DJPubba has wrote on the forums at Doublejump that the art books are gone, and he's going to provide an update as soon as he can.

This is a DISASTER, fuck NIS.

So to the people who are ordering from DJ expecting an art book at this point and time, you're not getting one.

http://www.doublejumpbooks.com/yabbse/index.php?topic=4106.0
Well, it is supposed to be limited, so we can't all have one. Still, NIS was definitely not prepared to deal with this pre-order campaign. If you're going to hard sell a pre-order start date, then you better have your resources ready to handle any load on the big day.

So are they going to tell those who get the art book that one will be in their order or are they just going to ship the sets out without anyone knowing? If I'm not getting one I'll probably cancel my order.

Exactly.

I don't get how they can limit it to only 1,000, offer it in TWO different packages, and then go ahead and split that with ANOTHER website.

This is just a very poor promotion, and dosen't seem well thought out at all.

1000 books is a little on the low side ... more like 10000 to 20000 would have been more appropriate considering how many gamers are out there these days compared to years ago.
So are they going to tell those who get the art book that one will be in their order or are they just going to ship the sets out without anyone knowing? If I'm not getting one I'll probably cancel my order.
Nobody knows... the link I proved, DJPubba just says he'll update everyone when he can.

Also, I didn't receive any confirmation from DJ about my order, either. I think their backend processing is backlogged with all the runoff from folks who couldn't get to NIS.

Wow, it's hard to believe that so many people jumped on this??
So for the really early ones that got in... what was your order number?

Mine is in the 3600s, so I'm wondering if that's still the first 1000 or so...
I actually ordered a Prinny Plushie yesterday and my order # for that is in the 3400s, so I don't see how they could be out of art books unless hoarders have been ordering multiple copies of both sets.

Update!

More info about the art book... the first 153 people who ordered the limited edition sets from DoubleJump will get the art books. It looks like we reached that number at about 10:45 am PST. If you ordered after that, you probably won't get one.

You'll get confirmations of your order shortly with the links to download the goodies.

Sometime after that we'll let you know if you were one of the first 153 DoubleJump orders.

That's from DJpubba

Mine was 9:27am according to my acocunt page which looks like that first bunch of us who ordered this morning will get theirs.
where on the nisamerica store can you see how many "points" you have stored up? I had 80 before this, so with it i should have 155. So the next order I place $10 should be taken off automatically?
What points are you talking about and where do you check your balance?

Awesome... mine was 9:33 am.

I got my NIS order in at 10:46PST. Order number was low 3500's. Most likely I will get the art book

I'm currently using the Prinny cursors. Cute but hard to get used to...

NIS points:

For every dollar you spend at NISs online store, you get ten points. Save up 1000 points (100 dollars worth of purchases) and you get $10 off an order.

Log into the store, and it should pull up your balance right on the front on the left side. I have 799 right now. Needless to say, a $75 purchase, is almost a $10 coupon in itself.

got mine order in at 948 PST time so looks like im good to go .

now i call Bullcrap about 1000 ART BOOKS . NIS said n the phone today doublejump got a very small order.. I wouldnt call 15% small

i find it werid it says they ran out at 1045 but will let people know if you get a book. I say if you got an order in before 1030 they better give you the books

Crap now what to do with an 80 buck package. Anyone know what the magna thing is (big / small)

Just got my order confirmation from DoubleJump:

Thank you for ordering the Disgaea 2 Limited Edition set from DoubleJump Publishing! Your order has been received and processed.

We are still counting and determining which orders were placed in time to receive the art book. We will send another email letting you know for sure whether you ordered in time. Preliminary estimates show that the ones available for DoubleJump customers ran out at about 10:45 am PST. If you ordered past that time then you probably missed the art book.

Definitally cancelling from DJ if I don't get the art book. My order was placed at 10:51, so we'll see how that goes.

This is disappointing on NISA's part because I purposly made time to go and preorder this thing the minute it went on sale and their site was down for who knows how long. By the time I gave in and went to DJ's site, I am probably going to miss out on the artbook? Way to go guys!

Hmm. If I can't get the art books and extra stuff, I might as well order it for $39 from outpost.com. That'll be 3 open orders for me so far...

nothing comes up on the side... i should have 1550 points now... wtf mate

For what it's worth, it took forever for the points I got from Atelier Iris 2 to show up. I preordered it and they just didn't show up for who knows how long, so I actually stopped checking after awhile and just saw they were added yesterday when I went to confirm my login/pw for the NISA store.

This is an absolute mess. If I don't get the artbook, out of sheer principle, I will NEVER order anything from NIS again, regardless of how good the bonus is. This is worse than the MGS3 LE debacle which is insane (although the artbook will sell for a lot less than that does I'm sure).

Last page of the downloadable PDF guide shows the anime is coming to the US in December, courtesy of Geneon.

Interesting, the site never mentioned anything about reward points.

Anyway, it was the first time I ordered from NIS. My points should show up after my gamer set has shipped, right?

Just for reference: a poster at the NIS forums (dariche) posted very early on that he got in on it, and that his order number was #3507. He sent an email to NIS and got a reply that stated "According to your order number, it appears you are well within the first 1,000 orders to receive the limited-edition artbook." If he got in early (I think he started the thread at like 10:10) and his order # was 3507 and according to the email he's in good shape, then I think everyone may be waaaaaaaaaaaay overreacting since I don't think I've seen anybody with a order # way past that or anything. Our order was placed about 10:41 PST time and it was only 3607.

I'm looking and I don't even see anybody past the 3600s, so there may be a lot of flipping out for nothing. I've sent them an email to see what they say about our order though.

Looks like I'll be cool getting my Artbook, I ordered from Double Jump at 9:33am. Oh yah and anyone who was wondering when you finally do get your DJ conformation the Links for the manual and cursor are in it. I'm glad I didn't bother with the crashing NIS store debacle... not to mention the whole crashing in the middle of order processing.

[edit] Dood! ... t3h Prinny cursor is awesome!

PeaceOut->
nothing comes up on the side... i should have 1550 points now... wtf mate
I have 3200 points but I have no idea how to redeem the points either.
Either NIS didn't implement a way to redeem the points or I'm blind.

Glanced at the manual... uhmm... wow. I think I'll love this game. There's so much shit to it that you could practically live in the Disgaea world for months.

*Sigh* I should've expected this considering how fucking shitty the NIS store is. I waited 10 minutes past the time it was SUPPOSED to start and then I had to go to work. I get back from work and now it's too late.

This is shit. NIS isn't seeing a penny of my money anymore ever. Anything I want I'll just buy used on feebay.

I got the email confirmation, but I don't have the order number. Where can you check that so I can make sure I'm under 3600?

Hmm... I didn't get in until around 12:45, and my order number was only 3621... either everybody jumped aboard the Doublejump bandwagon, or there were very few orders between 10:41 and 12:45 because of the site problems.

it is in the order confirmation, 3rd line
the second way would be to login to nisamerica's shop and click on "order tracking" on the left hand side.

Crap, I missed the art book (my receipt from DoubleJump says 12:44pm PST). I guess the guide and soundtrack will have to be enough to cover the extra $$ I'm forking out for this set.

Do you think if I piss and moan to NIS enough they will send me a Prinney Plushie? :D
Actually...I ordered through DoubleJump. Is there still a way for me to get an idea of where I'm at?
Did you set up an account there? If you did, you can login and see what time your order was placed. Or if you printed out your reciept the date and time are on there too.

I wonder if there aren't still sets available at NIS? I know they allocated 154 to Doublejump, but that still leaves 846. Even if everybody ordered two per order, and orders started at 3400, that would leave enough artbooks until the 3800s.

If you ordered thru DoubleJump, then the order# (3600 or so) does not apply to you at all.

cut and paste from doublejump's forum

Yeah. It says my order was placed at 10:25. I guess that means I probably got it.

Im order 3651...heres an email

Thank you for purchasing the Disgaea 2 Complete Set.
You will be receiving the artbook with your order.

Thank you for your support,

That's true, thanks for pointing that out. Oh well, I took one for the team and placed an order just now at NIS on top of the DJ one--my order is past 3846 so I believe anyone who hasn't ordered yet is SOL. I already know there are folks who ordered more than one and who knows how many went up to the limit per person, so I believe the art books are all accounted for.

Since the shipping @NIS is cheaper than DJ, I'm in the process of trying to cancel the DJ one.

Gah, I should've kept trying to order at NIS before pulling the trigger @DJ. :bomb:
