Like someone else said. A glorified State of Emergency with zombies.

The utlimate question: is it worth $60?

In my opinion no. A price-drop is definitely worth waiting for.
 
the demo is great.

as moding weapons go, i haven't gotten to try it [ and don't know if it's even possible ] yet but what came to mind is:

-put cooking oil in deep fryer
-heat oil
-put oil in squirt gun

i pre-ordered in full [ + free shipping ] at Outpost.com i'm very tempted to goto the store and pick the game up when it's released, and returning the copy i got in the mail to the store.
 
I agree with this demo is so much fun. Love all the new demos.

I just dont know if its worth 60, feels like it will get a little dull, but still fun.

How do I get the masks on the zombies head? Saw it in the trailer.

Go to the Toy Store w/ the Lightsaber. (Not the one w/ Servbot.) They're sitting there for you to pick up, then just hit the zombie with it (I think.)
 
scorch, how did you get it to work? Was it a fluke? Or did you add the intercooler/change the position of the 360 from horizontal to vertical or vice versa?
 
Woke up this morning at around 4 am and saw this topic. Booted up my 360 away and downloaded it and went back to sleep. Woke up a couple of hours later and it finished and played about 20 min of it and loved every sec of it. One of the reasons I got a 360 and I cant wait til it finally comes out tomorrow.
 
I'm not feeling this game. Its so dull, kill Zombie, run around find stuff to throw at zombie etc. I've read that no matter how you play the acutal game that it will always last 72 game hours. I agree with everyone that it seems like State of Emergeceny with zombies. I think me buying Stubbs the zombie might be better then getting this game at $60.
 
Love the demo. Big fan of zombie films so I might be a bit biased. I'm glad to see there is plenty of gore!
So glad I pre-ordered this!

BTW, graystone, Stubbs is a really fun and charismatic game but way too short. I played through it about 4-5 hours. You should give it a whirl!

I finally played the demo....I like it. I'll probably get it (my B-day is this week anyways...the 8th). I thought the controls were a little sluggish, but I was swinging a sledgehammer...so it's expected. I like topping the zombies head with the toys....bonus on the picture too :)

Same. I agree there is some gimmickry to it to make it more appealing, but I can't see getting long-term enjoyment out of this. Maybe when it gets to $20 I'll give it a shot.

Damn, I wish I would have caught this post earlier....this is by far my slowest download yet...I'm only at 29% after an 1 hour and 20 minutes:cry:
 
This took hella long for me to DL. I played through it twice. Is there any point to the demo? I just kill zombies, wander off somewhere and a cutscene appears. Am I missing something?

Nope, they purposely surround the area with cutscenes to get you hyped and wondering what's going to happen. I think there are four cutscenes total you can find... the entrance plaza, the movie theater, leisure park, and at night when the zombies change.

I want to get the full game because those cutscenes are hella good and it shows there will be more to the game than just zombies.

Basacially it's a timed demo (I think the same one from E3) just to get a feel of the atmosphere and combat.

I didn't catch "Jills Sandwiches" until you posted it. I love all the Capcom references in this game :)

I did absolutely nothing. I played Saint's Row for ten or fifteen minutes, and since then, it's worked fine every time. I took my HD to a friend's and played the demo there, then took it back here and tried it.. it's worked every time since. Weirdest thing ever.

Try to put the plates on the bar in the microwave, see if that does anything.

Anyone playing this on a normal TV find it hard to read the text? Played it on a HDTV and I could read the text.. played it on a normal TV and it's hard to read. Same with other games, like Fight Night Round 3. I hate that.
 
To get the katana:

Go up to the restaurant on the second floor. Look over the balcony rail nearest to the food counter, and you should see it sitting on top of a red awning. Jump down to get it.

Anyone wanna help out with the bowling ball?

Didn't some of the games you tried playing that froze (Table Tennis?) work when you removed the HD?

Maybe you should try to get a new HD for $15. Might be worth it if your shit stops freezing. Even if it doesn't, it's only $15.
 
Cool game, WAY better then I thought it would be but the demo was 30 secs long the first run through. I ran to the theater right away and the Connan priest was all set with his sword.
 
Just FYI, there is orange juice in the colobian roast store. It's in the freezer thing to the right of the blender. Mix a pie and orange juice and you become untouchable. Still have to try mixing the bread & pie and bread & orange juice or use the snack with any of the other ingredients.
 
Loving the demo... took aim with the golf club and balls and just started mowing zombies down... damn demo doesnt last long enough... at least I only have less than a week to get my copy

Favorite weapon was the katana sword... damn body parts were flying everywhere

Ill have to try the pie/oj combo next time I play
 
It seemed to me like State of Emergency really. I think it'll get rave reviews for the fact that it has a lot of cool features, but I got bored of it once I ran out of things to do.
 
downloading right now since I just got back from work... no fare that everyoen else go to be playing this already, but I can't complain since I'll have the full game on wednsday.

Considering the demo is only 15 minutes long, that's not surprising.

Please, this game will be in a completely different level than State of Emergency.
 
I was surprised at how much fun I had with the demo. Was unimpressed by the videos - but it's a lot of fun to play!
 
I was cackling evily the whole time. Its fucking great. I loved nailing zombies in the face with the bowling ball. :lol:

One of the most useless yet most humorous weapons has to be the Gems. You break the display cases at the jewelry store and you pick up hand fulls of gems. Think of it like a shotgun that does almost no damage and costs $10k a shot. You can actually kill a zombie with them, it just takes a lot.

The golf club was awesome, it took me a bit to find out that its actually a ranged weapon though. You can charge the bowling ball attack to the point where it takes off legs. :lol:

Servbot helm+little boy clothes+ track shoes+full body mirror+ camera = "ha ha"

The stacks of plates were fun to kill with. Right to the throat!

CDs were sadly underpowered. I was hoping for vinyl ala Shaun of the Dead.
I cant wait for drills and chainsaws and other yet to be named instuments of undeath.
 
Haven't been able to download the demo yet, but it's really good to hear that almost everyone seems to love the demo. Finally, a new game 360 game that I can pick up and not feel guilty about the price tag.

agreed. It'll probably be the first 360 game I'll be buyign that pays off the price equally.

I agree it'll be on a completely different level than State of Emergency, the only problem I see is I'll wait to do the missions until after I've figured out what everything does and all the ways to kill zombies, and by that time I'll be bored of them. There's only so many times slicing zombies in half is amusing (which is a lot of times).
 
This game is the real fucking deal.

I was very skeptical about this game, but man I haven't laughed that hard while playing a game in a long while.

Baseball bat and boomerang for the fucking win!

I have a normal TV with component-in and it looks pretty good. Looks less than crappy on regular TV composite hookups. I never noticed how much a difference component makes even if it isn't HD.
 
Anyone get the childrens plastic lazer sword? That thing cracks me up. It does no damage but damn if it's not funny to hear the lightsaberesque sound.

That and the purse crack me up.. the purse does pretty much no damage but it does knock 'em down.
 
Man, you guys are keeping up my excitement for the game. I don't have a 360 yet but the likelihood of my Wii60 combo is looking more plausible every day.
 
I found this on a comment from major nelsons site...
When you start the demo, go forwards to the stairs. Then jump to the blue awning on the right and walk to the end of it (to the entrance plaza or whatever it was) You'll find a uzi on the last ledge.
