Is there anything I can do to prevent my ass getting handed to me everytime I open up the elevator and there are 30 zombies there?
I started opening the door, run, and standing to the side. Then zombies will walk out 1-2 at a time, waiting to be bashed.

so I guess if you die at the beginning the otis saves you and you start on the couch. I tried to kill them all I got to like 150 before I ran out of bats and snacks. I tried to get the shot gun but it was too late.

For some reason, I can never seem to remove clothing items after I try them on. I hit B like it says but I get stuck with the item. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong.

Throw a bench at em or parasol their asses :)
ohhh. I was doing that, until I got a kill shot with the barbell. oops.

Now im getting killed by Carlito, on the 6am, day 2 mission
When I did that the dude "defected" and turned against me and wouldnt be my ally. What's with those hooligans in the Hummer???!!

It seems all the NPCs are good for is dying :( Is there any good tactic to take with these guys?

Wtf I can read anything that janitor guy says when he calls you, nor can I read any of the objectives when you look at your watch this is dumb, iare the things he says important?

Is the North Plaza someplace you're not supposed to go to until later in the game or after you're at a much higher level? I'm currently waiting for 6am for the second set of cases to start, and the mall is pitch dark practaclly (What mall ever turns off the lights inside?) and there's not much to do. I made my way over to the north plaza, but it's so over run by zombies, that's it's practacally impossible to do anything there yet.

Dude, your post made me smile. I imagine you walking into the north mall, seeing all those zombies and turning back looking scared and defeated. You should just go balls out and explore. If you have no missions, wait about 30 seconds and otis starts buggin the heck out of you. He'll give you something to do. Also, Its fun finding ways to kill zombies. In the north mall there are these guys waking around pushing canisters of gas (helium maybe?) grab a gun, point and shoot. BOOOM Zombie Free hallway.

If you are just leaving the security room, to the left of the elevator there is a propane tank, just put it infront of the door then open it and get a couple of the zombies to see you. Then run a safe distance away and shoot it.

Leaves you with an almost empty elevator, just pick up the baseball bat and finish them off.

When you leave the air vent or whatever go to the left insted of the right, then go through the door, it takes you to the warehouse.

I don't see a problem with the save system in this game so far per-se, my issue though is more with the fact that there doesn't seem to be ENOUGH places to save. So far I've found the Security Room, and the Bathroom in the Entrance plaza, other then that I haven't found jack squat.
When you leave the air vent or whatever go to the left insted of the right, then go through the door, it takes you to the warehouse.
huh? Isn't that door sealed off? The one behind otis?
Their so many mixed reviews about this game I keep hearing like good , but is it a game to buy , rent or a buy at like a discount?
Okay I'm going to bump this. Also I finally got to play demo game seemed cool camera kind of bothered me a little , but still have no idea this game seems cool and shows their can be plenty of fun but how much is that fun worth.
huh? Isn't that door sealed off? The one behind otis?
It is after you have gone through the air ducts, instead of going to the elevator to the right go to the left, and all the way down there will be a door to take you to the wherehouse.

Well, I played for an hour and a half, got killed, and had to start all over. I'm pissed, and probably won't play the game for a few days. The demo is more fun to me. Way to fuck up a great game via lack of saving options.

I got one better for you elevator people. You can push the button to go up/down with zombies still in it! I just rush in and push the button.

what he said
Any tips for the Hatchet man? He's beating the crap out of me :/
Apparently the best thing against him is a couple shottys. I wasn't able to defeat him because I couldn't find the shotguns (which BTW are in the gun store in North Plaza, first right, down a corridor if you come in from the security office side) so I just bypassed the mission. He gives you a key though if you do beat him (BTW who ever asked about the maintaince key, chances are you have to take down a psycho to get it).

Anyway, I just beat the game and got the true ending. Man, that was insane. The plot is a little ridiculous and seriously pokes fun at Americans, but after you get over you initial frustrations, it's a pretty great game. The only big complaint I still have is about the ending fight (don't worry no spoilers here). The frame rate drops big time and it makes the fight more difficult than it already is. That's all.

Oh for anyone wondering (I know I was), if you save after beating the game and then load that save and play 72 hour mode, you start over with whatever level you finished the game last time with, and all your abilities. You DO NOT keep your kill count though, and I'm not sure if survivors or portraits are transfered either. I forgot to look if you keep your PP but I doubt it. Otherwise, the PP leaderboards would be pointless (I made it to 68th overall BTW with 2M+).

No wait nevermind I found a good way to kill him. But it involves killing the crazy gun store owner. Im too tired to keep playing tonight, so I'm giving it a rest.
So, by using your defination, Madden 07 could be considered to be Survival Football because you're trying to survive an entire season.

Survival Horror is a bullshit term Resident Evil nerds started using to describe the game's unique elements. Rather than admit that Resident Evil was nothing but a brilliant 3rd person action/adventure game, we decided to "invent" a new genre and called it Survival Horror.
Alright Princess peach.

I wished that the Survival part of the game played a bigger role than just having a 72 time limit. And yes it has a survival part.
Here is a video I found on how to find the maintence key

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e6Dro8KWuJg

What does it do exactly?
Opens a door to the mall from the underground maintainance area (looks like a parking garage) I think. It comes in handy for that mission 7-2 I was bitching about earlier in the thread.

I really need to start saving. I get so into killing zombies and plotting elaborate pictures and ways to kill tons of zombies at once, then I die in the process. Haven't made it past 1-4

this game is so damn fun though, very underrated/misunderstood so far.

btw, is there any way to save people in the very first scene?

I've never been more flat out fucking annoyed with a game. I can't read the text because I don't have an hdtv, I really don't give a shit about the fucking fatass woman with the huge glasses, I actually stun gunned her ass until she died, the fucking phone/walkie talkie that rings over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over, even if you answer it.

I can't do this annoying ass story mode. I'm going to hang on to it for now in hopes that there's a code that unlocks the unlimited mode. I killed all the storyline people and chose to continue to play and I ran around the mall. Freaked me out when the lights went out at night. The game's great when trying to survive, but when it's like

JANE SMITH IS DEAD! over 90% of the screen for like five seconds.. ugh. I don't care about Jane Smith, I don't care that she died, get that fucking text off the screen! I almost died like four times because of it.
So in the unlimited mode, is it just free play? Are there any side missions? Any catch?
From what i've heard, it's just you, the zombies, and the mall.

And that's all I want.

Damn, talk about picky.

How do I save people? Do I have to drag them all the way to where I started or are there doors in each wing of the mall to get them back?
I think you have to beat the game to get unlimited mode scorch.
..duh. Hence why I was ranting and raving that I can't DO the story mode because I can't read the objectives.. and why I want a code to unlock the unlimited mode.

As much as i like the game, the boss fights, contain the one thing i hate in games. Having to shoot a human character 30 time in the head. As much realism as they try to achieve in games, this always takes me out. At least in Syphon Filter PSP, for example, a well placed sniper shot could end a boss fight quickly.

Me and the zombies go die after a few shots....

OK I'm just ranting after getting killed in the gun shop. And he judo throws you, if you get behind the counter?!?

Hehe, I hear in the Japanese version of the game you cannot kill the innocent civiallians...

Censored!

I'm gonna pick up this game on Monday! Excited!

Yeah, I agree with you, however, the alternative would be sad and far too easy. I am reminded of one of the boss fights in the Punisher where the guy is wearing a bullet-proof vest and the Punisher says "this is gonna have to be a headshot." I walk in there expecting to pop the guy in the head once and be on my way but the guy takes about 100 rounds to the head before he drops.
Damn I was actually hoping there was sidequests in the unlimited mode.

It would make saving 50 survivors a lot easier.
I can't say for sure, but I THINK Infinite Mode is just the game without the main storyline stuff, i.e. all the side missions and psychopath battles are still optional. Not sure though.

waiting for copter... almost done with game :) badass so far really.

I love the whole reason why the zombies exist :) pure awsomenessisiteynesperatosapian!

anyone find the megaman outfit yet?

I love the game so far (although I'm only playing bits at a time), but I think the majority of my playtime is going to come in Unlimited mode. God I can't wait to get Unlimited mode.

Ok heres a tip for anyone having trouble with the gun shop owner (cletus)

Rush the counter, swipe a sniper, leave the store, and snipe him from a distance!

Woo finally beat him...now on to hatchet man and then back to the story!
:bomb: :bomb: :bomb: Shit. Does anyone have any advance against Carlito, Day 2, 6am, besides hoping I get lucky with a few pistols?
Grab an SMG, 2 handguns, and 2 OJ's. Run and hide behind the pillars on the LEFT side (opposite of Brad) and continue to advance to the next pillar when Carlito gets shot and stunned, than when you get to the last one, just take out your guns and shoot him. Should be easy. If you run out of ammo, just run around and make Carlito miss and Brad should be able to take him out.

I'd also suggest a strong melee weapon for Carlito. If you run out of ammo by chance, you can run up to him (make sure to zigzag as to avoid his shots) and whack him. Me and my friend got a kick out of me hitting him with the hot frying pan.

there needs to be a code to unlock it.. like.. now. :joystick:
