You asked for it and got it. Now there is even more value for our gaming customers that purchase @gamer magazine. Magazine coupons, effective June 1, are now good on sale prices. Coupons will still state that offers are NOT valid on sale prices so make sure your customers know that they can get value top of value!"

That's what I was charged, and I'm not sure if it was because I used a $15 Gamer Magazine coupon, or because the Sales Associate at Best Buy lied to me about them matching their online prices in-store? It's $41.99 online, so I assumed I was getting the game for $26.99 instead of the $32.99 I paid. I used the $15 off coupon (dropping it to $44.99), and then $12 of Reward Zone Credit (bought two items, with them applying $8 of credit to the other).

The only reason I didn't realize the mistake during checkout is because of my Reward Zone Credit. I've yet to open either game, and the more I read about this here, the more likely I'm taking both games back in hopes that they'll refund my $20 Reward Zone Credit for use online or in-store.
 
how long does it usually take for the first issue to arrive? I signed up in mid September and they didn't even give me the mag with MW3 on the cover (Sept issue?). I'd like to get either Ico Collection or GoW Origins for $15 before tax. also is it possible to apply coupons on in store pickups?

I think September's issue pictured Battlefield 3... if that's the one you're missing.

They say it can take up to 6 weeks to get your first issue. That might just be to cover their bases though. I received my first one in less than that time.
 
so disappointed with best buy. the store near me which is like 20 minutes away They didn't let me use the coupon on the online price. so then i went to the 2nd store thats nearest to me which is 1 hour and then they told me that they don't have any instock, i'm like wtf

Was able to get Deus Ex for $27 with 2 overrides - BB.com price match and @gamer coupon. Took about 30 mins while manager read and re-read the Jun1 memo.

Was thinking about trying this for ICO (though guess it prob won't be in stock) and GOW and maybe even Deus Ex, but looks like the Deus Ex price went back up?
 
Maximum suckage... Deus Ex is now listed at 59.99 on BB.com. fuck you.... Seriously... fuck you on a bed of nails... I went in yesterday and they told me to wait until the store price reflected the online price. I guess that happened this morning.... They're both 59.99! What a crock.

Best Buy is full of f#@k!n9 morons. First, it took 4 days and way too many phone calls to get my Gears of War 3 pre-order Mechanic Baird code. Then yesterday, they denied me God of War Origins Collection when they price-matched their own web price, but would not allow their own @Gamer $10 off coupon.

Seriously, WTF Best Buy....really??!

Morons hiring morons...talking with these doorstops is friggin aggravating as hell.

They have pissed me off in the last 2 weeks more than I care to remember. They're probably gonna screw up my Arkham City Robin bonus, too. Aaarrrgh, f#@k!!
 
Managed to find a copy of Ico today, the coupon didn't scan with the sales price. They did an override though so I'm happy.

I remember someone saying they got the coupon to work without an override, but how?
 
ok, I did what enuf suggested and pm'ed a couple mods on the BB forum about getting RZ points equivalent to the coupons but I have yet to hear back from them and I sent the message sunday morning...

I ordered DE:HR from AWD for $30 the other day but I'd rather refuse the shipment if BB would honor the coupon and sale price. Game gets here in a couple days so if I don't hear back from the folks on the BB forum, I'll just return my BB copy and keep the AWD one.

They are massively backed up from the whole GoW3 preorder bonus not going out to a majority of customers. Turn around is about 48 hours - 72 Hours right now.
 
Here's something to think about if you find a copy of Ico/SotC but the manager refuses to take the coupon. You might try buying the game anyway and taking it to another store where they're friendlier/know you better.

There was only one Best Buy in the state that still had a copy yesterday. I called and had them put it on hold for me. When I got there the first thing I did was go to the game shelves, and lo and behold there was the only copy they had; not being held for me at all. I grabbed it immediately (marked $24.99 on the shelf), verified that there wasn't one on hold for me, then attempted to check out in the Games section. When the coupon wouldn't scan, they called the manager. The manager looked at it for 5 seconds and said "It's on sale, it won't work." I politely showed him the Forum posts on BestBuy.com and was told "That could be anybody." I mentioned the employee newsletter and he said "That's from June, I can't honor that." That manager went on to say that Best Buy managers can't do overrides (which was hilarious, because that exact same manager just did an override for the person in front of me while I was standing there). So I rolled my eyes, bought it, and left.

Today I took the game, receipt, and coupon to another store. They did a manual override, gave me the value of the coupon back in credit, and sent me on my way in about 10 minutes.

Great option. If you dont want to do this PM Kyle on the BBY policy forums. They can either call up the store themselves before you go to enlighten management there or at times , not always, they can issue you RZ points in the difference.

Many people have stated that they do have someone call the store and that they were "expected" when they went in.

Haven't gotten mine yet either. Oh well maybe ICO/SoC will be in stock again by then...and heck maybe the coupon will work without an override by then too.
 
I checked the stock at my store for Ico and it said that there were 6 in stock. I asked the only guy I could find if there were any. I normally avoid him because he is less likely to bend rules (he denied my Madden pm because it was online only).
He said there weren't any on the floor, but he thinks they came in today and were still in the back boxed. Surprisingly he spent about 15 minutes looking for it.

When he came out I was talking to my "regular" gamer guy. I prefer him because he feels that it's better to make a repeat customer out of you, rather than to let you walk out for a sale. So while he was pming my Rage to take off the $10 gc that Target was offering, the 1st guy came out and said we have some and that's a great deal @ $24.99.

Then I try to hand the coupon to the guy I'm already working with, but the 1st guy steps in and starts ringing up Ico. They both were SOOOOO excited to see that there was a coupon to go with ICO. It didn't scan, and I got worried he would deny it as he was inspecting the coupon. Then he typed in the overide, I handed over my $10 in reward zone points and paid the other $5 with my trade in credit.

I was thrilled picked up Rage and Ico for $65 and NO money out of pocket :)

Nice, I tried to pick up ICO/SotC with the coupon but it didnt work for me, apparently the coupons don't work with sales or special promotions or something idk, i didnt really push it since I wasnt exactly sure what to expect, but if you're gonna make people sign up for subscriptions that have coupons in them, then you should honor those coupons no matter what the price is, that is what they are paying for anyway, i think ill try this again at my back up bestbuy
 
Got denied the use of the $10 off coupon for the only copy of Ico/SotC at my local BB. He kept saying it doesn't stack with sale prices. He tried it a couple times for me different ways but he was sure it didn't stack - even read the back of the coupon to me.

Also, I didn't realize GoW:OC had to be pricematched to their website. I was bummed when it rang up $39.99. I just passed on the entire deal. I'll try another BB tomorrow.

Sucks.

BB isnt gonna PM the website and then give you the discount for the coupon.

Im fuckn pissed right now. Wtf is the point of the fuckn mag if prices are gonna be cheaper on bb.com than in the store even after using the @gamer coupon?!?!?

^This. I would be less pissed about things like this if they at least TRIED to make it seem like the coupons will have some sort of advantage over the regular customer. Hold off on sales that make the coupon an inferior deal until the coupons expires at least. If you are going to fuck me at least I can pretend you are some hot blonde and not a sweaty hairy dude.
 
I guess I had some luck today. First store got some ICO in and I had 1 held. My gamer mag didn't come but they said no big deal and would just scan the coupon in the book. Total still reflected $25 + tax so they overrode to $15. Had to go to another store to get GOW:OC and they made me buy the magazine but did the online PM and overrode to apply the coupon. Not bad.

I just got back from BB. I was picking up GOW for in store pickup, and tried to use my coupon on ICO / SotC. Cashier could not get the system to take it, she called an associate from games over, and he said you can't use the coupon with the sale price.

I did not buy ICO / SotC, and actually asked to return GOW as well, and was told that they have to wait 2 hours after you pick up an item before they can return it.

I am really not happy with Best Buy, and will do my best to avoid purchasing anything there in the future.
 
The magazine is more than worth it with the extra 10% trade in. I already got more than what the sub worth back. It's just that some coupons are going to be a pain in the ass, like this one.

I didn't get my 10% today. Considering I'd been there for an hour, I decided to just cut my losses.
 
Went in this morning to pick up Rage and to try and get my $30 back from Ico/GOW that I picked up last week... rep kept insisting I could only apply the coupon to one game. I finally agreed, and got $20 back. They also inadvertently wound up crediting my $15 RZ cert back as well, but the kicker: after making such a huge deal about "1 offer per coupon," she put the coupon in the bag with my receipt and Rage. So I could go back and try to get my other $10 back if I feel so inclined (which I do not presently...)...:roll:

I checked the Brooklyn center and coon rapids, MN stores, neither would take the coupon. Anyone know a store in the Mpls area taking them?
 
The title of this thread should really be changed since the $15 titles and the DE:HR is super ymmv. More miss than hit.

Go to the BB policy forums and PM Kyle. tell him your situation. Turn around time is 48-72 hours. He can 1)call your store to enlighten them on what they should be doing or 2) possibly give you the $ difference in RZ points.

If you really want ico then buy it and deal with it that way. If you only want the deal if you can get it right now then accept that you may not get the deal.
