Dead Space 2 (360 & PS3 Pre-Order) $49.25 on Amazon FSS

Monsta Mack

CAGiversary!
http://www.amazon.com/Dead-Space-2-..._1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1260930271&sr=1-1 360 version

If your looking forward to this I would pre-order now, and maybe a gift card offer down the road? Not bad for a pre-order price.

Apologize for the rush post meant to put 360 in the title thread.

Amazon is accepting pre-orders for Dead Space 2, which they list with a release date of March 31, 2011.

Go here to pre-order for PS3.

Thanks OP, i pre-ordered along with "Guitar Hero: Jonas Brothers Edition", "Call of Duty 6: Nazi's In Space" and also "Even NEWER Super Mario Bros".
:applause:

I hope it turns out to be as good as the original.. they have a totally different developer though.. not the same development studio that did the 1st game, which although was a bit repetitive, was one of the best games last year. We will see how this new developer does I guess.

I'm pretty sure Visceral Games that did Dead Space 1 is also working on Dead Space 2 -- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visceral_Games

Do you know any games that turned out to be better than the previous one after its developer changed?
I can only think of Left 4 Dead.
I haven't played the first yet (getting it for xmas), but I'm going to put in a pre-order to lock in the price just in case I end up loving DS1 like everyone else seems to have. EDIT: only problem is I have a $10 coupon from NSBMWii and it will get applied to this pre-order. No doubt I'll want to buy something else between now and then, so I'd have to cancel this pre-order anyway in order to get the coupon back. Hmmm.
If you're still in this situation, pre-order something else to use your credit, put in your deadspace pre-order, cancel the first one to get the credit back.

same development team, but the studio's head producer did leave for activision...

AFAIK, the core designers/artists/programmers are still at visceral though

In for one ps3 copy. I also got my GI on monday with DS2 on the cover. Was the first thing I read. I have plenty of games to keep me busy til then though, so no rush. Take the time to do it right!
it will most likely drop in half after a few months like the first one.
Nobody bought the first one because the big ticket reviewers all gave it a mid range score and EA dropped the ball on marketing.Word of mouth on how great it was spread and used copies sold like hotcakes.Combine that with the fact that EA announced theres going to be significantly less titles from them hitting the shelves in 2010, and I doubt it will drop as quick.

Still I agree its way to early to preorder ,especially for CAG'ers. You know theres going to be deals with in-game items and SE's galore the closer it gets to drop.
I would cuz its a great price! But i'ma wait for Collectors Edition, i'm sure their will be one.
At this price, you really should lock it in. You can always cancel later and order the special edition.
same month as FF XIII... Day one for me however
Same month, wrong year. We'll see if it doesn't actually come out sooner though.

Oh crap!! Didnt notice :( got excited for nothing!
Not biting on this one... 15 months? I'm liable to find a better deal and forget about my preorder. Not worth it imo
Doubtful you're gonna find a better than $50 (likely no sales tax) on release day for a AAA title like Dead Space 2.

Thing is(and this won't apply to everyone) it may be better to go rent it and then buy it down the road to get the other cheevos, or just wait 1 month after release for the same price as this.... Might even get the collector's edition if it has anything of value to offer.

Overall though I don't preorder a game more than... 6 months in advance if that unless it's collector's edition. Who knows where I'll even be in a year? lol

I don't see why people are having so much apprehension about this...a pre-order on Amazon over a year in advance...you'll have plenty of time to cancel and it is super easy to do. May as well lock in the price and you can always change your mind later!

Of course, this is assuming you have any interest in Dead Space 2 in the first place...otherwise, yes, this is a silly thread for you (but why did you click in it? :)).

Because I loved the first game and didn't know anything about part 2 being released so soon. So, I clicked on the link only to find out that we're talking about a game being released nearly 1 1/2 years from now. It would have helped to have the date in the title.
Repost friend. :\
Sorry, I searched and didn't see it listed...

Honestly, when I just searched again to see if I was blind I'm still only seeing this thread.

Anyhow, the powers that be are more than welcome to delete this thread if its needed. I just want to make sure world go out. :)
Dead Space dropped like a rock. I imagine the sequel will do the same.
Haha, figured they wouldn't waste any time with the sequel and just drop it like a rock months before release.
It's in the first post.
And I was responding to someone asking "but why did you click in it" referring to this thread. I think my response makes perfect sense, yours not so much.
Haha, figured they wouldn't waste any time with the sequel and just drop it like a rock months before release.
Uh...he was referring to the price.
Dead Space dropped like a rock. I imagine the sequel will do the same.
I actually doubt it will... The first one's quality caught allot of people off guard and I think allot of people who bought it later would have gotten it day one if they had only known. (And the more people who buy it when it first comes out the longer it will stay at a higher price.)

Granted, if the economy stats the same as it is this year who knows what will happen... I've seen lots, and lots of great games basically given away for free for various holiday sales.

Anyhow, I would preorder if you have any interest (at least as a day one purchase) As you can always cancel later. (and I'm sure Amazon will be happy to let you do so... as I bet they fix the price before too long.

PS Thanks whoever merged my thread into this one... :)

How are some of you getting Amazon to combine orders since they don't allow preorders to be combined? AKA what are you saying in your emails to them?

-Contact button
-The one box, I forget name of, choose "ordering items" or whatever
-Add order # on next line that you want items added to
-body consists of "Hi, I'd like to add "blah blah" for xbox 360, ASIN: #########(it's on each item's page, scroll a page or so down) to this order"

Between 1 and like 6 hours later
"I've added "blah blah" to your order, thank you for shopping at amazon etc etc"

Easy.

Nice I got it to work.

Nope. Why do I get the, for lack of a better word, retarded customer service reps? I did that and they just spewed some FAQ bullshit to me. This happens to me all the time.

Hello,

While you can't add an item to an open order, you can (for many items) place a new order and then combine orders via the Your Account page (http://www.amazon.com/your-account). Just go to the Orders section and click "View Recent and Open Orders." Keep in mind that some restrictions apply.

If you are unable to combine an order, place a new order for the same item in Amazon retail store and write back to us with the order number by using the following link. So that we will be able to combine it for you.Items offered by third-party sellers on our site may not be eligible for Amazon.com promotions

Popped up in my Gold Box for an additional 5% off so I decided to lock it in for $46. I can't see myself turning this down on Day 1 after how amazingly good the first one was.

I don't quite understand how you get specific items in your gold box... I get books and stuff and I only bought a book once on Amazon

You have to manipulate your recommendations

like check the dont use for recommendations for anything not a game to have a higher chance of getting games

Like Someone123 said, you need to tinker with your recommendations. It can be a pretty daunting affair at first because you'll need to sort through everything you've ever purchased at Amazon. Once you you filter it down to only games (I go so far as to limit it to the systems I own), you should start seeing them in your Gold Box. I have, even after filtering my recommendations, still wound up with some odd deals in my box. I think it may also look at your browsing history, which I try to clear daily (might just turn it off). Hope that helps.

Use Jodou's method. The link is under his sig. It took a bit longer than i thought but after that i can usually force the box to show my wanted game in a few days.

That's weird.

I've added 5 items to an open order. 1 item, then another, then 3 at once. The first was a pre-order, the second was a game already out, the 3 at once were all pre-orders. The only problem I had was the first time I tried, I got a reply saying they were not sure what I wanted and I should include the ASIN number, which I have since.

Try again I suppose.

Yea, I've gotten the FAQ response before. My advice is to wait a day or so, to improve your odds of getting a different CSR, then try again. Took me about 3 tries to get this one added.
