New Japanese magazine scans bring us news of Dragon Quest IV, V, and VI being remade for DS. I will buy all three.

One of the rumors in the latest EGM is that DQIV will be the next Squeenix game to be remade for the DS. As much as I love the old Final Fantasy, I'm more excited about this as I never got around to playing much of the old DQ games.
 
YES!! DQIV is one of my all-time favorite RPGs. I would buy this game first day on the street for full price. Gimmie gimmie gimmie!
 
I have fallen out of love with RPG's as I just don't play them much anymore but I really like the Dragon Warrior\ Quest stuff so I'd be up for this. I'm looking foward to 9 as well.

Same here. If I only had $30 to my name, I'd totally choose this over FFIV: Remake. I am especially pumped because I've always wanted to try the SNES versions of Dragon Quest. I just hope it won't be 3D and will instead have higher resolution 2D sprites.
 
Since my NES cart erased my data countless times, I never got to the end of this, one of my favorite games. I was greatly anticipating the PS1 port until it got cancelled. So suffice to say I would buy this.
 
Awesome. DQ4 is a phenomenal game. The chapter system made for a very well developed world and cast of characters.

If this is given the same treatment as FF3 then I will definitely pick this up for full price.


I'm still holding out for a FF6 remake though...
 
Alright Squenix, now announce the Chrono Trigger remake and bring the whole thing home. That was the first true Squenix game, it would only be fitting.

OMG, same sentiments here!!! Maybe a few bucks off first though :) I was hoping the GBA version was going to come out a few years back.

My favorite of the 4 NES DW games that came out easily. Played it twice through on cousin's NES cart, maybe twice on emulator too.
 
Super awesome news. Dragon Quest IV is one of the best, if not the best, RPG that was on the NES. Leagues beyond Final Fantasy.

Considering they've even brought Chocobo Dungeon games over, I'd say DQ remakes are just about gauranteed.
 
Oh so every man, woman and child owned a DS in Japan before? Now every rock, tree, squirrel and roll of sushi will own one.

Can't wait to see the sales numbers in Japan for these.

They didnt bring the Dragon Quest V remake on PS2
 
How many times can Nintendo win? Most people in Japan already have a DS so Nintendo can only win again if people decides to buy two.
 
With the Final Fantasy III remake doing so well, hopefully they will do even more DS remakes of their NES/SNES RPGs. Personally I'm hoping for Chrono Trigger.
 
Assuming i catch the pre-order in time when it's announced, i have a feeling the limited edition DQ4 DS that will no doubt be released will be my first import DS.

Hell yes, Chrono Trigger remake would be insanely cool.
 
DQ4 is my favorite RPG, ever. I was incredibly upset that the remake for the PSone didn't make it over here, so this is fantastic news!

I bet they'll see how well DQ: Joker and DQ:9 do here before releasing all 3 remakes stateside. In other words, everyone who's excited about this, support the other DQ titles!!!

Yeah they really should remake chrono trigger, that would be awesome, i'll buy that in a second.

Sweet - I'd definitely prefer these over the FF remakes. For the record, I haven't played any of the games in EITHER series except for FF III on the DS, and DQ VIII on the PS2. So in either case, these remakes are new to me. But from what I've seen so far I prefer the DQ world.

It is imperative you play FFX.

Even if it is just a glorified port, DQ4 is better than 90% of the RPG market right now.

:lol:. I've had it for a couple of years. It is still sitting here sealed. I need a new PS2 RPG game to play soon, and I was going to go with FF XII. Maybe I'll do FF X instead - though I feel like I should play my $60 FF XII SE before it is available for $5 everywhere :roll:.
 
famitsu.com is a good place to start for game sales in Japan.
If you can't read Japanese then the-magicbox.com usually will translate them with little lag.
