Mark of Mastery Edition:
LOS ANGELES (May 16, 2012) – Square Enix, Inc., the publisher of SQUARE ENIX® interactive entertainment products in the Americas, today announced the Mark of Mastery Edition for the North American launch of KINGDOM HEARTS 3D [Dream Drop Distance]. Scheduled for release on July 31 for the Nintendo 3DS™ system, the box set will be available for $54.99.

The series' first collector's edition for the North American market is housed in a KINGDOM HEARTS-branded magnetic box. It will include a copy of KINGDOM HEARTS 3D [Dream Drop Distance], a branded clear hard case skin cover and 12 art cards. It also contains five augmented reality (AR) cards that allow players to unlock rare Dream Eaters such as Meowjesty, Frootz Cat and Kab Kannon, and a 360° viewing stand that allows players to take a closer look at their Dream Eaters from all angles. The Mark of Mastery Edition is an excellent opportunity for fans to commemorate the groundbreaking franchise's 10th anniversary.

I would be all over this deal if it weren't for the Mark of Mastery edition still keeping me in Amazon's clutches.

Second that... and I almost never go for LEs.

Thanks, OP. I hope I remember tomorrow. I thought my $36 preorder at Amazon was good. They are losing lots of my business to Newegg, and will be even more when they start charging Texans' tax on July 1st :(.

Just ordered. Thanks for the post, OP! I hope I remember to cancel My Amazon order (cuz part of me wants to keep it just in case they offer a good bonus, which they WILL if I cancel, lol).

Just ordered. I think that the first run of this game will include the following bonus, which shows up at Gamestop and Amazon, but both mention it is in-package:

Hopefully this one from Newegg will include it as well.

Here is the wording from Amazon:

Pre-order Bonus:
Pre-order Kingdom Hearts 3D Dream Drop Distance and get a set of AR cards that will unlock exclusive Dream Eaters in-game. The AR cards will be packed in the game box. Offer valid when shipped and sold by Amazon.com. Amazon reserves the right to change or terminate this promotion at any time. Offer will be extended to all existing pre-orders.

It will. Those "pre-order bonuses" are just packaged with first prints of the game the same way Solatorobo and Radiant Historia did their music CD "pre-order bonuses". Gamestop and Amazon just like listing them as extras so they have an excuse to not price match Toys R Us and Newegg when they offer the games for $30.

In for 1, $30 is probably the best price a 3DS game can get for a release week purchase. Thanks OP!
wonder if I should go with Newegg or Best Buy. BB may have a promo or there may be a sale/drop within 2 months!
Put in your Newegg pre-order now, you don't want to regret missing out later on if you change your mind. Plus Newegg doesn't charge till it ships.
