I'm looking for ff7 for ps1, all the discs(I think there were 2 or 3, lol). If anyone has this, I'd love to buy it, not overpriced though /=

I have a copy, but I sure as hell wouldn't sell it. Even though I got it soon after release and have only played it for about a total of 2 1/2 hours. And honestly if thats the case, it sounds like you want to score a cheap copy and then flip it for money...thats generally not looked too highly upon here...

I didn't even know it was released for PC. I knew that FF8 was. Even played the demo for it from some disc. I'm sure the PC version of FF7 goes for far mroe than the PSX one...

No, I don't want to flip it for money. I regret selling that one even though I really liked it, but I really needed money.

The highest, most recent completed listing was for $71.47...

But, most go for between $40 and $50. That isn't too bad compared to the PSX version.

I saw it at a flea market for $15 YEARS ago and I would love to play that game with crisper, cleaner graphics.

560 dollars ... T_T

Wish I had the whole set - all I have is the original FF7 (scratched up like crazy) without case/manual.

I had two copies of the pc version. They were only disc only, though I did get them at garage sales for $1 and $0.25. I just traded one of those for a cart only copy of Chrono Trigger. I thought that was a pretty good trade.

I do find it surprising how much it can go for.

It was one of the few games back then the I bought brand new. I tended to buy almost everything second hand from the flea market back then.

If someone offered 560 though I would sell it without a second thought.

I still have my original (Non-GH) copy of FF7 and the discs are in great condition. I know I could get some money but I'd rather have fun with the game.

I bought a non-GH complete mint off ebay last year for less than $15 and gave my sealed GH copy away to a friend for his birthday. Amazing what that thing's done since. I wish I had both now...

Yeah, I just sold an average used condition PC version for $51. I bought it at a pawn shop for $10.

I had NO friggin' idea the game was going for so much! I found a mint copy at a GameRush a while back that I traded on here, and gave the PC version away to a friend back in the day.

I have every PSone Final Fantasy game, mint condition -- including Anthology, Origins and Chronicles. The only one not original is my FF Tactics, which is Greatest Hits. I've beaten a very disappointing number of them, though.

I remember reading the reviews for the PC version when It came out and they trashed it. They said Square didnt upgrade the textures or graphics at all, and the game looked pixellated and blocky. They said there was no need for the PC version to exist, because when viewed on a good monitor, the graphics looked worse than they did on the PS1.

Try www.zunafish.com I traded Champions of Norrath for it. I guess the guy didn't know what he had...

yeah why is this game so expensive?
I understand the black label ebing worth $$$, but why is the GH going for so much?
Did they stop making this game? What is up with this?

Fanboys are getting crazy. I'm sure there are some guys that played in college and now have fat accounting or banking jobs on Wall St or wherever. They're driving the market for this game like they blew up the housing market. This game, whether we like it or not, has become the touchstone for our gaming generation. It's up there with Madden and GTA. People will continue to drop big bucks on Final Fantasy as long as the series comes out. FFIII and FFXII will blow up the sales charts this holiday season and fans might almost become rabid about what they consider the best FF of all time.

I guess I'm one of the few people who have not played FF7. I figured it would be no problem finding a well priced used copy, I just wanted to check it out even though I'm not a huge RPG gamer. I mean come on, it sold millions upon millions of copies, shouldn't be that hard. A about 8-12 monts ago I searched GS, nothing. EB, nothing. Best Buy, they have FF8 and FF9, but not 7. Local mom 'n pop stores, nothing. I take a look at Ebay and open copies of the GH version are going for $100, well fuck that. :D Not worth it to me.

Good luck finding a copy that won't break the bank man. :)

I have both the PC and PS1 versions of FF7. I don't think Square did the port, so whoever did the port had to work with whatever PS1-based materials they were provided. The PC version only had a few advantages over the PS1 version: the text was much sharper, grammatical and spelling errors were mostly fixed, and load times were better.

One aspect that was really changed was the music. The music is very distinct, running on whatever MIDI hardware the PS1 had. They couldn't duplicate this on the PC so it sounded very different. Good but not the same. Although with XG-MIDI enabled, it sounded much less synthesized than the PS1 did. Textures on the PC were smoothed, but the character models in the game used very little texturing and relied mostly on goraud shading. However, CG movie bits suffered from heavy artifacting, and regular CG backdrops also suffered from color reduction dithering.

Back in those days, games developed for television play never looked good on monitors due to the huge increase in resolution and the general performance superiority PC hardware had over consoles.

One of the reasons why people find disc only copies of FF7 PC is that it came in a really horrible looking cardboard sleeve that wasn't very shelf-friendly.

I think they stopped making most PS1 games a long time ago.
