I was going to vote this a tie, but after thinking of everything that has been said tonight, I gave Obama a slight edge. I liked how he defended himself against McCain whenever he kept attacking him on the issues on nearly every question, and in responding to those attacks, I liked how he turned that around and counterattacked using McCain's voting record, and quotes that McCain has previously said ('fundamentals of the economy', and 'Bomb bomb bomb Iraq' come to mind).
I also did not like that McCain said, or suggested I should say, to take the $5,000 credit for health care and cross state lines to avoid paying taxes on that credit... I say bullshit! Why should anyone cross state lines to avoid taxes from a credit for health care? Did he not recieve the memo that gas prices are high? I also didn't like that McCain would like to see Meg Whitman as Treasury Secretary, I think she's terrible. Just yesterday eBay had to lay off 10% of their workforce... Obama came across more presidental, and his answers had more substance, even though he did kept to his talking points, but he did well in this town-hall style debate.
With that said, I thought that tonight overall was really boring, and Tom Brokaw was a terrible moderator. He asked a lot of his own questions, when really it should center around questions from regular folks.
