Doggies!!!
I never had a dog, but I enjoy looking at the pictures!

Unfortunately, my bird died this year. He was almost 11 years old and died the day before my 21st b-day (May 24th) :whistle2:(

In Memory:

This is my Rabbit, Blue. He's the pic in my avatar and is going to be 3 this year:

Do you guys keep the rabbit in the house?

Cute animals are my kryptonite and nothing weakens me more than cute baby animals. I think these are the cutest dogs ever:

Yes, he's a house rabbit. He has free roam of my living room and is litterbox trained. :whistle2:D

So I'm gonna seek some advice; as I mentioned, Johnny Cash is only 4 months old. He has already developed an intense fear of car trips (he fuckin' flips when he sees me preparing his travel crate). He has a tendency (40% of the time, give or take) to get very very carsick when traveling short distances (~30 minutes).

How can I calm him down or train him to not be scared? To not be sick? I'm considering taking him on short (~10 minute) trips several times a week, and I'm hoping that worked for some people. Are there other techniques you can recommend?

myke.
...danke schoen.

When my pitbull/boxer mix was younger (never had her as a pup, we guess she was around a year when I found her) she HATED car rides and you could not drag into a car. If you did manage to get her in she would always throw up all her kibble within 10 minutes of being in there.

However, now she's (roughly) 6-years-old and loves car rides. All I have to do is open my door and say, "Come on Anne..let's go for a ride" and in she'll go.

Maybe you're dog will grow out of it like Annie did :)

Everyone has such beautiful pets!!

I dont have a clue as to what breed Charlie is though :(
Seriously jay... give me that fuckin dog...
No fucking way! The cute one stays. My friend's got a nice pug you might want. THe little fucker's face just makes me vomit. :puke:
that still doesn't explain why my dog can beat your dog's ass
What is this unjustified attack against my dog?
Yes, he's a house rabbit. He has free roam of my living room and is litterbox trained. :whistle2:D
Our rabbit is the exact same way. I think most domestic rabbits are litterbox trained. They like to shit in corners and once you figure out their favorite corner it's just as simple as putting a litter box there. They learn quite quickly after that.

my sister once had a floppy eared rabbit that was smart as hell.

I think the coolest thing it would do was if someone was laying on their belly with their feet in the air (on the floor, of course) watching tv or something the rabbit would come right up next to them and do the same exact thing. It's little feet up in the air was the cutest thing ever.

However my sister is a dumb bitch and decided to let the bunny go "get some fresh air" and she never saw it again :|

Awesome! A relative of mine is studying design in NY, and she claims that Bostons are one of the more popular dogs at the moment. Granted, where we live they aren't too popular, so it might be a simple case of relativism. What do you think?

Man, I thought 20 pounds at 4 months was huge; glad to see I'm not alone!

myke.
...EDIT b/c the pics are right there, I don't need to copy 'em.

My grandparents have a border collie that I want so bad. He has a brown eye and a blue eye. His fur is brown, black and blue. Not blue, but more blue. They got it when it was just a few weeks old and it is one of the smartest dogs I've evern seen. They never gave him any training but he listens to everything you tell him the first time.

Im sorry, but being the proud owner of a Rhodesian Ridgeback...I can safely say that I have the biggest asskicker on CAG

I see two dogs and you on a couch. One dog's hiding or sleeping; the other looks guilty; you're passed out.

I'll let someone like sblymnlcrmnyl (yikes, sp?) take care of the rest of the story.

Holy fuck is that a big ass dog! Is it capable of truning around within the confines of a house?

I love Rhodesian Ridgebacks. You know you have a serious dog when it's other name is African Lionhound. Any dog that they used to use to hunt lions has to be hardcore.

Here's my corgie-for-a-day, Ein. Had to give him back due to allergies. That day sucked.

Way to go, Hazuki. You posted cats in the dog thread. Brilliant.

If I didn't have this pomeranian, I think my next kryptonite would be a baby corgie. Their stubby legs and perky ears give them this cute 'curious' look.

That Corgie reminds me of when I was younger and I went into a bookshop with my parents.

There was a corgie sitting on the floor that was just sitting dead still and looking straight ahead..it was so still that I thought it was a stuffed dog toy (I was like 6 at the time). Well, I kept walking up to the "toy" and looking at it, finally the woman behind the counter said, "I'm sure Nick would rather you scratch his ears rather then walk around him" and when she said his name he jerked his head around...and I must say that Corgies (or maybe just that one) are very sweet dogs.

I've always wondered though, is it in a corgie's nature to sit so still or was that one just a good dog?

Corgies are fairly good natured (at least the ones I've seen) so it would surprise me if it was quiet. It could also be a sign of rigid training. I wish my pomeranian was as quiet. Poms are the cutest lil things around and they're energetic but, being a small dog, like ALL small dogs, tend to be yapping all the freakin' time.

Tell me about it, my little dog LOVES to bark, and then that gets my big dog going...its especially bad if, *gasp* godforbid, someone walks by our house.

My first pom is so cute. If you clap your fingers infront of him (think duck) he'll start to roll his head and open his mouth making this funny growl.

I seriously want to get another pom. Not because I'm sick of the one I got but cuz they're so DAMN cute I want to collect them all pokemon-style.
Trust what kind of dog is that?
technically, I'm not positive...the lady that gave us the dog couldn't keep it because she already had way too many dogs, but she was a dog person and was always somehow getting her hands on rare breeds....she told us that Rocky is 3 parts wolf and one part German Shepherd....so when taking him to the vet, we of course have to say that he's a German Shepherd and Husky or something....all i know is that Rocky is the nicest, goofiest, yet strongest dog that I've ever come across...

My Chihuahua does a similar thing. If I do that "duck hand clapping" motion, or if I rub my fingers together (by putting two of them next to each other similar to when you break a finger and you put them in a splint with a "buddy"), she turns her head to the side and opens her mouths and growls, sometimes playfully chewing my fingers.

Another thing, she hates my feet for some reason. Doesn't matter if they have socks on them or not, if my feet or toes get near her, she bites them without mercy. :)

I love Corgies, too. That is one of my choices for our next dog, I'm either going to get a Bloodhound or a Corgi.
