Deadliest Warrior: Ancient Combat (PS3/360) $5 after $20 off Coupon
Free is not cheap enough for this game. They need to give me at least a $10 GC to take it off their hands.
Exactly... the way this thread is going you think they were giving away a AAA title..

When did we become so non selective with our gaming hours?? I don't have enough time in the day to play the good games.. I certainly don't have any time to play this turd.

Got mine no problem. Of course, I worked at my local Best Buy back in the day. The girl at the register called the manager over and asked if she could actually sell me the game for a penny. The manager's response was, "It's freaking, Rob Dees, of course you can." It's nice to know people :)

the run is totally worth $10. I thoroughly enjoyed it. But I'm one of those anti-sandbox gamers so I like this type of game.

Edit: oops wrong thread!
I was able to get it for free. They had to call over a manager though. Hey checked with some inter-company bulletin about the deal, came back and said it was okay, but that tomorrow the price of the game was going up to $25, so with the coupon it will be $5. I overheard one rep talking with another and they mentioned that this game was a loss leader and they were trying to get it out of the store.
Eh. I could live with paying just $5 for it. I think we've all paid $5 for things far worse.

EDIT: Hey, the game is online enabled, right?

Just came back from a successful trip to BB. Got the game for free after two managers finally figured it out after 10 minutes. However, everyone was really pleasant. All the gaming specialist guys were nearly giving me high-5's because they thought it was so awesome that I was getting a free game. Great employees at my local BB in MN.

Also, I can confirm that the game will go up to $24.99 tomorrow so the coupon can be used without hassle. The manager read that info directly off some daily Best Buy employee newsletter.

When a free game became profit and Best Buy and the place it was taken to is seconds apart.

I got lucky. Only 1 copy on the shelf for 360. None for ps3. Too it up with resistence 3 and Dragon Age 2 for ps3. Gave them the 3 coupons. Brought up a prompt for Deadliest Warrior and they were going to refuse it. I told them its supposed to work on sale items and that I had a manager override a copy earlier...even though I didnt. They call a manager up and she just accepts it. Cashier next to them was saying they had other people bring them up and they were told to deny them. lol

not everyone is a flipper.

I'm not saying this game is good. But anything free is worth a try.

Maybe they need to send a memo to the person doing @Gamer coupons and the person doing in store price drops.;)

Oh thats right.. I forgot this site has become anything but discussion about video game deals for people who like to PLAY video games

flippers and scammers carry on.

Took like 15 mins but worked.

grabbed Halo pre-order for $5 to get the sweet lithograph, wont pick the game though, getting my copy at the microsoft store for the free $25 gc! :D

got denied since the coupon technically doesn't work. my gaming supe friend was gonna be off work in 5 min so i didnt wanna bother her with getting the manager's overide. no biggie, congrats to those who got it.

I can't believe that the people who got shot down in this thread were okay with that. Pro tip: The managers do not make the rules. They cannot deny you or they will get in trouble with their bosses. You tell them that they don't have any choice but to take the coupon.

Some people don't want to waste time arguing for a game. We're not talking mass effect here.

btw, the sales associate I spoke to told me that they were going to adjust the deal tomorrow by raising the price to $24.99, so it won't be free anymore.

could just dl the demos if you want to see if its worth getting. i think this is just the two arcade games on one retail disc. i already own the first one....pretty bad.

Oh that sucks
So it was a DOTD then & not an official price drop. O well. I'll be picking two up tomorrow along with a turtle beach head set & LEGOs batman.

considering the gaming supe is my friend, the last thing i wanna do is keep her there after shes off the clock. she has helped me numerous times w/deals on much better games. just because bb corporate is retarded doesn't mean i should make a big deal about the coupon and exploit their stupidity. i'm not a bully.

i was also told to come back and get it for 5 bucks tomorrow but i'd rather soend that money on nfs: the run tonight.

pro tip: getting a free mediocre game now isn't worth losing out on friendship w/ store employees and discounted awesome game deals in the future.

a lot of us tried to get the managers to over ride, but the managers still refuse to do so. so what do you expect us to do? LOL

I'm not sure that it was a DOTD - more of a "Dammit, there was a $20 off coupon for this game that we forgot about - time to change the price" correction.

Yes this.

I was able to pick it up in Columbus, Ohio. Took a bit of time, but there were not too many challenges. The manager barely looked over 18 and came over and punched in the numbers in no time. Total wait time was about 5 minutes for the manager to come over. Picked up Dragon Age II for 5 bucks as well.

I got my copy after manager override. The CSR scanned the coupon and it didn't work so he reviewed the coupon and called a manager over. She came right over, punched in the override and walked away. After she walked away, the CSR was all smiles telling me how awesome it was that I was getting a free game :)

I was able to get the last copy for PS3.

Deadliest Warrior (free) + The Faculty blu-ray ($5.99) - $5 bonus RZ cert = $1.07 after tax

It was the cashier's first day, so I think I helped train her with all the different shit going on in the transaction (override, RZ, gift card).

Thanks OP!

I got mine in Kankakee, IL...3 people took 20 minutes trying to figure out what they were missing before they gave it to me (I gave them a penny) :)

Shot down at tannesborne (near hillsboro OR) best buy, Guy said a memo went out that the coupon cannot be used & that it was being fixed right now. Also noticed they had them hidden under the video game dept cash register so no one could go up front and trick the front end cashiers :(
Stopped in my BB in Tacoma, WA. Took the game and coupon to the register, cashier fiddled for a minute and called the manager. Manager looked at coupon, then looked at the game, entered in some numbers and handed me the game and a receipt. The only time taken was waiting for the manager to get up front.
This is precisely the same way it happened for me. Waterloo, IA Best Buy.

Same! I wonder how many Reward Zone
(lol, didn't use mine on this)
points we get!?!

...well, I added a soda. Just because.

I didn't see this post, but I got in as well. Three cashiers couldnt figure out what was going on. They tried to add .01, .02 and $1 to get it to take and it still wouldnt. Guy came over, grumpy, couldnt figure it out either (product manager) and ended up calling his supervisor.

The guy told him to drop it to .00 as the coupon was valid and that department needs to pay attention to their emails. The product manager did the override and walked off in a pissy mood saying "Stupid to give away a game for free, mumble mumble." That guy is always so pissy, whenever I am in there... not trying to "screw over the system," just using the coupons they offer. Would have picked it up for $5, but was already in the area.

I just got back from Best Buy and tried using the coupon to get the game free...and they had said no at first. Then she ended up looking in her employee email account and saw a memo about this game being on sale for $19.99 and that there was also a coupon in this months @gamer mag stating that $20 be taken off of the price of the game and to HONOR the coupon, but for today only. Memo also state that the game price would be changed to $24.99 tomorrow. Can't beat a free game. Hopefully this helps anyone who gets denied. Tell them to check their email!!!

Came back from Bakersfield BB and was a smooth transaction

Manager had to be called over to register, looked at it, called the "gaming specialist" (these guys never know anything, i had to explain the concept of an online pass to a mom and kid who were trying to by BF3 and afterwards the specialist asked me "is that a battlefield thing? im a call of duty girl, thats all i play")

The specalist looked it over, looked at the manager and both agreed that it was a price drop and not a sale (even though that wouldnt have mattered anyway)

marked it down to .01 cents and i was on my way

Check it out, worked for me! IMPORTANT tip for anyone still trying this, the manager came over and opened her employee news. From there, she read a memo saying that coupons on the deal today SHOULD BE HONORED and tomorrow the price will be corrected to $25. Out the door with success! :D

same story as most of you, just needed an override and got the game for free with no problems. They have 1 more ps3 version at the santa ana, ca (SCP) branch if anyone is interested.

Just played the demo, yeah not interested at all in this. (never been a fan of fighting games though) to GameStop they went. Kept the DVD though, I caught a couple shows back when it was on a enjoyed it.

I got a kick of how the 360 version (maybe the PS3 version also) says it's a "hybrid" disc that includes the game and six episodes, yet they are on separate discs. Not that I care in the least, it's just that someone obviously has no clue what "hybrid" means.

Why did you play the demo if you had a copy of the game?

Wasn't able to get one since my store didn't have any copies. Normally they'll order me one even though the coupon says not to, but this time they couldn't because of the -$.01 price.

Was surprised how easy it was to get this. Thankfully the game trade in guy who I became good friends with during the heyday of BB flips was there (now working the geek squad desk) and told the cs lad y to get me an overide. (The games were at CS cause I got them on hold this morning) The manager was happy to overide and I got this along with DA2 for $5.24 after WI tax.:lol::lol::D
