Do you play your 360 without Xbox Live?

I hit up Live only when I'm through with the single player mode. With the amount of good games coming out these days, I tend to move to the next game. Wish I could get back to playing COD4 though, but I know once I put that disc in the drive, I will be sucked into it for a long time.

I have a silver account, I usually just finish the single player mode and move on to another game. (I have way to many from the black friday and Speedy1961 info.)

I'm an older (34) professional, so I really don't want to hear 12 year olds spouting hate speech in my spare time, so I have not bother to pick up xbox live gold. I did finally order a year from the buy.com sale, so I guess I will see if it is as bad as I imagine.

Another factor is that I really don't really have any friends who play videogames, except one friend who just decided he wanted the bluray player and is choosing a ps3 instead of the xbox 360.

I never had high speed internet until about 2 years ago, so I never played online games on the PC platform either, as I found Quake 1 laggy on dialup back in the day.

My 360 is always connected to Live and I have a Gold membership thru November with three years worth of cards left over from the Vision Pack TRU clearance. However, I *rarely* play online at all. First, I dont play FPS games. In fact, the only first person perspective game I have played on the 360 is Portal and that's been in just the past week! (I *may* try TF2 as long as I have The Orange Box rented)

My biggest problem with multiplayer games, besides that they are mostly first-person games, is that I'm a cheap ass gamer, which meanes I dont buy many games when they first come out. And in a lot of games, the learning curve is so steep that if you dont get in early, you're screwed. I really dont need some pre-pubecent teen, whose testicles have not yet fully decended telling me how I'm some sort of fucking :censored: n00b. Thanks, I'll pass.

I've found that the most multiplayer that I've done has been on Pinball FX. Likely, when Feeding Frenzy comes out, I'll hop on Live and play others there. At least with those games, they are more "pick up and play" and I wont have to have memorized a complex map of weapon drops and spawn point to be competitive.

I would, however, like to play with some reasonable people once in a while, which is a big reason why I post on gaming boards. It just seems too often that the only game people are interested in (or that they post 'gaming nights' for) are FPS or sports games. So, I'll continue to wait till I find some things that interest me.
thanks for reading :)

fuck it...

What the hell are you guys getting more than PSN via XBL... I'm playing Burnout online right now.. I know some of you guys are playing right now... Using Burnout as an example... what more are you getting by playing on XBL rather than PSN?

To add... what's the difference between Call of Duty 4 on XBL and PSN.. same game, same online.. probably the same server except someone's paying for access. ...
How is this possible?
system links? offline multiplayer?

i like the idea of XBL i love racing games on live.. I don't like shooters that much.. but an occasional one is pretty good.

yes all the time now, I used to play online all the time, but now life is to busy with work and school and I'm too poor and don't really care about paying for gold again
