[DEAD] GS/EB trade 3 games bonus 10%, 4-20%, 5-30% (w/ edgecard ~ 40%)

trade 3 games: bonus 10%
trade 4 games: bonus 20%
trade 5 games: bonus 30%

its on the 'trade in values' webpage of eb/gs. doesnt have an expiration date yet so this might be a mistake.

Check the wiki for price information; if it's within the past couple months, it's accurate (although GS (sometimes) raises and (mostly) lowers prices all the time).

The current deal will net you 40% extra if you trade 5 games at once and have an Edge card. Getting it to stack with a preorder deal is YMMV.

Updated wiki with kinnysama, mkernan, and LimpDaddy's info. Thanks everyone!

Last I checked a few months ago, the 360 hard drives were going for $60+ on eBay. Please, people! :)

I swung by today with a few pieces, mostly for Guitar Hero Rocks the '80s but I had some GBA games I didn't mind parting with, either. Prices before/after 40% bonus:

• GH Rocks the '80s: $25 / $35
• Tiger Woods PGA Tour '07 PSP: $7 / $9.80
• Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow: $7 / $9.80
• Advance Wars: $3 / $4.20 (down from the CAG Wiki)
• FFTA: $6 / $8.40
• Mario Tennis: Power Tour: $5 / $7

Total: $74.20

Not too shabby. Since I got GH '80s for that Best Buy deal where it was $40 with a $15 GC, I actually made money on the proposition. :)

I was actually quite happy with this. Traded the following:

Twilight Princess (Wii)
Wind Waker with marker on the disc (GCN)
God of War GH (PS2)
San Andreas (PS2)
FFX GH (PS2)

Pulled in $79.80 after all the bonuses. Real nice seeing how everything but Twilight Princess cost me about $4 apiece at a local CD store. Grabbed a used copy of Corruption for $40 after discount and stuck the rest on an Edge card.

Now the really cool thing is that if I manage to finish Corruption by the end of the month I can get $38.50 credit for it. Kinda like a 2-week rental for $1.50 :)
Here's my totals with before bonus first, then after the 40% bonus.

The Bigs (360) $18.00/$25.20
NHL 2k7 (360) $7.00/$9.80
Crackdown (360) $10.00/$14.00
Dead Rising (360) $12.00/$16.80
Overlord (360) $20.00/$28.00
Final Fantasy XII (PS2) $12.00/$16.80
Karaoke Revolution: American Idol (PS2) $5.00/$7.00
Wild Arms: Alter Code F (PS2) $5.00/$7.00
Call of Duty 3 (PS3) $9.00/$12.60
Rainbow Six Vegas (PS3) $25.00/$35.00

Total was $172.20.

I picked up Blue Dragon, and am also getting Eternal Sonata and either NHL 08 or NHL 2k8.
Damnation, you were over the 5 games and I would have easily sent your $20 for PS3 Call of Duty 3

Updated wiki with lunker's info from this thread and tangytangerine's info from the craziest/funniest EB story thread. Thanks to both of you.

It would be great to have some kind of way to get together the people who are willing to trade sub $10 PS3, 360, and Wii items with others who would gladly pay them more. Like donut, I'd pay $20 for some PS3 games that are going for $9 or less.

I just can't think of a very good way to do it.

am i the only one that think trade in values still suck.. even after coupon everything just seems not worth it

after lookin at the wiki... man that blows

i rather keep my games

i swear the last time i traded in games must of been like 6 years ago.. traded in n64 and dc games so i can get pso v2 on dc...

ofcouse back then i didnt have a job..now that i do... fuck trading in

some updates for cag wiki all pre-bonus

Forza 2 - $20
Rainbow Six Vegas 360 - $20
GTA Sand Andreas Xbox - $10
Ghost Recon Summit Strike Xbox- $4
Halo 2 MP Map Pack Xbox- $6
RE4 Wii - $18

After bonus was $109.20 total

fuck. Right around a good deal like this I can't find my Edge card. Is there any way to get another one without having to buy a new subscription? The numbers on the card were washed anyway, and I have various magazines with my number on it, so...

Some updates for the wiki pre-bonus:

Prince of Persia: Warrior Within (Cube) - $5.00
Dead or Alive Ultimate - $1.50
Yakuza - $5.00

My total with bonus and other games was $77.7 which was for a pre-order of Halo 3:LE. Weird...

I've got an extra 360 20GB hard drive that hasn't been used if anyone's interested..

So If I'm to read this right, I can trade in 3, 4, or 5 games and get whatever bonus I get for them. I can then stack that on a power trade preorder bonus for Guitar Hero III?

Updated wiki with badramen, Iron Angel, and ZeroTypeX's info. Thanks everyone!

Punk_Raven, bring in a receipt or something with your Edge number. Last time I went in, my card would scan but when they input the number, it wouldn't work. Turns out the printout on the card was missing some numbers. They called corporate and printed a new label, so there's no reason they shouldn't be able to do that for you.

Here's what they gave me Saturday on these:

Daxter (psp) - $5.00 / $7.00
Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (gc) - $17.00 / $23.80
DDR: Supernova (ps2) - $15.00 / $21.00
Need For Speed: Most Wanted (360) - $9.00 / $12.60
Splinter Cell: Chaos (something) (xbox) - $1.50 / $2.10

PSP Memory Duo 1gb - $10 / $11

Got $77.50 total. Decided to take the plunge and pickup a Wii. Got the system and 2 games (used copy of Twilight Princess & a new Metroid). Used the 10% off coupon on the games, and my grand total out of pocket after tax & trade-in credit was $286.57. Not too bad.
So If I'm to read this right, I can trade in 3, 4, or 5 games and get whatever bonus I get for them. I can then stack that on a power trade preorder bonus for Guitar Hero III?
Technically speaking, I think the answer is no because you can't take advantage of more than one promo. However, it may be YMMV because if you have an employee who really wants to get you to pre-order something, they may be able to manually give you the extra 30%.
So If I'm to read this right, I can trade in 3, 4, or 5 games and get whatever bonus I get for them. I can then stack that on a power trade preorder bonus for Guitar Hero III?
YMMV. I've tried this several times and been denied at all of the regular haunts I go to. In my experience, I can apply the Edge card 10 percent bonus to any trade-in promotions, but I can't double-up on any promo offers (such as the "30 percent extra for 5 games" and the "20 percent extra for reserves"). And a lot of the stores' systems won't let people triple-dip to get all three promos, but if you find someone willing and capable of overriding it, then you're golden.

More than a handful of times, I've had a register guy/gal tell me "Oh yeah, you can stack all of them," only to spend 10 minutes trying to put it in, calling his/her manager over and then recanting the statement. :(

Oh, I forgot to mention, too: Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops (PSP) only nets $5 in trade-in cash now. I decided to keep it at that price.

I managed it last week and stacked the extra credit for a Wii title with a GHIII pre-order, but I was there for like 30 mins and I get the impression the CSR really shouldn't have done it, the computer seemed to be figting her all the way.

End of the day I got $38.50 trade in for Sonic and the Secret Rings but this is highly YMMV.

I traded these:
Resident Evil 4 ps2 = $10.00/ $14.00
Resident Evil Code Veronica X ps2 = $2.50/ $3.50
Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker = $7.00/ $9.80
Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess = $17.00/ $23.80
Legend of Zelda: Collector's Edition = $15.00/ $21.00
Canceled a preorder on Silent Hill Origins (Getting it with amazon giftcard) = $31.79

Total = $103.89

I purchased the PSP Daxter Bundle for $108.10.

I got RE4 and Zelda: TP as gifts, got RE: CVX for $4 on Amazon, bought the Zelda: CE a few years ago at a pawn shop for $12 (You can pretty easily get it for cheaper now that the Wii has most of the games), and WW was purchased last year during the B2G1F deal at Gamestop.

I think I did pretty well.

Got some prices for the wiki, don't know if they'll help.

All 360.

Forza 2 - $20
Fuzion Frenzy 2 - $10
Saint's Row - $12
Tony Hawk Project 8 - $6

Total with the bonus came to $67.20

Paid off Halo 3 and got an Edge card, which ended up with me owing $3 for it, but not bad at all IMO (except THP8, but I bought that for $12 at costco that one day so it didn't really bother me.

I did ok, except they dropped the trade in on Bioshock to $25 from $30 :bomb:

Prices shown are before 40%, then after

NBA 2K6 (360) - $1/$1.40
Rayman Raving Rabbits (360) - $7/$9.80
Eragon (360) - $4/$5.60
Superman Returns (360) - $5/$7
Bioshock (360) - $25/$35

So total was $58.80, could be worse, I paid next to nothing for NBA 2K6, Rayman and Eragon anyway.

They offered to stack the offer on a power-trade, but there's nothing else I want to pre-order.

Couldn't resist one more haul:

Dynasty Warriors V: Empires (360) - $11.00 / $15.40
Resident Evil 4 (gc) - $6.00 / $8.40
Bioshock (360) - $25.00 / $35.00 (yea, they dropped the price - but I traded disk only & kept everything else from the CE :p)
Ys: Ark of Napishtm (psp) - $5.00 / $7.00 (only paid $5 @ TRU)
Lumines (psp) - $11.00 / $15.40 (wow )

$81.20 was the total - picked up a new copy of Super Paper Mario & put the rest ($31.71) down on a Nights preorder. I was happy with that. :)

Lumines (psp) - $11.00 / $15.40 (wow)

sounds about right, considering they're charging $35 used for it. Hooray for bandwagon-jumping.

I took in copies of Pokemon Diamond and FFVI Advance that I'd picked up for $10 each at a pawnshop. Didn't see FFVIA in the wiki, so...

Pokemon Diamond - $18, as the website states ($23.40 after 30%)
FFVI Advance - $10 ($13)

Used the credit to preorder Dracula X Chronicles and added the rest to my SSB Brawl preorder, whee.

Traded some games in today when I went to pick up Eternal Sonata:

GRAW2 360 - $17 ($23.80 after 40% bonus)
BioShock 360 - $25 ($35 after 40% bonus)
Samurai Warriors 2 Empires 360 - $11 ($15.40 after 40% bonus)
Super Mario 3 GBA - $12 ($16.80 after 40% bonus)
Yoshi's Island GBA - $4 ($5.60 after 40% bonus)

Originally I was trying to scrounge up 5 360 games for the deal but realized that GBA games were included too. I was pleasantly surprised to see that I got $16.80 for Mario 3.

Put the leftover $50 or so on a Call of Duty 4 pre-order...

Are people finding this bonus applies to hardware/accessories too? Thinking of getting rid of my 360 GH2 controller (getting GH3 and rock band w/controllers anyway) and slim PS2... If not guess I'll scrounge up some games.

ACCESSORIES (not hardware) seems to work with the coupon, but not the regular 5-30% promo that is going on.

I had no problem trading in some older accessories and getting the extra 30% off. I traded in a Pelican XBOX controller, and an old live headset and communicator. I gotta find my receipt and list what they gave me, but I was definitely surprised...

Is this with the 30% coupon, or the "trade in x, get y% bonus" deal? Also, do the accessories count as games?

I was wondering if it went towards the 3-4-5(0%) deal, but now I'm rethinking my GH2 controller trade-in. Prolly just flog a bunch of games. Might snag a 360 elite with credit.

Updated wiki with espionage, sfariborz, and falcon815's info. Thanks everyone!

King of Fighters gba: 1.50 (dont remember full name of game...sorry)
Mega Man Battle Network 3: 1.00
Wheel of Fortune PS2: 6.00

Jeez, even with these deals the "deals" are laughable. To take a random example, here's what Gamestop gives on one of the transactions in the thread and the store I work at.

Gamestop:
NBA 2K6 (360) - $1/$1.40
Rayman Raving Rabbits (360) - $7/$9.80
Eragon (360) - $4/$5.60
Superman Returns (360) - $5/$7
Bioshock (360) - $25/$35
Total: $58.80

NBA 2K6 (360) - $10
Rayman Raving Rabbits (360) - $25
Eragon (360) - $10
Superman Returns (360) - $20
Bioshock (360) - $40
Extra $10 for 2 360 Games Worth More than $18 - $10
Total: $115

Thank God for mom & pop's shops. Threads like this remind me why I never step foot in a Gamestop.

Lucky you, you actually have a mom and pop store. Everyone else has to deal with Gamestop.

I think people forget that.

Also, us on the East Coast never got shit.
Does anyone know why the offer so much for Mario Kart Double Dash?
Because they're charging even more for used copies. I'm guessing that new Wii owners are asking for Mario Kart, and they're being directed to this by GS employees.

Because the bastards are selling it for $40 used right now... so lame since its still in stock most places for $30 new.
