BestBuy.com has a $5 digital coupon offer on 3rd rock (they send you the coupon code to use on a future .com order). Their current price is $27.99, but if they release it for less, you get charged the lower price. The real kicker, and the reason I ordered from BB instead of waiting for another DDD sale, however, is the BB exclusive bonus disc with 13 minutes of extended bloopers and "Dick's Best Outtakes." Must be ordered by 7/23 to get the digital coupon, and the bonus disc is "while supplies last."

Also, BB is still running the free shipping on CD/DVD orders over $25 (through July 23) discussed in this thread: http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=59228

Dawn of the Dead & Shaun of the Dead 2-Pack

Seems pretty good...
http://www.deepdiscountdvd.com/dvd.cfm?itemID=MCA027230

$19.20 shipped free at DDD. Which is a better deal depends upon one's tax rate. Of course, DDD is the clear winner during their 20% sale, but that would require quite a bit of waiting.

Glad I picked it up for $15 from K-mart when the 2-pack first came out.
Is the American Psycho for $10 at Target the SE one?
I'd also like to know.

The Jerk (assuming that's the new edition) is a great deal, as well as the latest Ren & Stimpy.
American Psycho should be the SE "Killer Collector's Edition" because the previous one is now out of print.
Sweet... if this gets verified, it shall be mine. :)
American Psycho should be the SE "Killer Collector's Edition" because the previous one is now out of print.
I thought the same thing at first, but according to dvdaficionado, the rated Lion's Gate release is not OOP (but both Universal Studios releases are).
Damn $15 is a great price for two movies.
I was pleased, although the DDD 20% off sale would still have been cheaper due to tax being charged on the $15. Still haven't watched Dawn yet, but Shaun was fun. There were some other 2-packs released at the same time that K-mart also had for $15. One had Van Helsing and something else (I don't recall), and another was Pitch Black/Riddick. I don't think I bought the Van Helsing one, but I got the Riddick one, and I haven't watched either of those dvds (I saw Riddick in the theater, I've never seen Pitch Black). There was a fourth 2-pack, but I don't remember what it was at all.

Amazon is usually good about these things and they only have the newly released unrated version on their site. Target.com has the new version available for shipment within 24 hours, and the old one available for shipment in 4-8 weeks. I'm almost 100% sure this will be the Killer Collector's Edition.

I would expect it to be the Killer edition as well, but the listing of the old version at dvdaficionado made me less than 100% sure (probably about 80%).

About freakin time both "Mortal Kombat" films are $6.99... too bad they aren't enhanced for Widescreen TVs but what the hell. I might grab them. Thanks TSD.

(PS - I know the sequal sucks but then again... I need a good laugh)

thanks for the ads.

if American Psycho is the new edition, I will definetly pick it up.

if that and Stripes are the special editions, maybe more of the new editions will be in that sale (i.e. Robots, Gone in 60 Seconds, etc)

Anyone know whats going to be on that "bonus on pack" dvd with Battlestar Gallactica S1?

Looks like not only is this disc a BB exclusive, its actually set for a Double Dip! A new trend? Now TV is double dipping?!?!

The BB set is 4 discs (without the bonus) while the Offiial US version coming out in late september is 5 discs because it includes the miniseries and feature commentary that doesnt look to be available on the BB release. I myself am going to wait. ESPECIALLY since the 49.99 is the SRP.

Holy Toledo! Amazing prices on those - All except MTM are even cheaper than 20% off currently listed DDD prices*. I will definitely pick up Remington Steele, I'll think about Brady and Gilligan, but I will probably pass, since I have spent so much on DVDs lately. 3rd Rock could turn into a bit of a sticky wicket. I preordered to get the $5 Digital Coupon, but I am an RZ member (and I remembered to put my code in this time). Are the RZ deals in-store only? I used the free shipping coupon, so it isn't a big deal to return the one I ordered online (and forfeit the $5 digital coupon) and pick it up at the store for the RZ member price, but it would be nice not to have to. I just checked my order, and I can't even cancel, because they shipped it today.

* - Of course, DDD is not currently running a 20% off sale, and their prices are subject to change, but I find this is a decent way to judge if a deal is too good to pass up.

The online 3rd Rock $5 coupon offer ends Saturday. This ad runs on Sunday, so it's looks like there won't be a chance of combining the RZ deal and the digital coupon.

In the past, are the 'RZ Member Only' prices online as well?

I'll probably end up picking it up in store for that amount. Not a bad deal at all.

I realize that the ad runs Sunday, but their policy is that if a DVD is released at a lower price than the pre-order price, then one gets charged the lower price. The two things going against me are 1) The RZ price is probably in-store only, and 2) even if there is a way to get the RZ price online, they could argue that the RZ price isn't the actual release price, even though I am an RZ member and it is the price I would pay at release.

If (1) turns out to be incorrect, and there is a way to do it online, I could make a pretty good argument against (2). Most likely, though, I will just return it when it comes and buy it in-store when I buy Remington Steele. Since they already sent it, there is a good chance it could arrive by Tuesday.

You also have to deal with the "not to be combined with any other offer" language with the digital coupon (if this language in fact exists, which it probably does.) i would think the RZ price is an "other offer."

Isnt DVDafiocionado basically run by its members? i.e. new releases or releases not on their site are submitted by those who have those DVDs? So if no member knows this version is out of stock, then DVDAF wouldnt know either. Its not like they are a retailer and get the info directly from the sources, either.

I wasn't claiming that it was official information, but usually the info there is pretty up-to-date, often moreso than the information one can get from the manufacturers.

I doubt a bunch of fanboys have more information then the manufacturers themselves.
I doubt a bunch of fanboys have more information then the manufacturers themselves.
Again, you seem to assume that I am claiming something that I am not. I did not claim that the people who provide information to dvdaficionado know more than the manufacturers, merely that they are more forthcoming with information than many manufacturers are. And the term "fanboys" is inflammatory, how about "enthusiasts".

That 2 for $20 at BB is for once great. Lots of great titles, Garden State, Harold and Kumar, Usual Suspects, etc. I may look into that one.

Thanks TSD.

Edit: Oh, and I may finally get American Psycho since I've been going on a Bale binge lately with BBO and Netflix. I wish I could know if it were the KSE of it.

Oh and TSD, which Dune is that for $7.50? Is it the 1980s version of it or the Sci-Fi Channel version?

Thanks for the info. I guess I'll be waiting as well. I'm still waiting on a price drop for the original series which is still $99 here.

I'm thinking the Dune is the SciFi version since i believe they are releases a special edition or directors cut version in a couple months.
