Did you buy it new? If so, hopefully you kept the receipt or paid with a credit card so the store you got it from can print up a copy of the receipt.
Why, you might ask? Well, this gen Sony has decided that you NEED to give them a copy of the receipt showing where you bought the PS3 and for how much to get in-warranty service. Without the receipt, you're looking at paying $150 PLUS the cost of shipping it to them.
WITH the receipt though, they'll ship you a prepaid box to ship it back to them in. You can request the box from Sony's website or call their customer service line at 1-800-345-SONY(7669).

Actually, the one website is selling the full drive for $130 or so I think and just the BR lens for $70 or so. But just like the PS2's last gen, you have to make sure you're getting the right lens for your system, as there are several variations.
