If it is true they will have two different starter versions, I will jump on that Disney Originals one for sure. Marvel is not that interesting to me but I do like the thought of a couple of the figures but Donald Duck alone is much more appealing to me.
Who wants more Disney?! You got it...
Walmart has put up pre-orders for...
Donald Duck, Tinkerbell, Stitch, Crystal Sorcerer Mickey, Hiro and Bay Max.
Plus a Disney Original's Set? Check out more...

GCU is on sale for $60 right now for the two years. If you buy this, you already save $15 of that $60.Thanks for the tip about the Spider-Man playset free with the preorder. I don't have GCU (just missed the cut-off to be grandfathered in and spending $120 is not going to happen), but even so it's a good deal since I already have a $50 gift card for BB. I'm too cheap a gamer and too much of a backlog to get in on that deal.
I called and asked them why I could not order the Wii U version on the web site and get the free figure. She said I should be able to and that she would have to do an override. When she asked which figure I wanted for free, I told her the web site lists the Spider-man play set as an option. She put the order in for me for the Wii U version and a free Spider-man play set.Did you do this yourself vader?
Just wondering how much info. to give up.
Tell them the two sku's and it'll automatically give you a total of $74.99, or do you have to bring attention to the fact that the offer doesn't include the Wii U version?
Getting ready to call, found out they added the Wii U option to the website. Well, now I'm torn. Do I keep my PS4 pre-order, or cancel and switch to Wii-U? I don't have enough info about the new version to make an educated decision. I chose Wii-U for the original infinity because of the gamepad integration (and because I found it cheap), but if they do something with Vita for the PS4 version (unlikely, I guess), then I may want to go with that one.Getting ready to call, found out they added the Wii U option to the website. Does best buy charge your card right away or is it charged when the order ships?I ended up doing the best buy preorder to get spiderman playset. I wasn't sure I was going to end up buying back into Infinity but that deal is too good to pass up.
Well I have a pending charge on my account for the $59.99. Hopefully it drops off in a couple days and it's just an authorization, because if not, they're gonna get a nasty phone call from me.Charge when it ships. I asked yesterday
Ok thank you! Also wondering how you guys are getting it for 59.99? Did I miss something? Might have missed this too but how long is this promo going on for?Well I have a pending charge on my account for the $59.99. The $59.99 price is after the Gamers Club Unlocked discount of 20%.Ok thank you! Also wondering how you guys are getting it for 59.99? Did I miss something? Might have missed this too but how long is this promo going on for?
Do you realistically think you'll still be playing DI 2.0 in late 2015?My own "problem" is that I will probably get an Xbox One/PS4 in late 2015. Do I get the 360 version now and just get the updated console edition next year again when it's cheaper?
I don't know if they still do this, but Best Buy online orders periodically would ping your card every so often to make sure you still had the funds available. It never actually charged, but it would tie up the available credit.Well I have a pending charge on my account for the $59.99. Hey, I'm a CAG gamer dad with a backlog of games from the original Xbox and Gamecube, much less the PS3 and Xbox 360 I still need to play, so yeah!Do you realistically think you'll still be playing DI 2.0 in late 2015?
Wait... what's this all about? When did they announce you can just upgrade 1.0 to 2.0? Anyone know price? So wait, there will be a digital upgrade to 2.0 and the figures will be available separately that are included in the starter? So my preordering to get the free Spidey set makes no sense since I already have Infinity, right? Ugh.
I just googled it and found this link: http://www.polygon.com/2014/6/6/5785180/disney-infinity-2-0-preview-e3-2014-avalanche-softwareWhere'd you hear about a digital upgrade?
I wasn't aware of this and you guys just saved me from pre-ordering it too. this is awesome to hear and I'd much rather just upgrade what I have without getting another base, disc, etc.Disney will give owners of Disney Infinity the opportunity to purchase a digital upgrade to this year's game through the PlayStation Store, Wii U eShop or Xbox Games Store, an offer that makes sense with the company referring to the franchise as a software platform. Players can then go out and purchase the new characters individually, or buy packages such as the Play Set for Marvel's The Avengers, instead of paying for another Starter Pack. (The existing Infinity Base will also work with the new game.)

EDIT:
Even more info here: http://infinityinquirer.com/2014/05/02/disney-infinity-2-0-so-what-all-is-going-to-be-compatible/
I talked to the manager at my best buy here about this (idk how reliable he is so take it for what its worth) and he said the digital upgrade would not be cross platform meaning if you have the 360 DI 1.0 you can't digitally upgrade it to 2.0 on your xbone only in your 360! He says these are not programmed for cross platform use. Again not sure how reliable that is but he seems to know what he is talking about. This definitely needs a concrete explanation. Is it something where if you own 1.0, you get a free 2.0 download, or a discounted one? Is it a cross-platform option, or even cross-manufacturer? If I got 1.0 for the Wii U (something I opted not to do because 2.0 is coming), could I get the DL for free on my One, or just a Wii U?
I need the 'tails.
My assumption is that they have to say it's the Toy Box because if you do not buy anything else, that is literally all you get since you obviously can't get the Starter Kit's playset digitally. So technically they are correct - it's Toy Box only, until you buy some playsets. That Infinity Inquirer article points out that the 2.0 digital is only Toy Box mode, which makes sense. So, I guess you can buy the adventures a la carte with figures? I like the idea of the game as a platform, and you just apply/remove adventures as desired.
This isn't so great if the digital version is Toy Box only, and if you want to play the adventures packed into starters and play sets, you need the disc. Still, I guess every step taken forward is a good thing.
Considering the base for the game does nothing else useful beyond holding down loose paper or leveling a table, I can't see why they wouldn't let you buy the digital version on any platform you wish. I think any 'discount' you get from Disney is the fact you are buying it for less than the physical bundle in a store because you aren't buying the pieces of plastic. I don't think you're going to get anything off the price for having a 1.0 disc laying around - this is Disney, remember?
The only angle might be customer service for anyone migrating on or off an Xbox platform and the compatibility of the base connection.
Not by default of course, but it sounds like they would make them available separately.I would assume if you did the download only route you wouldn't be getting the starter set figures?
Right. I'm talking more about the actual assets/programming for the playset adventures. I can't see why they would do it that way, but it's theoretically possible that they would require you to have a disc to make the plastic adventure piece work (because the levels and such aren't in the plastic piece - it just unlocks that code on the disc). My assumption is that they have to say it's the Toy Box because if you do not buy anything else, that is literally all you get since you obviously can't get the Starter Kit's playset digitally.
