The dreamcast was a great system, and deserves its own thread.

What are your favorite games for the system?

I am a sports fan myself, still playing with NBA 2k1 and NFL 2k2. (Is NBA 2k2 Rare? I havent been able to find it anywhere except Gamestop online had it listed for like $40..)

What are some rare games?

Post about anything dreamcast here!

Power Stone 2 is a game that I will never stop playing. Ooga booga, SF rush 2049, Shenmue, Armada, Chu Chu Rocket, Worms World Party, and Virtua Tennis are great games as well.

Gamestop keeps new copies of old games priced highly. I like the NFL games. I love Sonic Adventure.. the first, not the second. I love the soundtrack to it, too. Both Power Stone games, obviously.. Shenmue.. the Shenmue 2 import.. and my custom NES rom disc :)

If you can find it online (since it was never released publicly), download and burn Half-Life for Dreamcast.. it plays great.

//edit: Virtua Tennis was great. I also played Super Runabout: San Fransisco Edition a toooooon, i'm about to buy it, I think.

What about Omnikron? I have heard a few good things about it, dunno what it's about or what it plays like though.

One step ahead of you, One of the first games I got with my system ;)

I thought it was pretty cool, but i easly got stuck, and the waiting tram thing in the begining was awful.

Did anyone else get a chance to play Record of Lodoss War? That was my first dreamcast games, and one of the first RPG's ive ever played. That game was awesome.

Omikron is like a poor man's Shenmue, and it's very, very, complicated.

Power Stone 2, and Project Justice are my favorite. After I find a place to resurface power stone 1 i will be playing that non-stop also. Great system.

I love Dreamcast when it comes to fighting games.I never get tired of playing them and even better if you have agetec arcade stick

Did anyone ever use the Web Browser?

I think i kinda missed out on that, I probably wont use it unless I can get my hands on a broadband adaptor..

How was it though?

Can I ask how to back up DC games? Is it easy to do?

Anyone know where I can get a Dreamcast Rumble pack.

Also if possible a cheat device. One of my memory cards is lost and I am seriously annoyed at the friend I lent it too who lost it.

I used it a bit. It was really handy for downloading game saves. ;)

I wouldn't want to use it exclusively, but it was novel at the time. I'm guessing that the keyboard made it better, but the extreme low-res of the TV screen meant most pages rendered poorly, even 6 years ago.

I cut down my collection and axed a lot of Dreamcast games (mostly those that had superior ports to other systems like SFA 3)... anyway, I only have 7 games and those are my absolute favorites: Grandia II (finally got this one), Jet Grind Radio, Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 (better than XBox or PS2 version), Project Justice, Shenmue, Shenmue II (yes, it's superior to the Xbox version), and Soul Calibur... all of those games are absolutely phenomenal and they will not be leaving my collection.

It's kinda a pain in the ass... the best way to do it requires a broadband adapter and you need to download some software to rip the disc to your hard drive... I need to do that sometime since I wanna start using an emulator for my DC games so I can play them on my laptop.

Segagaga is a great Dreamcast title and, as far as I know, the only one about the video game industry.

You work for Sega, which in the future, has only 5% market share with the rest of the market controlled by the evil DOGMA (Sony) corporation. It's an RPG where you go hunting for talented developers, negotiate their salaries, and manage your company so you could restore Sega to its former glory.

They could've made it better by letting you fight in giant robots powered by Dreamcasts.

Mine seemed to lock up a lot while surfing. When it wasn't doing that it was pretty decent though. It was like similar to WebTV (which was the first way I was introduced to the net).

My favorite games are the fighters. I own Capcom vs. SNK, Marvel vs. Capcom 2, Plasma Sword, Project Justice, and Soul Calibur. Project Justice is my favorite of the bunch. The storylines are entertaining and the action is insane. I also own Shenmue and enjoy it a great deal. The game I played the most though was Quake III Arena. It was the first time I seriously played any games on the internet. I tried Diablo on the PC but kept getting killed by idiots so I gave up. Quake III is the reason I use the username I have now.

JPN only? And if so, you need to know the language?

Was there an ending where you slide into mediocrity and whore out your number one mascot to an unending stream of crappy games?

I miss the glory days of Sega. Can Nintendo just aquire them and maybe get their spark back? I see a clear sign that it's still there in Sonic Rush, but man, that's about it. :(

Ahh, the good old days of trying to look up porn on the DC browser...

Yeah, you need to know the language to understand the storyline. The game's playable if you don't care about the storyline, and the guides on GameFAQs help a lot. There's also a few translation guides there, but they don't get very far.

Download an image someone already compiled of Nester and a few thousand roms.

SNES emulation isn't good at this point. There aren't a lot of games that run full-speed, and sound performance is also an issue.

Ahhh, time to dust off the Dreamcast. I'm partial to the fighters. I've got Soul Calibur, Marvel vs Capcom 2, KOF: Dream Match, and Capcom vs SNK 2. My daughter and I also like to play Chu Chu Rocket and Samba De Amigo.
