Dissidia 012 [duodecim] Final Fantasy topic
i've been looking at getting the prologue to tide me over until i can afford the full game... is it worth it?
It is a couple hours of Lightning being a bitch. So your call, gameplay isn't bad though.

haha, noted. are the carry-over items worthwhile?

It's more like 20 minutes.

Not when you do a few of these key things to my Dissidia experience.

1.) Suck at it. Hard
2.) Only play on the crapper and if you aren't done with a fight by the time you have dropped your load, you stop playing.
3.) Play it in RPG mode, where it is easier to suck.
This game is going to be such a time sink. In the first one I put in 18 mostly on Tidus and I didn't even max out.
I got a buddy who put in about 130 hours into the first one. Got every item and every character to 100. Blew my mind.

I'll pick it up when it's cheaper. I got the first one primarily for the eye candy and music. Playing computers just isn't that interesting in fighting games to me...

The outfit is cool, but not $26 cool. I am sure you will be able to buy the costume packs off the PSN late April/May. And it is not on the disc if anyone is wondering. It was around over 3MB.

That is sick. It is a freaking costume.

Prologus is such a dumb name.

I havn't played Dissidia yet (but I bought it), so I am not ready to get this game yet. But why is the name so awful though? "Dissidia 012 [duodecim]" Really? Just call it Duodecim!
Wow, Gamestop sure is fast. I got my code monday then got my game today 23, one day after release date. lol.
Amazon actually gave me the code on Monday, day before the game came in. I was like WTH am I suppose to do with this?

I was gonna order one from amazon, but I like Cloud's KH. It was the firs time I preordered from GS. lol.

Now I don't know if I should stop playing Tactics Ogre and play this game...

It would be nice if other square enix games comes with a pre order dlc for this game, like Parasite eve. I remember FF has a dlc bonus for duodecim.

Edit: just look at this tifa code on ebay. It's already selling for $41 last time I checked. lol.

April – Cecil’s Knight of Two Moons costume

Voucher pack-in with Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection

March 22 (but you can’t get the voucher until later!) – Lightning as Aya Brea costume

Voucher pack-in with The 3rd Birthday

Dude! Cloud's costume is rare as hell in Japan. It's only receivable through purchasing the International version of KH BBS. And it's on Buy it now for 21.99. While Tifa's costume is supposed to be common, and it has bids of 61bucks!?

In other news, how is everyone liking the campaign? I was hoping it would be more like the first game, but so far it seems like you have to alternate between certain characters. I am using Vaan now, and can not wait to try someone else.

i only played mine for around 20 mins.... still trying to figure out how to play it maybe when i get some sleep i will understand it more
I struggled with the first game and I struggle with this one. I can barely beat the levels on the easy setting.
The game is a little difficult, considering how you can not heal while in one of the battle grids as far as I know. I remember the last one had potions, so I am sure you can get them later on.

Man, should have considered selling my tifa code. I didn't know people were desperate for these codes.
It's half-naked Tifa. Some folk appearently play Dissidia one handed.
Isn't that all Tifas though?

Is it worth it beating the 25 levels of Hard Arcade mode on Prologus with each character? I beat the "story" and am working on the normal Arcade mode with the 7 characters.

What does everyone think about all the DLCs being scattered across different games and places?

Like the Aya costume DLC being stuck in The 3rd Birthday game and the Cecil costume DLC being stuck in the new Final Fantasy IV game and KH Cloud and Tifa being stuck in different preorder locations?

Do you feel like it's something of a treasure hunt or is it something that's kind of ERGH?

I think unless you are a huge S-E fan they really don't expect you to get all the costumes. If you buy their games, you get costumes, if you don't, they don't really care what you try to do to track themdown.

...plus they'll probably have them all available to buy for $3 in a month anyway. er, provided that psn exists in a month ;)

I think it's a bit of a neat (unexpected) bonus (I got The 3rd Birthday game on preorder because I'm a Parasite Eve fan and so I got the Aya outfit unexpectedly) but at the same, I'm something of a completionist when it comes to games and so it's a bit frustrating (right now - maybe PSN will release them to the general public) that the other outfits (Tifa's for example) are unavailable unless you want to shell out a ton of money.

 Good point!
Do i need to play the first one to get the second?
pending in from Zavvi and this is my first dissidia game
Nope.

Chronologically, Dissidia 012 takes place before Dissidia (the first). In addition, Dissidia 012 contains the entire first game, with their campaigns redone to make use of many of 012's new mechanics.
