dunno why some people are complaining, its a good time to pick up all those $20 compilations
You're on a message board, that's why. Complaining is our lot in life. ;)
toysrus has very few of the good board games, the kind you'd want to buy. But it doesn't matter since most americans are only interested in risk and new editions of monopoly (simpsons, star wars, golf, etc).

For good games, check out http://www.boardgamegeek.com/
That's quite a generalization. The sale is great when they have it and I can't wait to pounce on the Star Wars DVD Trivial Pursuit when it's on sale.

Yeah, my fiancee and I have been browsing the board games whenever we go (its something to keep her focus away from my video game purchasing). Its kind of annoying that they took all the big green tags away though, you have to hope that the sticker is still on the box in front or you'll never find the sale ones. So B1G1F would be great.
Meh. The rumor is it doesn't work with the Green Tag sale items either. Double meh.
Suddenly a game starring basketball legend Shaquille O'neal comes to mind
the real B2G1 FREE is OCT 23,2005, I will give my SEAL OF TRUTH on this one, straight from DM mouth yesterday, :)
Guess I'll have to go over this weekend and see if there's anything that I would even think about getting over $20 and go from there.

I'll wait for someone a little more trustworthy like Zon27, tubtub or benboxer on this issue, for some real confirmation.

Agree! I've been waiting for this sale just to pick a few up!

Got my Player's Choice titles out of the way last week (Mario Sunshine, Wind Waker, Animal Crossing), so I'll have to see what is left at TRU, and if I'll need to PM at Best Buy.

eh, nothing i haven't bought yet is $20 or below yet. unless God of War or Ninja Gaiden miraculously dropped to $20, I'm gonna pass on this.

Well, considering previous years, the apply the green tag price first, and THEN whatever is lowest is free.

Every year I pig out here, but that was considering last year as the big Green Tag blowout. Since then I caught onto CAG and have just raided Circuit Cities and Gamestops during their big sales.

:) I work at toys r us also, but just thought I would gve u the guys heads up, but whatever its kool

Midway Arcade Treasures 3 is good. In fact, if you don't have any MAT games, this deal's great to get yourself a trifecta.
I have a feeling if I ever become a dad I'll be alot like that. I'll probably be more eager to get to the toy store than my kids.
Trust me. You will. Hell, you should all the Star Wars crap I buy my kid. My parents always made me save my money. I guess I am reliving my childhood. I don't even really know if my son likes Star Wars either.

Heh!
Personally, I love taking my two year old son out, because I don't feel so "creepy" walking around TRU and he is still at that age where even getting him something small makes his face light up.

Plus, there is the two word effect going out with my son has: "Babe Magnet." ;) (His mother isn't too keen on that though...)

I'm gonna stop by today, see whats left of interest, but I have a feeling I'm gonna be better off getting an ad and PMing to Best Buy next week. Maybe pick up Namco 50th, Donkey Konga 2, and some Player's Choice game.

Can someone start listing what they plan to pick up? I believe I've already picked up all the $20 games I want and don't want to make an unnecessary trip. I need some ideas.

The new stuff:

PS2 & XB Capcom Classic Collection...pretty cool. I can't wait to play 3-player co-op on Mercs.. Lots of shooters including 1942, 1943, and 1943 Kai.

XB Worms 4 comes out on Tuesday and should have a $19.99 price tag.

PS2 Midway Arcade Treasures 3

The old stuff:

Any of the Green tagged games, if it works. $20 for 3 games, yes please. (Galleon, Nightmare of Druaga, etc come to mind).
Yes, I'm easily entertained because I have a stress filled day at work and whenever I see something funny to me it gets me through my day better.
Wow, it was just a joke.

Maybe you can get Capcom Collection, Midway Treasures 3, and Tecmo Classic Arcade Collection. Those are pretty good games.

Lucky non-GC people with the Capcom Collection. My plan is to get Namco 50th Anniversary Collection, Sonic Mega Collection (the fiancee is actually interested in it), and Donkey Konga 2 at BB (price matching the ad if I find it). If I use it at TRU, I'll go with Namco, Sonic Mega if its stocked and... something else.

Or find some green tagged games, I haven't been looking at whats in stock much there lately.

Yeah, the Namco collection sounds neat. I was originally going to get one of the Plug-N-Play Namco editions, but this has them all together which would be great.

Yep... I could probably get the original collection and be happy (it has Dig Dug and Pac-Man, etc as well), but for the same price you get 4 more games (14 instead of 10), so I'm in.

Yeah, thanks for reminding me, I don't have Sonic Mega Collection yet! I've been wanting that for over a year now. Also, GC gets Sonic Gems Collection exclusively. So I know it may not be a fair trade off for not getting Capcom Collection...

Haha, it isn't... Sonic Gems is like the red-headed step-child of Sonic Mega Collection. "Quick, lets whore out our intellectual property!" Not that its a bad collection of games, just not worth $30.
I think thats apart of there black friday sale
I think it is coming MUCH sooner than black Friday. This past truck we received 100+ cases of misc board games. We had trouble even fitting it all in the overstock areas. I can't see us getting them almost 2 months ahead of the sale.

As for green tags and this coming sale, my manager said they should be included, based on the fact that the green tag toys that fell under the category for the b2g1 this week qualified. The thing I'm wondering, that nobody knew, was if the original tagged price or the "discounted" price on the green tag merchandise would determine if it qualified it for the b2g1. Example: A game that is $39.99, but green tagged, would it qualify under the sale as it rings up at $19.99? I guess we shall see since I have tomorrow off, but will be there first thing in the morning to pick up some games I've been craving.

just came back from TRU and was surprised that the buy 2 get 1 was in effect already....

I brought
Second sight (2) one for me one for trade in
Call of duty ps2(1)trade in
call of duty gc (1) for me
r-type (1) trade in
trivial pursuit (1)trade in

and i got a rtype and second sight free and it was 5 a piece except call of duty for gamecube

so i went back and got Harvest moon, nfshotpursuit and sonic mega collection at the buy 2 get 1 ...i was very surprised that it was already in effect

holy crap holy crap does this mean green tag are apart of the B2G1 free?!?!?1 woopah!!!

well, i wish now that ebgames had there little trade in promo going on another week...it would have been almost like it was 70 percent off...but i still am going to pick some extras up for preorders...

Toysrus.com increase several game prices to prepare for the sale. I had my eye on ordering online and had Rygar PS2/Robotech Invasion bookmarked for the sale. They were 9.98 on Sat and now they are 19.99 each. I noticed several other games I have seen for $5-9 back up to $19.99....

Here's a tip for buying online:

Most, if not all, of the EA PS2 games have free shipping. The $19.99 games would be cheaper at EA's online store with the $15 off newsletter coupon code, however.

Its a bit early, but anyone on the East coast have any luck with buying green tag items during this sale at B+M?

The 19.99 deal is nice but my only disappointment is that it is only for select games. I tried to get RC: Going Commando with 2 other selections and I couldn't get the deal even though everything was $19.99
