I was doing some trade-ins today and was informed that I should hold on in regards to purchasing any pre-owned games because the buy 2 get 1 free starts this Wednesday. Just a heads up for you guys and hope for more confirmation from more CAGs in the coming days.

EDIT: It is now up on the web site...so safe to say...CONFIRMED!:bouncy:

Does anyone know if I can return 1 game and exchange it for another of the same price? Or will I have to bring all 3 games that I bought?
I'm hoping to do MW3 :ps3:/:360: and hopefully get The Show or Hot Shots for Vita.
The fact that they most likely will have used online passes is making me hesitant.
I just picked up a used Hot Shots for the Vita and on my receipt I received an online pass.

I'm thinking the third game I could add to umvc3 vita and just cause 2 would be barbie horse adventures. Amazon refuses to put it in the good box every month and I'm tired of waiting :)

I asked them that same question and I was told you had to bring all 3 in to return one.
I went a little crazy with the Jrpg games during this b2g1f. Knowing that I was going to spend a grip of money I ended up getting my pur pro membership for free after the discounts.

I got:
Rune Factory
Trinity Universe
Resonance of Fate
Record of Agarest War Zero
Last Rebellion
Trinity: Souls of Zill O'll
Hyperdimension Neptunia
Atelier Totori
and... Just cause 2
:hot: Thats like a bazillion hours of gameplay right there....

If the game you want to exchange isn't the free game, they can do it without any trouble. If you want to exchange the free game, it gets a bit more complicated. In the past, they had to do a "penny" return and "penny" rebuy.

A good tip is to make sure the game you want to keep is the free game. It will automatically be the free game if it's the cheapest of the 3, obviously. If there is another game of the same price, the last game scanned is the one that's going to be free.

YMMV, but my local store has let me do straight across exchanges on even the 'Free' game in the past. What I usually end up doing with these sales is finding only 2 games I really want, and 1 more 'filler' game that I'm on the fence about.

Last time I did this was I think with::ps3:Darksiders & LittleBigPlanet Goty, with :360:Halo ODST. I ended up returning ODST a few days later for Gears of War 2. Come to think of it...I think the clerk even just credited my account for the cost of ODST, and I ended walking out of there with 2 other games inc. GoW2....hmmm, been a while since I thought about this lol.
Wow that is a great haul with great variety as well. Oh and do not I repeat DO NOT return the world ends with you as its one of the best and most unique rpgs I've ever played !
I'll give it another solid go while I still have a week to think about it, I'm just getting tired of the endless extended tutorial hehe. I just finished "Day 2", and theres just so much talking talking talking talking introduce-minor-gameplay-function talking talking talking talking repeat. I'm really digging the music/art aesthetic tho. It reminds me a lot of Jet Set Radio, which is why I picked up the game in the first place.
anyone know if you can do the ipod preowned thing in store or is it online only?
Most stores don't have iPods.

As for the ones that do, I don't believe anyone has tried. Might be worth a shot; but even if it does glitch the same, you might have a difficult employee.
They have the Special Edition of RE:Operation Racoon City for the same used price of the standard version. It's not on the site tho.
I wish i could find a used special edition copy . how did you find this by the way.

Great, thanks for the reply.

My local store has a used copy just sitting on the shelf, Steel-book inside the sleeve-card. I imagine he just saw on in-store.

Hmm, sounds like i need to try to find me one. Any codes that work for this promo? Like saver used to work, now it doesn't kinda thing?
I can't believe Gamestop.com disabled the in-store search function for a lot of the Spring sale games.
I have no way of proving this, but I think they do that because they remove a lot of newer ($49.99 or $54.99) games off their shelves before this sale. They don't want anybody being able to look on their website and see that a store has it in stock, when really the store removed it from the shelf.

Picked up two copies of Dead Island and Bayonetta today. Going to another store to return and rebuy tomorrow to get rid of Bay. Any recommendations for a PS3 game around 15-20? So far looking at War in the North, GTA 4 complete, and WKC2.

If you're looking into GTA 4, then LA Noire if you haven't played it.

I played through about half of it. Might pick that one up new though.

Almost every single CE of a game trades in under the same SKU as the standard edition of the game. Smart people would simply trade in the game by itself and keep the extras since they would get the exact same price for it. People pay $10-90 more for collector editions and then finish the game and trade it in for $20 (give or take $10) and then bitch and moan how gamestop rips them off and how games are sooo expensive. And they say ignorance is bliss...HA!

Yeah, I'm always on the lookout for mint used copies of collector's editions at Gamestop. I got a mint copy of Gears of War 2 collector's edition for the same price as the standard. However, this is not always true. I know that Force Unleashed Sith Edition has its own trade-in value, and it's also way more used than the standard Force Unleashed.

That's actually because the Force Unleashed Sith Edition was a 'Complete Edition" re-release with a different disc/bonus disc (depending on which console). Think similar to the Oblivion GOTY or Fable 2 Platinum Hits. It irks me as well, as I'd love that steelbook too.

That's been a huge pain in the ass for me too, as I'm still trying to track down a 'complete' used copy of :360:GTA4 Complete, lol.

Watch this post and I will make a store checker appear ;)

Done! http://www.gamestop.com/Browse/StoreSearch.aspx?sku=952725
Hmm...whenever I copy/pasted the SKU in the url of another store search I did, it wouldn't show the result for the new SKU.

Perhaps I should have just tried again, lol. Thx.:applause:
The SKU is a 6 digit number not that 5 digit BS number. I believe that 5 digit number is just for online purposes to link the multiple SKU's.

Yeah, the 5 digit number is just for the game's page on the website. You can see that both new and used games share the same page on gamestop's website, and that 5 digit number specifies that page. The SKU is the actual product you want, and it's different for new and used games.

In other words:
5 digit number -> One per game
6 digit SKU -> Two per game (new and used)
http://www.gamestop.com/Browse/StoreSearch.aspx?sku=952725

Word of warning though ... the website does say the in-store price is $26.99 compared to $17.99 online.
I have something interesting to add to this. I checked with Harry Potter Years 5-7. I bought both the xbox and wii versions today in-store with their sale price. The stock checker says the in-store price is the higher one even though we know it's on sale in-store too (some even had a sale sticker). This might be one where you need to call and have the associate scan it for you.

1st Order: MW3 PS3 & 360 and Mass effect 3 (360)

2nd Order: LA Noire Complete Edition, NBA Live 10 and Wet

The MW3s will be traded in along with Mass Effect 3. I want to keep ME3 but i haven't finished playing the 1st two yet. Will pick it up again when im done and it is dirt cheap. Hopefully with the credits i have at BB, i can pick up a nice 32" LCD for my bedroom at a good price.

Hmm, good to know. Perhaps the in-store price in the online stock checker lags behind the POS system. That wouldn't surprise me at all...

Went to Gamestop today hoping to get used GTA 4 Complete but the in store price is $27.99 (vs. $17.99 online)...I even showed the guy the online price on my phone but he said there's nothing he could do :(

Am I missing something here, can I get it at this price in store elsewhere?

Did the guy scan the game or just show you the sticker? I know some stickers were not updated.

Made out like a bandit after hitting up a few local stores

Tales of Graces F
Silent Hill Downpour
Street Fighter X Tekken

Tales of the Abyss 3d
Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny
Resident Evil: Revelations

I considered subbing in Binary Domain but the last Sega game I bought at near full price dropped to 15 about 2 months later (Vanquish) Not to knock the game though it's one of my favorites, and I've heard great things about BD. If I dont like Downpour I might just sub it back in. Thoughts?

It rings up $17.99. I bought it for both systems (two different stores too) and when I was buying the XBox version the GS CSR told me it would be better to buy it new since the used price was still $27.99. I told him the used version should ring up $17.99 too and sure enough when he processed it, it rang up correctly. You should be able to go back and get it at $18 with no problems...

You've got all the best ones in that price range covered. I picked up most of those to play/flip as well. You might also consider Fallout 3 GOTY as well, or if you have enough points for a $10 off PUR coupon, you could even try for Mortal Kombat Komplete ($28 but the coupon would knock it down to the $18 range so that it would work with your other $18 B2G1 purchases)...

Do you have to be a Paid PUR member? The guy at gamestop made me renew my membership with game informer, told me i could not get the deal if i didnt

I believe paid PUR members get "early access" on Wednesday. On Thursday to Saturday, it's open to everyone.
Anybody know what time the online inventory tracker is updated?
It is supposed to be every morning.

Unfortunately, I had no luck yesterday using it. Of the three games I wanted and claimed they had, they had only one at the Gamestop I checked. Probably should have picked up the one and looked at other stores eventually. (I have to pick up my copy of Xenoblade at one anyways on Friday.)

Gamestop coupons don't stack with sales or promos :(
Anyone know if Vita games are B2G1 in store?
Yes and you can buy other platforms on the same transaction.

I'm considering picking up Hot Shot Golf World invitational for the Vita today and two other Vita games. My one concern is the online pass. I've heard that some games a online pass will print on the GS receipt. Has anyone purchased Hot Shot Golf to know if this is one of the games that gives you an online pass? What I'm considering doing is taking my 3g Vita to the store and go to the PS store and enter the online pass that is in the used game. If it works I'll buy the game. If not I would need to still purchase it to see if an online codes is provided on the receipt (doubtful). Can always return it right there to the store if there is no online code.

I found a Metroid Prime Trilogy at one of my local Gamestops yesterday. I bought it, just because I would kick myself if I didn't.

Now, to find two more $70 games to pair with it in a return-rebuy... ;)

Heres my haul for the b2g1 used games from yesterday.

Tatsunoko vs Capcom
Tales of Symphonia
Medieval Moves
Super Mario Galaxy
Sin and Punishment
Animal Crossing - City Folk

all for $75+tax.
All came complete and in minty condition!
Plus Super Mario Galaxy, Sin and Punishment, and Animal Crossing had Registration Codes unused so i scored some free coins too!!
