There is a difference between playing fair and abusing the system. I can guaran-DAMN-tee you that Cheapy doesn't approve of this kind of "hey, let's exploit the system and fuck up a contest" kinda shenanigans. And that's what they are.

"Not my fault you don't read the forums enough!" That's because some of us don't spend every minute of every day in front of the goddamn computer on forum boards looking for free shit. Some of us have jobs and lives outside of video games and forum boards.
 
just saw the new ads in-game...text deadliest to 52580.

no instant winner, but looks like they'll alert those that win at the end of that day,

Where on earth do you have the proof to say such a thing? Not everyone thinks as you do, just in case you didn't know. I was quite aware of the exploit before they cracked down on it, but simply decided not to soil my integrity by participating in fraud. You can try to rationalize it all you want, but it still doesn't make it right - theft is theft, that's all there is to it.

Amen. This place is called CheapAssGamer, not CrookedAssCheatingThievingScumbagGamer. Just because we all like free stuff doesn't mean that it is okay to break the rules or steal prizes through fraudulent entries.
 
Im glad i exploited this. I don't buy MSP's that much so any chance I get I take. All i can to the legitimate players is "sucks for you".

this basically sums up the other side I think, they want something they arent willing to pay for normal, and instead of taking a FAIR amount they take enough to ruin it for everyone else, and then when they get banned for it its microsoft or us that are in the wrong, either because we didnt take part in stealing something, or because its microsoft
 
This is getting me angry, I have T-Mobile and unlimited texting and for some reason ti says I don't have a plan. I also have a G1-phone, so wtf is going on??

boy am i late on this one.

all of these types of promos become "who is the bigger cheap ass" anyway. still entering, i'm just bummed i missed out on the easy points boat.

I checked this out myself since I was wondering. You can do either but only a combined total of 3 times. I went with the site since I don't have a text messaging package.

Yeah. I suggest that everyone just does the form rather then texting. It's a lot easier and you don't even need a texting plan. Anyone else still doing this legit? I am and I'm hoping for a decent amount of points :D

I talked the wife into doing it as well as some freinds from work who just like to help. I am hoping to pick a couple arcade games and maybe a rock band track pack in conjunction with any wins from the star trek promo.
 
I still fail to see why those who didn't abuse the system are complaining now. You have the same chances of winning as before (1% per entry). By removing illegitimate entries, the amount of codes available is more fairly distributed which means late entries benefit.
 
you can only enter 3 times a day with a same number or email. So doesn't matter if you enter by the link or by your phone if you're going to use the same number they'll disqualify you like they said.
And to everyone that said the contest got ruined. NO it's still there. Just the winning method has been changed to announce at the end of the contest which is Tuesday. You still have the same percentage of chance of winning as you would since the beginning. Like the mod has been saying stop the crap about fraud and accept the fact what've done is done. And good luck to everyone on the rest of the contest. There are still the 4000 MSP grand prizes.
 
it wasnt ruined as in shut down, it was ruined as in no more instant codes, and its the same idea as now when i go to walmart i have to go through the smoke register to buy baby formula because other people stole, i can have my opinion of it, plus the 1% chance was ruined with people getting over the 1200 legit limit a day

No it's no different than before aside from they won't announce if you've won instantly. But save it til the end of the contest which is tomorrow. If you still doing it "legit" then you still have chance of getting 3 x 400 MSP a day (assuming you're that lucky). If you're thinking about getting over 3 wons a day you are no different from the people "Exploited" this.
 
At this point, I feel like I'm talking to a wall, but I'll give it one more shot to explain to you that an abuser did nothing more than delay a win notification.

Sure, you are welcome to have your opinion of it, and I am entitled to have mine. Unless you entered after all codes were gone, your 1% chance was the same at any other time. Your chance of winning is determined at the moment you press Submit and is not based on anything more than the existence of remaining codes.

I believe you're bitter that you didn't win the random draw, so you take it out on those who kept pushing the system and won. If you entered legitimately and lost, someone else abusing the system had absolutely nothing to do with it. The only time this was an issue was the night of the first day. After that, the playing field was evened out for everyone (in theory).

Remember, the draw is daily and capped at 1250 prizes (of 400 MSP each). At the time you enter your info, you are given a random number. If you number matches the pre-determined winner, you win. If not, you don't win. The only way an abuser would take this away from you is if you entered late on the first day and first day only.

You cannot win 3 in a day. The contest would shut out your phone number if you already won once. You have 3 chances to win 1.

Keep the posts on topic with the contest itself, which is still alive, or don't bother posting at all.

I'm still unsure how they are gonna handle that final drawing AT THE END of the promotion period. The way it's worded gives makes it sound like only ONE drawing will be held. There's several logical ways of doing it where everyone still has an equal chance of winning up to two 400 MSP codes from this promotion. But, if the selection process not done correctly, the legit players will lose out by only being able to win at max one 400 MSP code. On the other hand, chances winning in any method chosen will be higher due to far fewer fraudulent entries.

If you still doing it "legit" then you still have chance of getting 3 x 400 MSP a day (assuming you're that lucky). If you're thinking about getting over 3 wons a day you are no different from the people "Exploited" this.

No, if you were playing this sweepstakes by the rules, then you were restricted to one win per day.
After you won, you weren't allowed to re-enter during that same calendar day even if you had won on the 1st of your three entries.

They're still giving out the 400 MS prizes. They just don't hand it out instantly anymore but at the end of the contest. So if you win 1 a day you still get 2 since it ends tomorrow. Totally forgot about only 1 win a day. And yeah good luck to CAGs on the 4000 MSP prize.

Lol. I'm with you on that one mantis. I saw Aceboogz post that he doubled the grand prize, meaning that he already got 8000 MSP, but he already edited it to "what's today's word"
 
Could they catch you if you use 1 email addy and 1 phone # 3 times per day? So we could still register a couple emails just make sure to change the number as well?
 
The code in Madden said "deadliest" again, so just for the hell of it I tried "catch" which actually worked. Today's word is "catch" haha
 
"CATCH" is just the alert signup. says so when invalid word is entered.

speaking of, i watched the inside xbox video, at the end it said "BERING", but that gives an invalid when typed.

what the hell is the word?
 
when I entered "catch", it said thanks for entering. so i think it worked for me.

at the end it says the new season starts tonight at 9pm (new season does start tonight April 14 woot!!!) ,

From my quick glance at the rules, you are only allowed 3 entries total, despite entry method.
Just do online entry 3 times a day, and forget all the texting junk.
 
Man, I'm pissed that I didn't get an opportunity to win at least 400 points instantly. I only need 160 points for this SD vs. Raw DLC and haven't won crap on this or the Rock Band deal....
 
OT topic, but I'm looking forward to this season. I spent 2 weeks in Dutch Harbor in January inspecting the crab as it came in. Met some of the boat captains. It was a really cool experience.
 
I don't understnd why everone is under the impression that this contest is over. The only thing that's over is the instant win that they had before. Quite frankly I suggest just filling out the form every day rather then texting them.
