Dead Rising in action
Capcom needs to release a fucking demo ASAP. Even one of the timed demos at E3 would be enough.
I get this bad feeling they wont until after the game comes out like GRAW. I am by no means saying this because the game wont be good, hell I'm buying it on day one, but with so much hype surrounding it, they might want everyone to quick buy it on hype alone w/o a demo to sway their opinion.

i need to play a demo of this...

$60 for killing zombies is just too much to ask.

at least we're getting webisodes which isn't entirely great, but still good. I'm liking how polished everything is turning out. I still gotta reserve this, but I'm in no hurry since I've got some time still.

You can polish a turd but it will still be a turd at the end of the day.

I want the game to be awesome, it looks awesome, it was one of the reasons I got my 360, but until I've got a demo or SOMETHING in my hands I can actually play I'm going to withhold judgement.

Capcom could easily put out one of the timed E3 demo's, hell they gave us a Lost Planet demo waaaaay in advance, they fact they are withholding the demo kind of worries me.

he looked WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more goofy when the game was first announced.

EDIT Here is what he looked like over a year ago

I don't think they'll release a demo for this just because of the nature of the game. The whole point is that you have the whole mall to move around in an do your killing. A demo that would give you a sense of it would pretty much include the entire game world. I don't think it'll happen.

I think some of you have become way too spoiled and whiney about demos. I love when they're available, but I'm not sure when you guys started feeling that you're entitled to a demo before buying a game.

I'll just be waiting for some reviews...

Although I agree that most of us have become whiney and spoiled, Xbox Live is a service you must pay for. We should come to expect lots of demos and videos when paying up to $50 a year for this.

I also believe we're entitled to demos before buying a game. You wouldn't buy a car before you gave it a test drive, would you?

The timed demo that was at E3 is perfect for this... it was 15 minutes or so IIRC, and that was it. It was a good sampling, something to get your feet wet and get you even more hyped up.

Normally I wouldn't care, but Capcom gave us a demo for Lost Planet months and months in advance, at least give us the 15 minute timed download just to see how the game plays. When you think about it, August's other big releases (N3 and Saints Row) already have demo's as well, it kinda sucks I can't try out this game.

$60 is alot to throw down without giving the game a test drive, no matter how small.

I'm still sticking to what I said a few posts up about a demo. I think Capcom feels since this is so hyped they wont release a demo so they will have a much higher number of early adopters.

Only 10 days till the game comes out anyway, so if a demo does come out, I'll be shocked.

XBOX LIVe is FREE. Remeber, Silver and Gold now. Demos can be had for FREE. It's a major BONUS for everyone. Yes, it's always nice to have a demo, but I bet they want the early adopters to get it DAY1. Then, we may see a demo after that....who knows. Maybe it'll be on the next OXM (ala Saint's Row)

If you are that worried about it, you could easily go down to your local blockbuster and rent it on day 1.

With Xbox Live you pay for the ability to play online against other people not free demos.

Wow, after watching those videos I'm pushing myself against a 360. I loved Stubbs, and this game seems to be a much better game in a similar vein. I'm impressed, and overall not too many games do that now. I'll be getting this within a week after I get the system.
Looks like there's an untimed mode. Look at the omega acheivement.
Welcome to sixty replies ago.

We're almost a week away now.. I can't wait

I thought about that too, but at something like E3 you can have a full game load and have it time out. If it still requires the entire environment to load, file size my be an issue.

And as Doubledown pointed out, Silver LIVE is free = demos are free.

And I think the car analogy is inappropriate. That's tens of thousands of dollars instead of $60. A more appropriate analogy may be dinner at a nice restaraunt. No one's gonna cook up a filet mignon for you to taste it and decide whether you'll pay for it or not...

I like demos as much as the next person, I just get tired of spoiled kids thinking they're owed something or they deserve something.
There IS a way to try it before buying it, it's called "renting". It's what people used to do before the convienience of the downloadable demo.
QFT

Silver membership and renting are both great points. However, renting is quite expensive. BEFORE the downloadable demo, renting a game was affordable. Isn't it like $7-8 for 5 days from Blockbuster?

That's true, I never did think of that... it might be physically impossible to put up a demo in that case. I wonder if Oblivion has the same problem, and that's why there's no demo for that either? It would just be too damn big.

I'm still getting it day 1, just hoping against hope the hype pans out... shit, I've even got gamer pics for Dead Rising ;)

Unless the hype overwhelms me (which is entirely possible since I'm getting paid the week before this comes out and will be entirely able to purchase the game) I want to rent this one before it comes out. I almost jumped on the prey bandwagon, thank god I waited on that one. I rented it and I'm more than halfway through.. boy does it suck. I keep falling asleep while playing. Weird.

Yeah, but it you get it the first day you could just use the Buy It Now feature which puts that $7-8 towards the purchase price.

Man I think this is the game that's gonna push me to get a 360 ASAP. Just reading that achievement list got me wanting the game even more.

well the demo will answer alot of peoples gripes. Also as a note, the webisodes and trailers aer put up on Xbox Marketplace as well.

The webisodes at least give some good insight that there will be a bit of veriety on the cast and that the story won't take a backseat.
Has the release date been confirmed for the 8th? Please?
yep, the 8th is the official release. it's been stable like that for the past 2 months, so I'm sure it's absolute.

However it just says news about a demo will come out in the next 48 hours, not a demo.
Quit being logical! :D

Downloaded the extended tv commercial on the marketplace... at the end of it, it says "Demo coming soon to XBL Marketplace" so we're getting something.

It's funny. I saw a commercial on ESPN and some other channels last night and they didn't show a drop of redness the entire time. The one on the Marketplace has blood a plenty, though.

I'm really excited about this game. Only 6 more days to go! :)

Also I wish that Capcom would've put the release date of the game in the commercials for it. I work retail and it's just annoying to have tons of people call for the game since they think it's out. Then argue..."I saw the commerical for it...are you sure?"

I'm sick of waiting for the damn demo! PUT IT UP! Its nice to have a game that i'm really looking forward to. The last game I was this excited about was the release of HL2. I've been waiting for this since I first read about it.

Lmao, best part about the new preview....When he kicks the soccer ball at the fat lady hahahaha i about pissed myself laughing

not only that what, what are the pro's and cons. Although, i dont really give a flying fuck. I dont need some nerdy journalist to tell me what i should and shouldn't like.
