Do you believe in ghosts?

CAGiversary!
A few years ago I was going thru a pretty rough period in my life. I kept having a dream of an old woman wearing a shawl, sitting in a rocking chair and reapeating my name and telling me everything would work out fine. I had this dream every night for like 3 weeks straight. Then it stopped.

A few months passed and I was going through some old pictures with my Mom when she turned around and said Oh! look at this one, it's a picture of your great grandmother. I looked at the picture and my heart stopped. It was the same woman that was in my dream and I had never seen that picture before.

Just wondering if anyone else has ever had some kind of ghostly experience.

Yep, sitting in my room at like 4 in the morning, everything is dark, and I see a faded figure floating by my door. I was not sleeping ecasue I never went back to sleep after that.

I used to live in a house that was about 40-50 feet away from a children's cemetary. You couldn't really see it because it was beyond a fence that was covered heavily in brush and trees, so I didn't discover it until a month or so after I had been living there, just picking around my yard. After that, I always could've sworn I had people touching me or something as I walked down the halls of my house, or that I would always see weird lights in my home.. but I'm like 95% positive that was my mind playing tricks on me, because I knew what was basically in my yard.

Sounds more like a case of Deja-Vue than ghosts, there was a study done on this where you see things thatll happen in the future in your dreams, its like really odd, happened to me a few times

i saw a mouse run across the living room floor at 3am the other day, it scared the bejezus outta me.

and yes, i do believe in ghosts, theres gotta be something to do in the afterlife.

I believe in them...I saw a picture when I was little of my great grandmas grave and there was a white woman in a dress standing next to it...My grandma said it wasnt there when she took the photo...Also I think I have one in my apt. sometimes stuff will fall for no reason...like stuff waaaayy back on a shelf...or I will hear a really loud thud in my room (like my tv falling off the stand) and nothing will have fallen...I know its not in the apt. next to us, I know it was in my room...I also saw a UFO when I live in Hawaii...I looked up in the sky and this light went across the sky in a jagged manor...no it wasnt a shooting star...it didnt go straight

I personally dont believe in ghosts, but as for your dreams I believe the dead can reach out to us in times of need, in our minds, like for example my mom constantly has dreams of her mom in many situations, these dreams usually occur during times of hardship, I miss my grandmother but I still havent seen her in any of my dreams so maybe its psychological.

the neighborhood that we're building our house in is haunted.

it was an old civil war battle ground.

almost every person that lives in that neighborhood has seen a ghost :(

theres this small creek or something like a creek, and apparently during the civil war, mosquitos carried diseases from it and people got infected with shit. This one woman said she was in bed and she woke up and this little girl was in the bed next to her with bumps all over her body, and the little girl was like.. "get these bumps off of me!" ... yea i'd totally shit myself and never sleep again if that ever happened to me...

also these other people said that sometimes their son who's like.. somewhere between 4-8 years old, i dont remember exactly how old, well sometimes he'll be out in the yard and his parents will see him talking to himself. and then he'll come inside and be like.. that was a nice man. and they'll be like who? and he said "that army guy" or some shit..

yea.. should be interesting living out there..

seeing a ghost in the daytime, outside and actually talking to it, would be pretty cool.. if it wasnt one of those scary ass ghosts that tries to freak you out.. but at night time in the dark.. in my room.. .no..

also my aunt was asleep onetime in her old house, and she had a dream that cats were chasin her.. like a ton of cats.. then she woke up and sat up and my uncle was like.. whats wrong? and she's like.. i had a dream that i was being chased by a bunch of cats.. then she looked down and she had cat claw marks all over her arms and legs and stuff... but they dont have a cat...

also her son was in his room one night and he was callin his moms name. and she went in there, and she's like.. what do u want? and he said 'tell christopher (his little brother) to get out of my room" and she's like... uh.. he's not in ur room... he swears that he saw a little boy standing in the corner of his room...

if anything like that ever happend to me... fukkin swear i'd never sleep again.. i would probably be traumatized.

I was abducted by a UFO once.... really
They all had one eye, hair lips and wore pink shirts.
They probed my nostils, mouth and anus with several cylynder shaped objects dipped in a lime green substance that smelled like rotten cheese sauce.

also i forgot to mention...

my cousins grandad was real sick, and he couldnt talk.. had throat cancer or something.. so they had one of those fog horns so his wife would know when he needed her..

well basically she told him, when you die, try and contact me.

a couple of days after he died, his wife was asleep and the foghorn on the bedside table, and it went off..

Yeah my bros friends grandma died and before she died she told him she would contact him after she died and his lights flickered on and off and his phone rang and his dad said his grandma had just died...also when I was a baby my mom said I woke up out of a sound sleep at like 1 in the morning crying (i was a sound sleeper and never cried when I was little) and the next day my grandpa called and said my great grandfather died around 1 in the morning...my great grandpa had told my mom that he would see me before I died (he hadnt yet)...

Sure do.

I used to live in an older house, that was somewhat trashy. I had moved in a few weeks ago when I was looking around in the attic and noticed a fucking freaky looking hand print on the OUTSIDE of the window. Yes, on the outside. Keep in mind that there was a screen on the outside part of the window, so it wasn't just someone on a ladder that pressed their hand on it. The hand print didn't even look normal. It looked almost identical to what a skeletons would, in fact. Go ahead, call me crazy.

Also, in the attic, I sat down in this really really really old chair, a very eerie and chilled feeling went over my entire body and it felt like somebody was sitting under me, then wrapped their arms around me. Naturally, I flipped and jumped out of the chair ASAP and left the fucking attic. One time, at about 5 AM when it was still dark, I heard footsteps on my attic stairs and everyone was sleeping except me and my brother who BOTH heard them.

And again, I woke up one time at about 3-4 AM, and a orb-like shadow was "crawling" very fast around the roof and walls. I've never been more scared in my life. I screamed at my brother to turn the lights on, when he did there was nothing. Let's just say I didn't sleep too well that night.

Now, you might just say it's all my imagination and shit, but I think not. I would wake up in the morning and find rows of 3 scratches on my stomach, and a perfect incision-like cut going down the middle of each of my thumbs. This happened more than once. Since when does your imagination do that?!?!

Also, about dreams... I once had a pointless dream that showed a guy walking down the road wearing a distinctive t-shirt (it was of a band I liked) ... Later that day, I was on my way home when I saw the exact guy wearing the exact shirt walking down a street just as it looked in my dream. The whole picture was pretty much identical to what it was in my dream.

this doesnt have anything to do with ghosts, but more of the dreams where you see something in your dream, then see it in real life..

all the time, things happen, and i could swear i've seen it happen before in a dream or something.

Ok, like not ghost related but like Draco I had a weird dream. I dreamt that I was near a freeway and I saw a snow-mobile fall on this man. I really couldn't get a view of the man but I remembered what he was wearing. There was all these people near him and an ambulance. I heard them mention that the man's arm was so severly broken. Then I woke up. The next day at school I saw one of my male teachers in an arm cast. I asked him if he was in a snow-mobile accident. He said "Yes." Then I asked him about his location and what he was wearing. He was the man in my dream who got hurt. It was just so weird. I knew everything about that night when he broke his arm (clothes, location, people around, etc.) The weirdest dream.

I did have another dream sort similar. I dreamt that this elderly woman died. I didn't know who she was but I knew her last name. The next day at school, this girl in one of my classes was crying. Her last name was the same as the woman in my dream. I asked if her grandmother passed away. She said yes. So weird.

The house I live in right now is haunted. i was in my brothers room, and we saw a woman and her child come through the wall, then go right through his door. and I swear, ever so often, thing start levitating and flying in my room.

i think it'd be cool to actually get to talk to a ghost.. but with my luck, if i ever saw a ghost, it'd be one of those evil ass ghosts that just wants to scare the shit out of everybody

Oh man, check this out:
It was January 23rd of 2001. My wife was six months pregnant at the time, and she and I were starting to stay home more often as her belly grew in size. Bedtime began to be a challenge, as Rachel (my significant other), was having trouble sleeping on our brand new queen-sized bed. The living room couch became her new sleeping location, as she was somehow able to get comfortable by sleeping on her side toward the cushions. I made a bed out of comforters between the couch and the loveseat, with the armoire at my feet. It was pretty much laid out like an equilateral triangle, with points A, B, & C as the armoire, couch, and loveseat, respectively. Not surprisingly, my comforter bed was situated in the center of all this. I seem to remember Rach falling asleep around 11 pm, but I stayed awake playing FF8. The game was awesome, and I had decided to pick up FF7 the upcoming day after work (I was supposed to go to my linear algebra and digital logic classes after work, but I was flunking them anyway). I stayed up until about 1:45 am, and decided to finally hit the sack. For some odd reason, I fell asleep on the ground next to the loveseat, which was a good 5-6 feet from the couch my wife was on. A little while after conking out, I suddenly woke up very tense and alert. I took a quick glance at the wife, and she looked okay as she slept facing the couch cushions For a split second I layed there wondering what the f*** was going on, and then it happened. Out of nowhere, I got this overwhelming feeling of complete dread. I quickly turned around toward the rest of the house (the kitchen, bathroom, foyer -- opposite the side Rachel was), but as soon as I turned, I got the feeling something was coming toward me FAST. In a split second, I was engulfed by what I can only call a "malevolent force." Sounds like a really dramatic/hokey name for it, I know; however, it truly felt as though the darkness itself had jumped on top of me and was right in my face. I was paralyzed with fear, and I couldn't move my limbs. Whatever was on me was pressing down HARD. This loud, buzzing sound shrieked through my ears, and all I could see were pulsating colors. It was kind of like when you look at the sun for too long, the weird pattern of color you see, but at the same time I couldn't see a thing. The pulsating sounds got louder and faster, causing me to really freak out. The worst part of it was the friggin vibe this thing was pounding into me. I felt as though it was literally trying to kill my ass, right there in front of my wife and unborn son. Although I couldn't move my limbs or get up at all, I was able to look toward Rachel. I could see her sleeping there on the couch, with her face toward the rear cushions and completely oblivious to what was happening to me. I tried to call out to her, but my mouth could neither move nor make any sound. It was as though the thing would only let me move enough to look at Rachel in despair, and nothing else. I'm telling you, truly friggin evil. After what seemed like an eternity, this attack finally subsided. I was left just laying there terrified, trying to contemplate what just happened. Was it a nightmare? I looked at Rachel. She was laying in the exact same spot/position as when I looked at her during the encounter!!! It wasn't a damned dream. I moved over to my wife and checked her out to make sure she was okay. She was sound asleep, and I was just glad the thing had messed with me instead of her and my little boy. the time on the clock was 3:17 am. I don't think I fell asleep for another couple of hours, as I was really freaked out. When I woke up the next morning, it was the first thing I thought about. I told Rachel nothing of the previous night. Luckily, she and I left for the work at the same time so neither one of us was in the house alone. For the rest of the day, it was all I could think about. After work, I picked up a MINT copy of FF7 from EBGames for like twelve bucks. Turns out, an employee there who was a fanatic about keeping his games in mint shape had traded his in earlier that day. It helped me a lot that day, and took my mind away for a while. Unfortunately, I would have to get home eventually. I got there around 6 in the evening, about a half hour before my spouse. I went up the driveway, and unlocked the door. I cautiously walked in and opened every door and turned on all of the lights. I ran out to the porch and waited patiently for Rachel to get home, reading the FF7 manual the whole time. When she got home, she looked at me like I was crazy for opening the doors, etc. I spilled my beans about what happened, and my wife hugged me and said how sorry she was. Luckily, she wasn't scared at all, and she walked right into the house and relaxed after a hard day's work. Man, I felt weak, being scared of something I couldn't even punch. It took me a few days to get remotely comfortable in the house again; however, as soon as both my layoff and wife's due date got close, the memories of the encounter got lost in the madness of the life altering events. I moved out of that house the following December, and I'll never step foot in the house again. I haven't had anything else happen to me since then, though I still get kinda freaked out when I'm in any house alone. Sorry for the long details, but when I think of it I make sure that I remember every thing that happened so that I don't ever forget what happened and become complacent about stuff like this. So to some of the posters who said it would be cool to have a ghost experience be warned: some ghost might make you its bitch.

like i said, i think it'd be cool to talk to a ghost, if it wasnt one of those crazy ass ones that tries to scare or hurt u..

i saw that porno. I was downloading by accdient (honest RIAA) when i was trying to get the paris hilton tape it was called moon rapers or something it was great and some aliens wore CAG shrits.

god bless them

When I was a little kid and trying to get to sleep(takes me a long time) I used to see outlines of people walking, it wasnt smooth motion or in any way clear but just clear enough to see it was an outline of people, it was never creepy though. Thinking back on that now its pretty creepy though.

i just remembered this...

one time i was trying to fall asleep, so i was laying on my side. i had my eyes open, and the edge of my bed was probably about 3 inches away from my face. I thought i saw a person raise their head up, like he was hiding down beside my bed, and stuck his head up.

scared the hell out of me.. i yelled and my dad ended up coming in my room and turning on the light and i saw there was nothing there...

i know it was more than likely just my eyes playing tricks on me, but the post above made me think of it.

also on the note of weird recurring dreams...

everytime i stayed the night at my grandparents house when i was little, i would have this really weird dream. It'd be pitch black, and i could see nothing (in the dream). Then i'd hear a bunch of voices screaming like they were in pain.. but the voices faded in and out in a weird way, like they were moving in a circle... like they'd get farther away then start getting closer, then start moving away...

then i'd finally wake up and it would be morning time.. everytime i stayed at their house.

the first few times this happened, it scared the crap out of me, but it happened so many times, that eventually when i would have this dream, right when it started i was fully aware that i was asleep, and i would actually be thinking "man this dream needs hurry up and be done so i can go watch cartoons" ... since everytime the dream ended, it was morning and i would get up and watch cartoons..
