitar Hero III bundle, which, according to Gamestop.com through a Power Trade should give me 20% extra. Would that make it 50% extra trade-in credit that I should get, or does the 20% Power Trade promo not stack with the Edge Card and/or the 4 games 20%?
