For the record, I really don't give a damn about the Lite. I think the thing looks like shit and I'm not really that interested. But I DO feel for those who are upset about it. Unlike what seems to be most people on here, I'm compassionate towards the feelings of others, and am able to put myself in their shoes.
Seems that everyone else has a "I'm okay with it, so F everyone else" attitude. Nice.
Now, Strell... i'm gonna be honest, arguing with you has lost my interest so i only read about half of your post. I thought, from prior PM conversations, that you were a decent guy. I also thought the conversation ended, hence the no response. I'll respond now if you're that desperate for a friend. In fact, looking back at your PM, you ARE decent. Why the "i'm so bad, isn't it cool?" show when everyone else can read?
But regardless... you're clearly, from all my experience with you, the kind of person who can't accept the opinion of others. much like my wife, you just want to hear that you're right and i'm wrong. and, since in the end, this whole topic isn't that important... i'll let you have it...
Nah, Strell's not mean, not everyone here has a "F the world" attitude.....you're just overreacting.
The redesign is harmless. I can see being upset if you recently purchased it, but only to an extent.
You know how many times I have bought a DVD, only to see a special edition announced in the next week? I realize DVDs cost substantially less, but if you added up all the times it has happened to me, it would probably equal the cost of a DS.
Its been said before, the redesign was not made for the current owners, its made for those still on the fence....basically the people who haven't even heard this announcement yet. If Nintendo can thus make additional profits off of people who already currently own a DS, thats just gravy. As we all know, software is where the money is. I garauntee a NEW DS owner is more valuable to Nintendo than an OLD DS owner that just upgrading. The OLD DS owner will still buy the same games that he/she has planned on buying. If someone buys the Lite because they like the new style, they will now become a potential buyer of the software that would have otherwise sat unsold. That's what Nintendo wants. They are not doing this to rub it in the current customer's faces.
I own the original, and I for one am thrilled about a new design. I still haven't decided if I will buy one, as I will wait for some opinions first (and perhaps a bundle deal), but I look forward to its release nonetheless.
