I see they added the achievements for the "Power and Glory DLC" on xbox.com and they're pretty much feebies.

I'm really bummed that the Lancia Stratos isn't part of the Power & Glory pack. By the time they release that baby I'll be totally out of DiRT Tour events to use it in! Moneygrubbing jerks.

I also really regret joining the CodeMasters forums. They just sent out a mass email saying their site was completely compromised one week ago, and all personal data, email addresses, passwords, XBL gamertags, etc. have been stolen by some hacker.

Can't wait for the Stratos either, but there is still mp and upcoming DLC events to use it in or time trial and replaying events in career is still fun, although I don't know why they capped sp levels as that gave sp a bit of competition among friends once career was done in D2. Can you even view friends/world levels for sp or mp in 3? I wonder what the highest mp level is right now.

Oh that's nothing lol, I completely stuck my car into the tires there, under the ramp, but didn't record it. I could be lying but you'll just have to take my word for it haha.
Gaw, crap I was hoping the email that I just read that said yeah we got hacked was indeed a fake. Grr back to the drawing board for password changes.
 
FYI, Kmart (including online) has Dirt 3 this week for $39.99. I'd rather buy from amazon, though, so I reported the lower price there and am keeping my fingers crossed.

Nice, thanks for the news. That pack price is actually a huge surprise! With each car at 160 MSP, the pack is a 40% discount over buying each car separate. Once they priced the Escort at 160 I was sure we were going to have to pay $10 for the pack.

Now where's my Stratos? :cool:

Looks like the Monte Carlo DLC is coming June 28, so maybe the next car pack will drop on the 21st? That Monte Carlo description sounds great.

I'm finally caving and going to K-Mart on my lunch break to pick this up. I have a $20 coupon from L.A. Noire that will make it $20 so it's pretty much a no-brainer, although they do have some other good games on sale this week that were competing for my coupon.
 
Sadly I've never been able to participate in the Cat n' Mouse mode but it sounds fun. NFS: HP online was fun too and sounds like a similar game mode.
 
After playing Dirt 2 for a month or so to see if I should get Dirt 3, I finally caved in and got it. I'm liking it a lot, but not quite as much as Dirt 2. I think its because I'm still getting used to the feel of the driving as it doesnt seem to be as tight as in Dirt 2.

Ha hah! All Platinum medals for all the DC Challenges. That damn bobsled race one lol, you gotta be perfect to pull it off. Had a problem with a few Gymkhana Challenges but managed to grab platinum finally.

I picked up the Power and Glory pack, have only raced a few of the cars but now I'm working on personal best times on events in time trial for single player.
 
Yeah I thought I was done with this game, I've gold and platinumed each race/challenge, really the only thing I have left is online. So I decided to mess around in the DC Compound and really really wish that Codemasters would have given us the option to create tracks via checkpoints or whatever. Raced around and made my own race tracks, too bad you can't create and share with friends since the DC Compound is like the infinite race generator playground.
 
Yeah it still says coming soon although when does their week start as I know a lot of releases and DLC comes out on the Tuesday of a week for some marketing reason.
 
I read on the Codemasters forum that it's slated to release on 6/28. Here's hoping the next DLC (Lancia Stratos included) comes out next week, not this every other week BS.

As much as I want to use that Mini in Gymkhana, I can't blow 160 MSP on a car I basically already have. Would rather spend two bucks to get the any car/any track option back from DiRT 2.

That said, I'll probably spend the 800 MSP left in my account on Monte Carlo when I get home today. Pricey but I can't resist another rally location!
 
Damn, after buying the Black Ops map pack today I have limited points left. I might just end up buying the Monte Carlo DLC. I might have enough to also get the Power and Glory DLC but how does everybody like the included cars that has it? I also really want that Mini for Ghymkhana :whistle2:k

Regardless, I need to get back into Dirt 3.

Power and Glory is definitely worth it IMO, but I am a major fan of the Lancia S4 and am willing to pay the price to have as many Group B cars as possible. The BMW M3 is also pretty awesome. Compared to each individual car's price, the pack is a smart move monetarily if you like at least 2 or 3 of the cars included.

The Camaro SSX is a beast on Trailblazer, the M3 is fantastic and the Focus ST has fantastic acceleration. The rest are nice to have, but I only use these 3. As long as the DLC for Dirt 3 is not outrageously priced, I'll support CM as I hope to see DLC w/ the Dirt installments down the line. What they pulled w/ Dirt 2 DLC was pathetic.

The Dirt 3 Monte Carlo pack I'll def get but yeah that mini gymkhana car I will not. I do love the Camaro SSX car, holy shit it is a beast.
 
I'm only around 30% or so through the Dirt Tour and I just wanted to make sure that it doesn't make you do the GymKhana stuff to complete it, does it? I HATE HATE HATE the Gymkhana crap with a passion. So far I have at least bronzed what I've encountered so far but I get the feeling it's going to get much harder and I see myself struggling big time. Overall though I am enjoying the game more than the first two!

Pretty sure you can get by just bronzing the Gym events. I used to really dislike Gymkhana as well, but once I got the hang of it, it's actually fun and helps better my car control ability. Don't get me wrong though--nothing beats Rally, Trailblazer, and Cat 'n' Mouse of course.

You'll need to bronze all of the Gymkhana Academy events in the first season, the rest are not needed to progress through the rest of the seasons. Skipping them however will require you to gold/silver the majority of the other events since you are essentially skipping out on the needed points to unlock future events.

Wow while I was looking at the possible downloads for Dirt 3 I have all the individual cars still say download for 180 Microsoft Points. I already bought the pack so I don't understand why they don't mark those already downloaded. Hmm, cool I was expecting the Monte Carlo pack to be a bigger download.

ok, so maybe this is a stupid question, but I dont see the option for Monte Carlo in DiRT Tour. Do you access this DLC via Single races only?

The Monte Carlo races in DiRT Tour show up under the regular big triangles. Some of the events I had earned overall gold on were reverted to their original design until I beat the new races.

I got this game from the library so I didn't have to pay anything for it, but I've already spent over $26 on DLC (including online pass) and there's still more coming :cold:

Think of it as a thankful donation to Codemasters for making a fairly good offroad racing game.

Monte Carlo makes me want to rally race through Germany, Dirt 1 location, again. :drool:
 
Sucks that unless you specifically choose Monte Carlo in a Jam Session, it will never get pushed to the other online racing population. Also the fog weather addition is kinda minimal and also only appears on Monte Carlo. Hope they can come up w/ a way to implement it to the normal rotation and separate the population of DLC owners and non DLC owners similar to Halo/CoD matchmaking. I'd also like to see the option to choose the Monte Carlo segments in a custom Cat N Mouse. =D

Regardless, I enjoyed the hell out of the new career races and the two new Minis. Here's my Monte Carlo contribution clip. =]

Yeah, I'm very disappointed we can't play Cat 'n' Mouse in Monte Carlo. During that first race I ran and wrecked out off the cliff, all I could imagine were four Group B cars and a Mini careening off the same way :lol:
 
I just did custom match and can see Monte Carlo or whatever. Yeah it was pretty funny to see everyone wreck their car on the track hehe. I like the track but there are a few narrow spots where you can not pass your opponents. That and people like to race RAID vehicles on Monte Carlo?! Kind of love using the Ford Fiesta though.

Yeah, the custom made Jam Session races is the only place you'll see the Monte Carlo rally segments, they won't be pushed to the randomly selected Pro Tour Race modes.
 
Horn pack? Ugh. The only way I'll buy is if they include La Cucaracha.

It's a shame that instead of making sure their game is good enough to merit more than a two month shelf life after release, game companies keep early buyers and potential traders in limbo by staggering DLC releases like this. It's not like they're actually still developing this content.

Just gimme my dang Stratos :)
 
Yeah, was hoping to get one of the two DLC packs we know are coming thanks to them including the associated achievements in the D3 achievement listing already. Bleh !
 
Forget dropping the ball with staggered DLC releases (although I do agree with that sentiment and wanting the stratos to come out.) I just want a patch so I can play rally segments. It's the main part of the game to me!

I wonder if I got Monte Carlo if it would even work for me since it's a rally event? That would be infuriating if I paid $10 and it didn't work.
 
I didn't know you were still dealing with that issue jdawgg. Have you looked over the Codemasters forums for a solution? That really bites.
