I saw on my local news " Seinfeld star goes bankrupt, more at 10" but it didn't say which one and there doesn't seem to be anything about it on the web. Does anyone know who it was?
there were only 4 stars and maybe 5-7 main supporting characters...i doubt a star did...
I'd say if anyone it would be kramer, I mean he never worked!

he can't help it that the strike lasted so long

It probaby won't be Jerry since he still does stand up and writes. Probably not Elaine since she's on Arrested Development. George has a new show on either ABC or CBS (I forget), not to mention he did all those KFC commercials. So I guess that leaves Kramer.

Didn't he star (a few years back) in a show that flopped something awful? I can't remember the name of the show, and I'm sure he made no money off of it, but it was work.
Probably Newman
He's been in a bunch of movies and such. I doubt it would be him.

Probably not Elanie (Julia Louis-Dreyfus ) either. She is part of one of the richest families in the world though I suppose she personally could have some money problems.

Was that it? I saw one episode. Awful.

I'd say definitely not Jerry since he and Larry David rake in about $50M per year from syndication.

I didn't know Julia Louis-Dreyfus was going to be on Arrested Development either... Jason Alexander is on Listen Up which I think is doing OK in the ratings.

Yeah she's coming back for another guest spot this season as well.

Oh, it sounded like she was going to be a regular or something...

Nothing at all on the web about this. It's probably one of the minor characters but they say "star" to get your attention. Still, I'm curious to know who it is!

Julia Louis Dreyfus is slated to inherit a boat load of money. Her father's business is worth $2.9 billion. No way it can be her.

Its gotta be the naked fat guy from the subway. I mean how many jobs require that kind of skill in this day and age. There was just no more room for him.

It must be Kramer. I mean I can't remember seeing him in anything other than Seinfeld, and what other roles could he really play besides Kramer. Hell, what is his real name anyway?

Actually, except Jerry, just about all the stars have tried their own shows at one point or another. The only successful one was probably Larry David with Curb Your Enthusiasm, which I personally think is absolutely hilarious.

His name is Michael Richards and he has done a few other things, he was on Friday's in the early 80's and he was in the Weird Al movie.

UHF.

You get to drink from... the FIRE HOSE!!!

If any star of that show went bankrupt they would have to be the stupidest person on the planet. That show will be making money for years to come.
So who did it end up being?
We will never know!

BTW, Julia Louis Dreyfus also did the Commmerce Bank commercial.

It was Jerry Seinfeld's mother on the show. I read it in the Chicago Red Eye newspaper last week.

 She was a nice woman.

Hehe, Stanley Spudowski. ANyone ever try those twinkie dogs??! They're the BEST things since deep-fried twinkies (especially with mustard)! Add a Guinness, and it's a meal.

For someone to have this much Hollywood work and go bankrupt is a joke.

Interesting about her and James Dean though...
Not really all that much work. According to her site she did theater almost exclusively until the 80's. She often as not had minor roles that didn't even merit a name for the character. One of her busiest years, 1985, doesn't appear to have actually had her occupied for more than two months cumulatively out of the whole year.

Fairly typical, actually. Plenty of faces you'd recognize from TV and films are not making a living as fulltime actors. The last time I saw figures from SAG, well under 10% of the membership was managing fulltime employment for scale, never mind the more lucrative paychecks we associate with the profession.

I have seen those SAG stats too. However, if the story is true, she became broke AFTER her biggest gig with Seinfeld, not while she was doing theatre work. Plus she is in her 70's. There is no excuse to not manage one's finances better than that. She may just be an illiogical person though.

One thing to keep in mind is that, at her age, she could easily be having medical problems, and those sort of things can be majorly expensive.
