Do you regret?

Have you guys ever sold or got rid of your old games that you regret to this day? I was just wondering because i was looking at the trade forum and all the PS1 games reminded me of the worst thing i have done with selling games.

When i was in HS i was short on cash for one of the dances and at the time i had a PSX with about 30 games. Most of the games i had were what i considerd the best including MGS,most of the FF for psx, legend of legia original syphon filter crono cross, vagrant story, BOF3, RE1 RE2 etc. If it wasnt a sports game and was considerd one of the beter games for the system i probly owned it. Anyways long story short i sold the PSX and all 30 games to a used game place for around 120$.

I was just wondering if anyone else has ever done something like that before that they regret, or am i the only bonehead that did something that stupid?:bomb:

P.S I did get some action afterwords but it still wasnt worth it.

I've only sold a few of my gaming crap over the years. Back when the PS1 was releasing I dumped my Genesis/32X/Sega CD and about 15 games for $150 toward the PS1. I did later rebuy that system combo and 25 games for a mere $70 so in the end it was a net gain.

The only other thing I've sold is Panzer Dragoon Saga. I paid $30 for it and sold it for $230 and don't regret it at all. I never understood why the game had such a big following. IMO, it was an average game at best and its only real value comes from it being produced in limited numbers not because it was some masterpiece of gaming. I bought it, beat it a few days later, passed it along to a few friends who beat it and then it was tossed in a box for a few years until I found out it was actually worth something. It was on ebay the next day.

I kinda regret selling vagrant story. I was frustrated with it at the time, so I never really gave it a chance, and I sold it a week after I bought it. Now everyone keeps talking about what an incredible game it was, but its hard to find now. I'm sure I'll be able to pick it up somewhere though.

I sold a few of my DC and PS1 games and I regret doing both. I went back and re-bought everything though for pretty much what I originally sold them for or less.

What I really regret is wasting so much money on GC and PS2 games soon after getting those systems when I should have picked up more PS1 games (most of which are nearing ridiculous prices now).

The only one a really regret getting rid of was Vay for the Sega CD. Sega CD stuff is hard to find mint/complete. Other than that I can't think of anything. I'm actually selling down my PS2 RPG collection due to not having time to play RPGS. Haven't missed any that I have sold. Anything older than that though I am probably going to keep. The only exception is my SNES copies of Chrono Tigger and Final Fantasy III I might sell. I already have the PS One versions and I really don't need the SNES versions anymore.

I do regret selling my Genesis and the RPG collection I had to my friend. Damn, I had all the Phantasy Stars, all the Shining Forces, and several other great classic RPG games for that system. What's even worse is that about six months after I sold them to my friend, his house burned down and they all went up in flames.

And I really regret lending my Chrono Trigger to a friend. He disappeared and I never got my game back.

I regret selling my TurboDuo way back when, but only because they are now worth a lot it seems. I don't really miss any of the games I had (I never had that many.) I got rid of my Genesis too, but I don't really miss any of those games either. I wasn't into RPGs, so I didn't have any of those. We have the Sonic games in Sonic Mega Collection Plus (PS2), and that's better IMHO as you get freeze saves, plus you can play with a wireless controller. Sonic on the couch is better. :) In general, I'd much rather play those old school games in an emu with freeze saves, then to play on the original console and not have freeze saves.

I sold my turboduo, Chrono Trigger, Earthbound, Final Fantasy III, and my super nintendo and I regret every it all the time.

What do you call a guy who regrets getting ready for a date with a girl over pawning games that could have been worth $150 while it was worth $300 or something dollars?

The only game I've ever regretted selling was Lunar (PS1). However, I eventually re-bought it for about half of what I sold my original copy for.

The only time I have ever sold any of my games (aside from trading in some recent not too great 360 games) was back in 1998. I had to take my games to a pawnshop to get anything for them, and I sold Mortal Kombat II, Mortal Kombat III, Donkey Kong Country, Final Fight, Area 51 for the PSX and light gun to get money to pre-order Resident Evil 2. I re-bought all of them in the recent years. I get too attached to my games, and I can never let them go.

I did, however, trade in Tomb Raider Legend, Chrome Hounds, Dead or Alive 4, and Halo 3. I wish I would have kept DOA4, but other than that, I haven't gotten rid of any of my games.

Stuff I was retarded for selling... (and haven't reacquired)

Sega Saturn
Dungeons and Dragons Collection (JP)
Shining Force III (US)
Panzer Dragoon Saga (US)
Sonic Jam (US)
Guardian Heroes (US)

Super Nintendo
Secret of Mana
Super Metroid (thank god for the VC)

NES
Dragon Warrior IV
Final Fantasy

Playstation
Valkyrie Profile (got the PSP port, pain is eased somewhat)
Ogre Battle
Tactics Ogre
Raiden Project (US)

There are probably more but those (especially the Saturn games,

Nothing I regret selling, but I do regret not buying Panzer Dragoon Saga and other Saturn games when they were marked down to $19.99.

My friend regrets trading in Valkyrie Profile in order to purchase Castlevania Chronicles.

Shining Force 3 Saturn
Dragon Force Saturn

Chrono Trigger.

I think I sold most of these for like 10.00 each a long while back. I bought Shining Force from funcoland for 120.00 Bucks :( And Chrono Trigger from Funcoland for 79.99 :(

Wow, I didn't know Funcoland was gouging prices back then. I thought Gamestop was the originator of that. Then again, Gamestop eventually bought Funcoland...

YES! I regret selling every single game and system and accessory that I ever sold!

As a kid I always sold all of my games as soon as something newer came along. On the one hand, it was the only way I could afford to be a gamer, but on the other hand I wish I had done something, anything, to avoid selling my games back.

nothing. ive gotten over my feeble attempt at "collecting", which really meant taking up shelf space with games i did not play, nor have the time to play. my game catalog now is much much smaller and i still dont have time to play all the games, but at least they are games that i play when i have time.

I do regret taking five games in to EB to trade for Iron Phoenix instead of Splinter Cell Chaos Theory.......They weren't anything good and I don't even remember which ones they were but it still stings that I was that stupid.

i regret throwing away my earthbound big box.....still have the guide though :whistle2:/

i also was short on cash in HS and sold my 64 and about 35 games (incld. harvest moon, ogre battle, yoshi's story, etc etc.) all were completely mint and boxed, not a crease on them. im sure theyre at the bottom of some stack right now getting crushed or abused. blah.

no real big losses that ive sold, but i guess it was the fact of the matter.

i do, though, regret temporarily "trading" some of my nes games to my friends when i was a kid.

FATHER PLEASE LIBERATE ME FROM MY SINS! ! I've sold every console i've owned in the past...NES...SNES....GENESIS...N64...DREAMCAST noooo, etc... the list goes on and on.. *Bangs head on table* why?!... But oh well, recently i have been purchasing those systems back again so no prob.

Message of this lesson: Think before trading/selling.

I've never regretted getting rid of something but I do regret not buying something. I regret passing up buying Harvest Moon for the SNES not once, not twice but THREE times.
