No problem, the Ridge Racer series just happens to be my favorite racing series (well, it's pretty much the only track racing series left). I would like to note though that you may or may not receive the extra 60 fps RR1 disc from EB since it's pre-owned. Just hope...though it's not that big a deal anyway.
Hopefully, you have a GameShark or some other cheat device. Otherwise, if you plan on getting all the car variations (car models plus team colors), it'll take over 60 hours (and it's not worth it IMO). However, within 10 hours, you should easily be able to obtain all the car models.
And if this game will be one of your first racers, you're in luck: R4 seemed to have been deliberately made to control smoothly for folks new to racers. You can grip curves easily with certain cars and power slide without fear of spinning out as opposed to RRV where you have to drift pretty much every corner or the earlier RR's where you'll easily spin out of control if you're not used to the rough and strict drifting maneuvers. Anyway, have fun!
