Yeah that is what I did to level up the Vanguard gear to get my Titan to 31 to do the Raid in the first place. I just don't want to do that anymore especially since I actually need Glimmer already as it is. So that means I will need to spend like 4 hours at least farming to get the Glimmer I need for everything right now : / I already barely play this game as much and so it is hard to get on just to mindlessly farm. Ugh.

I think it is heavily friend dependent. Since I have maxed out almost everything I care about now I just jump on the screw around with friends when they are on.
I didn't get on last night. Ended up going to see The Hobbit. So if anybody cares to join in for the first part of the raid I will probably be on around 8 central. Otherwise I might just solo that. Not sure what I will do about the second chest or Crota yet unless I get some more people.
I'll be looking to run the raid tonight. Was gonna be on around 8:30 est but i can hang around till you get on if you want. You can just shot me a message or friend request BxJoka

Pretty much, except for the Deathsingers. I am aware of a way that might work but I have never tried it.

Ha ha...I totally missed this and I was there. Didn't help that I couldn't talk to you guys. Don't know what happened, think it was the fact that I sent you and invite and joined you immediately after I got yours...they were almost at the same time, my voice was jacked. Hadn't had a chance to try today.
How does one get into the team channel, I forgot what button to push? I can try it out in a bit and see if I indeed need a new headset.

Yep, that's the one I know. I did actually get up there while screwing around. I've just never actually done it at the deathsingers to see how well it works.You can cheat the deathsingers too moose, there's a way to get on top
I'm thinking Crota will be the toughest part to patch jut because there are so many holes in that boat (plus I'm not even sure how they would handle an issue created by host transfer). I think the lantern jump and bridge would be fairly simple to fix.

Got the first chest from Crota last night too...just 2 Radiant Shards. Oh well...attempted to get to the second one but I couldn't get past the Thrall to get to the exploding pillars for the shortcut to the 2nd section.

Nice, I've had my eye on purchasing either that one or the Vanquisher VIII from New Monarchy... I never use auto rifles because the game absolutely hates to give them to me.

My buddy has that one and it has become his main primary. I don't recall what roll his bonuses were but they are solid too for an Auto Rifle, hopefully yours are too.

Most of us are X1 yeah, though there are a handful on 360 and then there are some that float between here and the PS4 thread too and so they actually have it on a Sony platform.

This part is honestly not hard when you have a full team. It is very different from VoG though in that it requires speed (as much of Crota does if you don't cheese it
). In VoG you could take things slow and steady (though there was "enrage" if you took too long). But with Crota's End you pretty much have to speed run and blitz everything.I don't think you can do that when in a fireteam. That is for the strike matchmaking. We started a party and then dropped back out of the party when we couldn't hear you. Each time we could hear each other but not you. I got my care package. It didn't troll me like the Nightfall. I got a rocket launcher I'd never seen before - don't even remember the name. But it has void damage so that might be useful later. It has the really bizarre perk of reducing grenade cooldown with kills though. That is... odd for a RL...

Sorry to anybody that wanted to run it. I was going to wait, but my cousin jumped on. He can't run the raid and wanted to play with him so I wanted to get through it quick (he is only level 10, has four kids so time is limited, and also doesn't have the DLC). I have a checkpoint at the second chest if anybody needs it and still need to finish Crota. I'd be willing to go through again if anybody needs help tonight. I'm just two shards short of hitting 32...
Of course every time I've run it before it has spawned one ogre while forming the bridge. This time it spawns two since I'm alone and it slaughters me. Luckily I was able to self-revive and had managed to pick up a single rocket so I was able to take them both out quickly. I could swear the thrall were doing more damage too, but that's probably just because I was alone so they were all focused on me.

Well I finally got that stupid Salvage achievement over with. Just need to max out a Titan subclass then the clan one and the Flawless Raider stand in my way for the completion. Also completed my upgraded Bad Juju bounty and about half done with upgraded Thorn. Time to shard the non-upgraded ones.
Doubled up on my Eris at the reset as well. Should be level 4 Eris tonight at reset/Xur and hit 32 on my Hunter!!
Anyone else up for going for Flawless Raider on normal VoG? I'm going to ask that you be minimum 31 for this endeavor. Only part I'm worried about is the jumping part, but I've been practicing these last 2 weeks so I'm feeling much more confident. I have my 2 buddies that I always play with that are going to jump in for sure. We were talking about trying for it and the clan achievement on Sunday maybe.

Yeah I got everything done with all my characters Tuesday with the Raid EXCEPT the second chest. The one time I tried for it my buddy totally screwed it up and activated the following checkpoint.

I'd be down then. The more people we can get the easier it would be. As usual I can stay in the room if people need to leave and bring in other characters. I might need to do the ogres, but I'm hoping not. The game kicked me to orbit right as I was getting to that point so I don't know if it saved the cp for sure or not. I was alone so I don't know how I could have "left my fireteam."
That's why you need somebody as the designated checkpoint saver. ;-)

VoG is just too long and glitchy to be reliable for that achievement. It would probably be easier with Crota (before they patch the cheese at least). The hardest part there would be the beginning as someone usually gets killed by the thralls at least once. I suppose you could have 5 stay at the beginning and one solo it. If you wipe there it is easy just to restart. Then the bridge section is easy. The thrall hallway you just take your time (and don't worry about getting to the second chest). You'd just have to be careful on the Deathsingers and then do Crota flawlessly (and legit of course since someone disconnecting would screw up the achievement I think). The team I run it with can usually do that, but things always happen so no guarantees. For Thorn what I've been doing is rocking Praedyths and a Void RL and just running my Suros because Atheon's Epilogue sucks something fierce for PvP. If it is that one stupid Mars map on Control, I don't even bother and quit to orbit. I was doing work with my sniper on earth map last night. Ran up to Point A and scoped in and bam headshot, headshot, headshot, and like a tard, I reloaded instead of waiting for the last guy and I diedI'd like to do that eventually, but I just don't want to be responsible for screwing up the jumping and/or gorgons. Yea, for the void damage part of that bounty I used my hunter and camped invisible around the control points. Would pop out to take a few out with a void shotty here and there. Then I'd camp Heavy and get multikills around the control points with a void RL. The little cave on Venus was my best hiding place. So is it better to continue to upgrade pre-expansion purple armor and weapons or start over with the post-expansion stuff? And did I screw up by fully upgrading my pre-expansion Sunbreakers after the expansion or should I have started over with a new set? I did by the items from Xur to upgrade them if that matters at all.
I feel as long as you know the maps it's down to personal preference (I still stick with my Shadow Price over Suros), but the AE is alright for the Thorn bounty. Start over - you need the new armor to hit 31. Old purples (I'm assuming not from Vault of Glass) will only get you to 29 (30 if VoG armor). Same with the pre and post-exotics. Yeah, you'll want to get new ones or upgrade them with Xur. Is that what you are saying you did? If so, that's fine. Also you will get light 33 gloves from finishing the Eris quest line so keep that in mind. Leveling up your Vanguard rank also gives you a chance of getting light 33 gear (i think only boots/gloves though) in the reward pack you receive at the postmaster. Once you get to overall level 30 you can just solo the first 2 parts of the Crota raid and that gives a chance of getting Light 36 Gloves from first part and Light 36 Boots/Chest from 2nd part.
Raid Helmet is a rare drop from Crota, which can be cheesed as well and that is the only place new raid weapons drop in this new raid.

I'm probably not doing the expansion pack/season pass unless there is a really good sale on it.
I have no idea what you can or can't do without the DLC. I guess you can still buy the new Vanguard stuff, right? In that case I'd go for that. But on the other hand, if you aren't looking to do the Crota raid, then level 30 is high enough since the highest things you'd be doing for now are the level 30 Nightfall/Weekly. So maybe you can just stick with your old gear. If you are 29, though, I would at least get enough new gear to get to 30.ajh2298 said:

Don't forget Xur. Xur also locks you out if the weapon or armor you want to buy is DLC. Anything in base is still buyable, but not the new stuff. The best way to know if you're locked out is the requirements near the bottom. Usually it'll say "The Dark Below" in red if it locks you out and if you try to access it, it'll open a pop up saying you need to buy it.

Well, you can still get the new exotics, just not from Xur. Mostly through the RNG swamp that is loot rewards. Makes me wonder why they switched to RNG, instead of using Dedicated drops like they planned on doing.Oh Xur locks you out too? So on the new exotics it locks. That is quite lame.
