Does anyone own a Zune?

PhantomaZero

CAGiversary!
I've been in the market for an MP3 player ever since my 20GB 4G iPod bit the bullet in 05. I have my eyes on the 16GB Zune and the podcast features sound like just the thing for me. But as bad of a taste Apple has left in my mouth, I'm still not fully sure if I should pass up a Nano instead.

So point me in a direction, CAG.

My 80gb Zune gets a work out everyday. It's loaded up with tons of pics and tunes, but I enjoy it most because of the easy updates to the audio and video podcasts I subscribed to. If I had to replace it today, I'd move up to the 120gb version. I even enjoy playing Sudoku on it! :D

I have a 30gb zune, and I love it. Used to have an Ipod touch, and while it was nice, it cost way too much and couldn't hold a lot of songs and video.
I have a 30GB zune and love it. I can't compare it to an ipod since I refuse to ever own an apple product.
Could've wrote that sentence myself. Agree 100%.

The Zune ok at best. I got it primarily for playing videos and the FM tuner, and because I got a 30GB model for $50 oop. The tuner works great. Playing videos works great.

Syncing the videos to the Zune? Not so great. For some insane reason, the Zune processes videos while they are put on to it. Syncing mp4 videos onto the device takes an ungodly amount of time and makes my C2D laptop sound like an industrial exhaust fan as a result.

I have a 120GB and am very happy with it. I have a Zune pass which lets me download any song on the Zune Marketplace for $15 per month. Plus I share that with my sister who also has a Zune. She can download songs at her house using my subscription. The service is like renting songs but you can also "keep" 10 songs a month, when you download them the 10 are high quality DRM free MP3s.

i have the original black 30gb zune its the one mp3 player ive had the longest that didnt crap out on me( all my previous ones were sansa mp3 players and every one died in one way or another). its a sturdy beast of a machine and worth owning.

I have a 1st generation 30 gig Zune and it does the job for me. I take it to the gym and do hard runs on the threadmill and it works great.

yes, there is a Zune thread...so we need a mod to merge this for us. I like my zune because it's not an apple product plus kinda overwhelming knowing that I have over 200 cd's on my 120gb and it's still not full :) The FM tuner is really nice as it picks up WTOP News, which I listen to a LOT and nice to have something in case i get bored.

The only downside..........most B&M electronic stores are Ipod accessory havens...so finding a nice speaker dock for it can be a pain in the ass. :(

I don't trust 3rd party FM transmitters/chargers, but I am not gonna pay 50+ for them either.

I own a 80GB zune and it's ok, but the syncing software Microsoft provides is horrible.

Pure style over substance. The zune itself is good stuff but the software is lacking. I have never owned an iPod but I've heard similar complaints.

Sometimes I wonder what will happen to Apple if Steve Jobs leaves the company; Microsoft has been kinda on a downswing since Gates left. The Ipod can't be popular forever you know..

I had the original PC IPod, then got a new IPod in 06, then got the 30GB Zune last Jan. and upgraded to the Gears of War 120GB Zune at Christmas. Great machine. There's a huge thread in the 360 forum if you need Zune help/advice.

I have a Zune and its great. I much prefer it over the iPods i've owned in the past. Few minor problems with the software, syncing etc but nothing too major. I had to get mine for US though because its not sold here in the UK.

Around November - December 2008 the 30GB went on sale big time, because I think the new models were released. So my Uncle who lives in New York went down to JR Radio and picked me up one 30GB in Zune for $99!
