DS Lite Colors Confirmed
Daroga, you know better than that. A trade-in is obviously not buying a new version.
O RLY?!

Seriously, though, I just figured it was implied in the context that people were trading in their older DSs to get the new model. I'm pretty sure that's what we were getting at earlier in the thread. If not, I apologize.

I just realized the buttons and d-pad are the same colors as the case. It's about time. Damn them for making this even more tempting.
So everyone thinks North America will get these same colors?
We're really not too sure at this point. Nintendo could release all three of these colors, three different colors, or just plain white. :hot:

Yeah, the changes to the buttons are the second biggest factor in my getting one of these (the first being the brighter, better screens). I'm most looking forward to having a bit more action on the buttons... hope there's not a renewed learning curve with turbo boosting in Mario Kart. ;)

All in all, I was fine with the original DS... but you can bet I'm preordering one of these from Japan. I got used to the things I didn't like about the original DS... they've fixed all of those on the Lite.

Well, to be honest I was hoping to see a black one. While they could still theoretically release a black one in the US, I think its very, very unlikely...

This almost makes me happy, because im more tempted to keep my silver DS...good...I was about to spend a lot of money to get a lite...

Noooooooooooooooo! Now I have to get one. Have to wait to see what colors we get here or I might import.

I guess I may have to part with my Mario Kart Red DS.
I think its really cool how everything matches (the buttons, stylus, and the whole unit) its one of the reasons I wanted either a pure white or a graphite black.
I didnt see that on the link provided, I found the white one only. Do they show the other ones opened yet?

I didn't expect multiple colors at first...very cool. I hope that happens here as well. I like all the colors.....but really the colors I *absolutely* love are the apple green and candy apple red looking colors they showed off as possible Revolution colors early on. I LOVE both those colors (and maybe a sleek tangerine) and would love to get both a DS Lite and Revolution that match!

If these are the colors we get Stateside, I'm going to have to decide whether to give in to my excitement, or wait to see if we get revolution-matching colors come Christmas-time.......

Sigh!

MOST IMPORTANTLY: Are the A, B, X, and Y buttons on the DS Lite any BIGGER? Because that would be splendid...most splendid indeed.

Wow... those colors are great! I'm actually glad Nintendo goes with the non-typical colors ....though it's possible those 3 are Japan exclusive ( ??). 'Guess we'll see. Personally, after seeing these pics, i'm much more interested in a navy DS than a black one.

This pic from play-asia answers the question about where the stylus and power button.

This might be an overlooked issue, but there might be the problem with hand cramps with this new DS Lite

I didn't think about it at first, but I get mild hand cramps playing Mario Kart DS and AC:WW on just the normal DS. I really hope the smaller pocket size of Lite doesn't exacerbate the hand-cramp issue.

I can't believe they did two shades of blue o_O
I know blue is a popular color but geez one shade is enough to launch with.
Oh well I guess I'll be waiting for a royal purple for awhile longer.
I like the matching styluses, though.

It sucks that there's no black, I was really excited for a new DS this spring. I'm not too crazy about the GBA carts sticking out either, but I'll still buy a black one whenever they're released.

Are there any physical specs floating around? I pre-ordered one and am wondering how close to size/dimesions are the DS lite buttons to the micro buttons.

I've just got a say that I love this redesign of the DS even though I see nothing wrong with the current model. I love how everything matches between them. And the colors are just so nice. I maybe have to buy another just for color. But I really really want my fucking orange one Nintendo. When oh when will it come?
Too bad the GBA cartridges will stick out a cm. Thats pretty ugly imo...aside from that it does like nicer.
I have to agree. I was going to get the Lite as soon as it get came out, but I might just wait until I can get my hands on a display model before I make my final decision.

Ok these things look lovely, i'm tempted to try to sell my Mario Kart DS that i just freakin got a few months ago and get the white one of these. I like the new design alot more than the normal DS it's alot more pocket friendly and sleek.

They have a ton of pics @ lik-sang I didn't see these posted in the thread yet. http://www.lik-sang.com/news.php?artc=3794

Q: Anyone know when this will come out in the states and is the $169 price tag going to stick when it comes out here? That $169 + shipping is the only thing keeping me from trying to trade up...

Q2: All these DSs are region free straight out of the box? I'm pretty sure they are but ya know it never hurt anyone to look stupid.... ;)

I'd like to see a shade of green myself. And I hope the x y a b buttons are 'fixed.' It just feels slightly odd pressing them.
