Hehe, Griz is still hanging strong in Texas. I'm getting ready to leave for school in 1 hour though. Then I actually leave at 6am...so I can get to school at 7...so I can sit there for an hour and wait for 8. I do that just to beat traffic, if I left and 7 I wouldn't be able to make it to school on time. So I'm hoping this deal starts soon cause I won't be back until like 5pm. :(

i'd be willin got bet they saw how much traffic the site got, and so many people sent emails for confirmation, that they decided they wouldnt be able to take the hit and canceled the sale.
 
well, i think i'm turning in. i don't have anything to do tomorrow, but i'm getting bored waiting. man, the length we cheapasses go to to save a couple of bucks....anyhow, goodnight all, and good luck tomorrow.
 
In that case I would be very angry and would feel very stupid right now. I would ask buy.com for the last 3 hours of my life back.
 
Haha, I don't think you really need a phone to tell you the 3-hour difference...unless it's just so early in the morning that you need the assistance. :p And yeah, the free shipping status had already changed for practically all EA games a couple hours back. Nothing else has changed since, unfortunately. I think I'm about ready to head for bed unless I get over the hump around 3:30 a.m.

Who knows...I just checked about 6 other sales/deals sites and all of their listings for this deal simply link to the Games page at Buy.com. No differences in any prices. It doesn't seem as though a coupon code is required if all the affiliates are linking this way. I guess it's just a failure to update on the part of Buy.com. Oh well, I'm still going to stay up here so I can try to get something before the hoarders come raiding...

I was sick like a dog last night and went to sleep thinking...MAN I'm gonna miss the deal of the year. James Bond for $25!!!! Sign me up.
I wake up today in the east coast at 6:30...feeling good to go to work. But after careful pondering, i'm probably going to miss work a) cuz everybody expects me too. But more because of b) this deal is too sweet. Now staying home, refreshing Buy.com every other minute.
You know that there is somebody out there that just needs to gets his ass out of bed, go to work, and press the update button in his computer. And not give 2 cents about this deal. While us CAG wait and wait all night long to no avail. Big applause to everyone who tried to break night for this.

I don't know if we should be calling Melissa a "biatch" unless she's one of the people directly responsible for updating the website, in which case I would hold her to her promise of updating at midnight. But I'd assume that she's a rep to the affiliates, so she has no control over maintenance of the site. In that case, she's actually the smart one who knows which midnight belongs to the 9th and she should be maintaining the site! :lol:

Well, this about does it for me after almost 6 hours past my bedtime. I still need an hour or two sleep to get me by through the next day (which is technically already here). I'm actually still recovering from the flu, so I really shouldn't have done this. Since the sale never went up, I really shouldn't have done this. When I come back, I hope to find the sale in effect and that there are still available copies of the GCN versions of 007: Everything or Nothing and LOTR: Return of the King, and the PS2 versions of SSX 3, Tiger Woods 2004, and Freedom Fighters. *crosses fingers*

i thought it was for EA preorder only? SSX3 and LOTR are out. 007, mvp '04 and such were the games to be on sale, or so I thought?

I'm not sure if this has been posted, but the Need for Speed Underground for the PS2 is coming up $44.99. Not part of the deal. :(
But x-box and gamecube is still at 49.99
 
ah now it all makes sense, the sale will probably exclude pre orders and most of the good games will get marked down to $44.95.... typical
