Thanks. I tried it and at the first store I had zero issues with getting coupons printed(2 total), but the second store no one was logged into the "Toolkit" thing, so I had to go to customer service and ask if I could have them print up a couple copies of the coupon for me.

They couldn't figure it out, but they gave the clerks a piece of paper with the SKU #'s, the coupon number from the UPC and a signature from the CSR who helped me, which was like her agreeing that whatever it came up as she would allow.:D

This deal reminded me of when I used to hit every GS/BB/TRU within the Tri-State area for guides once they pennied, which I haven't done in quite a while. Good times, goooooood times(especially when I'd walk out with 100+ guides from stores that didn't pull them for MONTHS).:lol:

The Zhu Zhu's, yeah they are getting more plentiful, I didn't get them to sell necessarily, I just have a lot of friends with kids and I know there are a ton of people still looking for them that wouldn't make the effort to be at TRU at opening. We actually already got rid of one to a friend for there Grand-Daughter. Still have two left and my Daughter is getting the Patches one with house and car for Christmas.

Damn right I am. :lol: I wonder if the other local CAG(who I play with on PSN on occasion) hit up our BB yet. If he got there after me at 9:20am, he was SOL. It looked like someone cleaned out the 360 copies at the closer BB, so I returned the favor n cleaned out the PS3 copies.:lol:

Blockbuster $22 credit? It's been a decade but I may have to stop on by. Do they sell new games or just their used stocks? Oh and for those sympathizing with bestbuycorporate this game is worse than shovelware and the value was gonna zero out anyway. There isn't a lack of AAA games these days and they are doing this to free out shelf space and we are helping them. I don't know anyone flipping them for $59.99. Feel sorry for anyone that bought this game at that price. ha, or anyone who gets this as an actual gift and not a gag gift! :)


haha great story hotwls. I was gonna yell at you for assaulting the blue haired lady but the MAN part was silly, lol. oh n only 5 copies for me... I will try later tho. Give other cags the chance and clear them out before closing.
 
All I have to say is you guys have some balls, lol. I just sent my little brother off to try his luck, today is my only day off and I just feel like relaxing. I just told him to try for one copy though, maybe to mess around on it. Congrats to all who scored tons of copies :p

50!! Printed out 10 copies of the coupon! I didn't think they would have that many copies, but they still had 1 of each left after I ran out of coupons. On my last trip through, after they rang me up they called a manager over. I just grabbed my stuff and ran. Knocked over some blue haired lady on my way out. My friend was waiting for me in front of the store engine running. I dove in and he took off. I looked back and I saw like 10 Blue shirts running out of the store all waving there arms while talking on walkie talkies. It's a good thing it was REALLY FOGGY this morning as we were sure the MAN was after us. lol j/k I only got 5. ;)
 
Free FTF + 16 dollar hwv credit + all games under $30 are $5 + trade 4 get $20 at GS = win.

Going to try this, has potential since I need some extra filler games to get the 20 bucks.

LOL, if people are going to flip them, get them flipped ASAP (as in today if possible, or within the next few days), because these are going to be worthless soon enough as the market is already getting flooded. This is going to be yet another nail in the coffin for Blockbuster/HWV/FYE, no doubt about it. Oh and TRU is giving $10.xx for them. eBay and amazon averages have already dropped substantially.
 
I "bought" 5 from the Midway mall location in Elyria, Ohio. There were at least 6 more (I know of 1 other cag that goes there so I didn't take them all). Sold all of them within 30 minutes at 2 different stores. Ended up with Dead space, afro samurai, 12 bucks cash, 21 in unused credit at TRU.

Fourteen between two stores for me.:D:lol: Although, I think I missed a stack for the 360 at the first store. I just saw the empty spot on the shelf and just went to the PS3 section to check for copies.

And yes, I know I'm a hypocrite because I've ragged on people for hoarding before. I was an ex hoarder till today, with the last time I hoarded anything being when I grabbed the aforementioned 100+ guides from ONE Gamestop where they didn't pull anything for like a year.
 
Gazelle is $10 for both systems.. I already locked in those prices.. plus they pay cash.. and you can take your time on mailing them in so i can wait to see if amazon ever goes back up..

I might hit up blockbuster tho. : )
 
Wow glad everyone is having luck with the FTF game. The streets and roads here are still a mess and there is no way I can get my car out and come back and park with these conditions. Would anyone mind sending me a copy for PS3? ;)

I went with a friend and we picked up 5 total. 1 for me, 1 for him, 1 for my brother, and 1 each for undertermined purpose. My store only had about 24 copies total of both, I just couldn't bring myself to "buy" anymore. I always feel guilty. Seeing some of those trade-ins that IAMTCG posted makes me wish I wasn't so nice though.
 
I got 2 ps3 copies and 3 360. My store had around 20 360 copies left. I added wolfenstein but that made 6 games, so I was charged for that. Will probably return that tomorrow. The cashier was shocked of course.

Yeah. As far as I know GC/HWV and Blockbuster only give credit. But if your Blockbuster has game systems, you could pick up a DS/DS Lite/DSi/PS3/360/Wii/PSP if you grabbed enough copies.:lol:
 
I'd just like to say "Hope you enjoy some crow in your pie" to all the CAGs who claimed-- nay, INSISTED-- for the last 2 weeks that there "Was no possible way Best Buy would ever honor this, why would they give a game away for free, you're all wasting your time, my cousin's best friend's uncle who used to manage a Best Buy 5 years ago told me that you'd be arrested and shot on site if you try this". You might want to listen to those of us in the future who have been here long enough to understand how these deals work.

I think Best Buy is fully aware of what they are doing here. This has happened a few times before, you don't think they'd be SUPER careful if they didn't intend to do this? Based on the fact that the store I went to had DOZENS of copies of this game out for both platforms at opening, I think they expected this to sell very, very well, and it obviously came out and tanked. So Best Buy sets up a situation where the game is free for ONE DAY ONLY, right before Christmas, needs a coupon, and gets people in the store. They can take a promotional-loss tax write off for the game, a lot of us probably picked up some other stuff, and everyone's happy. Given how many copies my local store had they probably just wanted them out the door.

Anyway, glad to live in SoCal where the only issue was getting up early on a Sunday to be there at opening. ;)

(and ps, I didn't buy to trade/flip/sell, I bought since I actually had been interested in trying this game out, before all the bad reviews-- free is a good price to try out something you're not sure about..!)
 
first two stores i went to only had one ps3 and one 360 each so i got a total of 4 games so i'm more than happy cuz i wanted extra ones for my friend! Thanks CAG, and to all the hoarders you can fuck OFF and go to SD or FW you jackasses!!!!

I always find it hilarious when CAGs make posts blaming or looking down on FW/SD posters when they're exactly the same.

Most of the people on here only get mad at hoarders when they beat them to the hoarding (see: IAmTheCheapestGamer).
 
I picked up 3 copies. One for me, one for a friend, and one to sell. They had probably 10 more. Not sure what you people are going to do with 10 plus copies. Ebay ones are already selling for about $15. After shipping and fees...looking at $10 or so. And the hassle of trying to get the people to pay for it as well.

wow here was what I got thanks op tried 2 other bb but no luck. they were out of stock. The cashier asked when did this suddenly become popular. I said because its FREE. also anyone think the sales of this games going to surpass call of duty modern warefare 2 lol jk

As I've said before, I never said I wasn't a hypocrite and I was at one time(not after today) a reformed hoarder. But free is just too damn good to pass up.

I was surprised to not see just empty spots where Fairytale Fights should have been in both stores, since I got there an hour after they opened and 2 hours after the other store opened.

sorry, I should have reworded that I guess. 10 all together between both stores. I got 5 at each store.

I didnt think BlockBuster would give so much........I may have to go try to get some more copies now. $22 a piece is ridiculous. I ended up keeping a copy of the game for myself and traded 6 into 3 different Gamestops(1 of each system at each) along with some Target clearance games I got earlier last week for those free 1600 pt cards. I averaged $50 per Gamestop. Than took 2 copies into FYE and got $36 cash. $18 each. Last copy I took in to a privately owned used video game store and they gave me $12 cash. But.......$22 each at Blockbuster.............hmmmmmm

I think I'm gonna risk this. :)

Just 5 more copies.

OTOH, if people are going to hoard, I'd much prefer it happen with a shitty game like this than with something I really want. I probably would have picked up an extra copy of two if (a) I wasn't afraid it would draw attention and screw up the transaction, and (b) I knew someone with a PS3 that it would be appropriate to give this game to.

It may be different in other states...
No PS3 slims only fattys at $299/$399 prices
No PSPs
No DSIs
Maybe a black DSlite
Maybe 360 Arcade or Pro (you guess which chips these probably have)
Maybe a wii

No go in BestBuy - Tustin Marketplace by 5 freeway. I wish I was at the cashier 3 minutes earlier.

A team of father and son brought 12 copies and tried to use 2 coupons. Of course, the manager was called over. If you're going to get 12 copies, at least be a little smarter. Go to the cashier one person at a time and maybe buy something else so the total is not 0. You can always return the other stuff later.

Lake Forest store still has 1 PS3 left and 0 X360.
The District has 1 X360 and 0 PS3.

I think you may have to wait until everyone has traded them in or TIVs drop/they no longer get accepted. But besides that good luck. I am hoping someone has one left for PS3.

I was hoping my local Blockbuster stores just had the older small sized fat model PS3 display boxes as an example and that it wasn't what they were carrying.

Oh well...maybe I can find a Blockbuster with a 60 gb still in stock someplace and get a fully BC model for myself, then sell my 2 month old slim for $175-190 to someone on CL looking for a PS3 deal for Christmas.:D
