I like using Iori to relieve stress. Off topic, I know :)

Scary? Interesting.
D'oh! I forgot to mention to you guys I have breeded Feebas if you need.
wont mind taking one if you got extras

ok so here's my current battle team I'm building. just give any criticism/suggestions you guys want, I'm open to all of it.

Typhlosion
sunny day
solarbeam
double team
flamethrower

Scizor
u-turn
swords dance
slash
x scissor

Rhyperior
substitute
earthquake
megahorn
focus punch

Xatu
u-turn
trick room
reflect
???

Glisocr
slash
double team
toxic
swords dance
For your six, add a water type? I'm not sure actually.
well actually I've been thinking of adding a gyarados to my team, but is gyarados too overused?
well actually I've been thinking of adding a gyarados to my team, but is gyarados too overused?
That would make Rock Ice and Water PWN your team. All three of those types super effective 3 pokemon and those are rather common attack types.
Also useful link: http://pokemon.marriland.com/diamond_pearl/team_builder/
what about something like Roserade or Torterra? or Magnezone possibly? EIther way I would try and fit another fighting attack into one of your sets.( like Scizor's - Slash + Brick Break would make him more effective IMO.)

I have a high level torterra, but what would be a good moveset for it?

Milotic for def/water or Kingdra for attack/water/dragon.

Hmm, I'm thinking of making a celebi calm mind passer. And it seems that celebi is in the OU bracket unlike Mew who's in the Uber bracket. Base stats is straight 100s like Mew.

Bold or Careful 252 hp/132def/128spdef
-Substitute (101 Subs, especially effective against sp attacks)
-Calm Mind
-Leech Seed/Recover

so I've revised my team a little bit to take care of most of them being weak to alot of the same weaknesses. I gave ryhperior, gliscor and xatu the boot, and this is what I've added:

Jolteon
thunder
thunderbolt
rain dance
double team

Alakazam
toxic
light screen
reflect
psychic

Togekiss
flamethrower
drain punch
metronome
???

any tips/suggestions?

Choose between thunder and thunderbolt for jolteon. Double team is too cheap (The game is based on luck whenever it's used). His movepool is very limited, you need HP Ice or Grass, but that requires time to acquire.

If you look at the defense/sp defense of alakazam, he's going to have a hard time getting light screen and reflect off. I would rather make him a sweeper because of his speed and high sp attack.

I don't know togekiss enough to suggest anything.

I knew 2 electric attacks for jolteon would limit him, but what should I teach it for an HP Ice or grass? suggestions?

and for alakazam, what would be good sweeper moves for him to learn/teach?

togekiss excels in high special attack and high speed, but I don't know what to finish the moveset with. and it's only weakness is elec. it can take a heavy hit from just about any type with out 1 shotting or coming close to knocking it out.

If you're asking HP ice or grass, I would choose ice. Just look at alakazams type and find moves to handle his counters. STAB, counter move, counter move, recover. Check all the diff movesets (google).

Here is the moveset for my Togekiss

Togekiss w/ Serene Grace
Air Slash
Thunderwave
Wish/Roost
Aura Sphere

Air Slash has a 30% flinch ratio. Serene Grace doubles that to 60%. Use thunder wave, and the opponent has a 25% of not attacking from paralyze. Put everything together, and you have a slow opponent that only has a 70% of not being able to attack.

The healing keeps Togekiss in the game, and aura shpere is for a nice fighting type coverage that can hit minimized / double teamed pokemon.

EDIT: I'm considering a King's Rock as a hold item, but I am unsure how it stacks. If it adds the 10% to flinch, then its worth it.

ok, did some changing around, mixing up and here's what I've determined my final team to be

Metagross
meteor mash
zen headbutt
earthquake
magnet rise

Scizor (physical sweeper)
x scissor
slash
swords dance
u turn

Umbreon (annoyer)
faint attack
moonlight
toxic
confuse ray

Alakazam (special sweeper)
psychic
energy ball
shadow ball
focus blast

Forretress (wall)
earthquake
hidden power/explosion (I can't really decide which)
rapid spin
spikes

Weezing (hazer)
haze
sludge bomb
pain split
will-o-wisp

Let me know what y'all think!

I need some help revising my team. It's pretty solid, but kind of annoying to level it up. I'm open to all suggestions, because I think something needs to be done to improve the team. Heres what I got:

Alakazam lvl 33- Hardy nature, inner focus, at47, def46, spat96, spdef71, spd92
Miracle Eye
Psybeam
Recover
Toxic

Charizard lvl 39- Serious nature, blaze, at78, def72, spat98, spdef72, spd 92
fire blast
dragon rage
fire fang
fly

Machamp lvl 43- Naive nature, no guard, at138, def94, spat74, spdef79, spd 84
focus blast
cross chop
rock climb
vital throw

Blastoise lvl 41- Quiet nature, Torrent, at83, def94, spat90, spdef100, spd79
aqua tail
skull bash
surf
water pulse

Torterra lvl 50- Relaxed nature, Overgrow, at137, def143, spat92, spdef101, spd 81
earthquake
leech seed
curse
razor leaf

Dragonair lvl 42- Serious Nature, shed skin, at96, def79, spat75, spdef72, spd83
fire blast
dragon rush
aqua tail
dragon rage

I'd like to try and work in an Aggron and Tyranitar, and I think I'm in need of an electric type. Any thoughts/help is appreciated.

Does anyone know which specific Pokes from the GBA games can be imported into D/P via Pal Park? I read the faq on gamefaqs, and it just tells you how to do it, not which Pokemon it can be done with.

I ask because I just got Pokemon Emerald to play on my Micro, for the sole purpose of getting otherwise unobtainable Pokemon to import into Diamond.

I believe any and all, but only 6 per day.

Cool! Thats what I was hoping to hear. I dont mind the 6 a day rule, Im gonna be playing this damn digital crack for the rest of the summer at least!

Also, I'm sure you know they can't go back to the GBA game once they're on D/P, and that you need the National Dex first, right?

I am looking for ideas/thoughts on my team. The last two may be replaced I can teach fly to charizard and Spirtomb is good but hard to use. I was thinking a Togekiss, or Jiarchi if I can get one, and having an open spot for Dialga.
Torttera
-EarthQuake
-SolarBeam
-LeafStorm
-GigaDrain/Syntahsies ???

Charizard
-FireBlast
-Flamethower
-Slash (looking to repalce with better physical move)
-Sunnyday

Gyrados
-Surf
-Bite
-FireBlast
-HydroPump

Dragonite
-DracoMeteor
-Thunder
-Blizzard
-Dragonrush(looking to replace)

StarRaptor
-ArielAce
-Fly
-Roost
-CloseCombat

Spirtitomb
-Hypnosis
-Dreameater
-FaintAttack
-???wind, ghost wind move

Fly is a bad move, period. Easily countered by switch in. Do not use.

Torttera
-EarthQuake
-SolarBeam
-LeafStorm
-GigaDrain/Syntahsies ???

Redundant with Solar Beam and Leafstorm. Personally I would choose Synthesis. Though Giga drain can be especially helpful if you are low on health, thus making the hp difference work to your favor more. However, in the end, I would choose Leech Seed.

Charizard
-FireBlast
-Flamethower
-Slash (looking to repalce with better physical move)
-Sunnyday

Redundant with Fireblast and Flamethrower. Try to find counter moves to your counter type.

Gyrados
-Surf
-Bite
-FireBlast
-HydroPump

Redundant with Surf Hydro Pump, again, like above.

Dragonite
-DracoMeteor
-Thunder
-Blizzard
-Dragonrush(looking to replace)

Is Dragonite going to be physical or special? and I still dont favor draco meteor and dragonrush together, though some may approve. I'd prefer dragon claw instead of dragonrush as well.

StarRaptor
-ArielAce
-Fly
-Roost
-CloseCombat

Fly is bad, take out.

Spirtitomb
-Hypnosis
-Dreameater
-FaintAttack
-???wind, ghost wind move

Not sure if Spiritomb wants to be physical or special. I would recommend you put pts into hp/def/spdef and put in moves that aren't dependent on attack or sp attack stats.

Those stuff that say, "Often dozes off" "Can take hits," do they affect anything?
You have an example of that? Is it included in abilities descriptions or pokemon descriptions?

I knew about the national dex, and I figured that was the case w/ moving back to the gba. My friend is playing Pearl so between the two of us, getting the national dex should be relatively easy. I only bought Emerald to enhance my Diamond experience, so its nbd about not being able to go back. But thnx for the info. :)

Man tracking down used gba pokemon titles is pretty rough in my area. I've checked 5 eb/gs's locally with no luck on Emerald.

Yeah, I had a little trouble too. And i would think it to be more difficult after that B2G1Free sale on used a little while ago. But Emerald, Ruby and Sapphire are still insanely priced. Like 29.99 for R/S and 34.99 for Emerald if I recall.

But two words for that... Action Replay... only 19.99. Join the darkside and you can get any pokes you want. j/k. But hey, no prob if AR is not for you.

I was actually thinking about that. I really have no issue with it since I am not going to get insane stuff or use it to lvl all my guys to 100 with rare candies. I enjoy the grind.
Plus with fuzzy areas like cloning in emerald being fair game, as well as getting the event pokemon via glitches I don't see what "honorable" action replaying really hurts.

Hmm, I wonder if they are going to release player's choice version of pokemon R/S/E. But knowing nintendo, it'll be by the time they come out with a new handheld.

I got emerald a while back at the gamestore I work at, it was the only one on the shipment that came into the store, and I haven't seen one since. but I wouldn't expect a player's choice of the game for a while, it takes literally FOREVER for nintendo to price cut 1st party games.

i got a question about the game and kinda need help, i currently have a level 20 Gyrados and i was wondering where i can find a good watter based TM to teach it so i can make it my primary water pokemon.... i have put like 12 hours into the game and i just got the 3rd gym badge (with the chick that uses fighting type)

i dont know if this is the right forum to ask for help cuz there are two different threads and i wasnt sure...

I still think Surf is one of the best Water moves in the game.
So I borrowed Emerald from a friend to get a gligar, and lets just say it went better then expected. By better then expected I mean I got not only a Gligar but a SHINY Gligar oh and with the nature and ability I wanted!!!!!! :) I

Ruby and Sapphire are Players Choice already. $19.99 each. I see them everywhere. Emerald is still $40 tho, but I got it from Amazon for like $32
Is Emerald better than ruby or sapphire? Or does it not matter? Mickey
In emerald there's more content such as being able to catch both kyogre and groudon, more battle tower stuff, extra items, tweaked story with a little added content, ability to battle gym leaders again after you've beaten the elite four, and alot of pokemon available at one time.

It's worth it, but there are still some "ruby only" and "sapphire only" pokemon that aren't in emerald.

so I know I'm double posting, but I think this deserves a separate post.

So, I was just walking around in victory road today fighting wild pokemon and training my wifi battle team like usual when I decided to check out my alakazam's stats and see where I was in comparison to another alakazam I have of the same level and I notice that somehow he contracted pokerus! and then I looked at the rest of my team and noticed it spread to all of them too! and then I remembered I had been walking around and fighting with some of my other pokemon and they all got it too. Wow, I didn't know it spread that fast and the best thing is, all my wifi battle team has pokerus which is really going to help out in EV training and getting them ready for battle faster. and on top of that, more than half of all my legendary pokemon that I've acquired from all of the pokemon games now have pokerus.
Thats exactly how it was explained to me at the Nintendo World store. They guy basically said "If there are 30 exclusive Pokes in Ruby, and 30 exclusive Pokes in Sapphire, then Emerald has 15 of those exclusives from each game combined into it.

yeah I was really dissappointed to find out that emerald doesn't have slowpokes, and I had already bought fire red a few weeks before that and it doesn't have slowpokes either, and now I own diamond and there's no slowpokes in that game either. All I want is a slowpoke to make a slowking, but unfortunately, slowpoke is extremely hard for me to come by.

I just started playing my diamond that I haven't had time to touch since I got it on launch day. I'm stuck on the third badge, been to the village with the daycare and the unown relic, and have just been collecting berries and doing the honey tree thing. I finally evolved my Piplup at lv34, and now I've read all the posts up to 5-9-07.

A few questions: how do I get the third badge, what are natures for (timid etc), and if I want to start trying to breed, what should I do?

Maybe more questions after I finish reading the thread.

whew finally finished reading this whole thread. and i'm not going to be able to get online much either, since i'm going to japan saturday. probably another 400 posts before i get back

Wow, that is quite a lot of reading to do at once, especially since forum posts get crazy at times. The only reason I read every page when I get behind is to make sure that (A) I get all the friend codes and (B) that any other issues with the threads are addressed. I also do read them for my own enjoyment though as well! :)
