EA Flash Deal: Dead Space 2

According to the EA Flash Deal facebook posting it appears Dead Space 2 will be a flash deal today. They are asking us if we are ready for it to go on sale.

UPDATE: Deal is not today but tomorrow. My apologies.

Tomorrow we are dropping 3 deals throughout the day for Dead Space 2. To unlock the first deal we need to get 3,000 likes of the “Your Mom’s Really Bad at Dead Space 2 Multiplayer” video before Friday at 11:30 AM PST. If we reach 3,000 likes the first deal will unlock at that time on Friday. (Thanks AVJTony831)

$25 is my price point for a single player game like this. The original is one of my all time favorites, but I can be patient for the right price.

The only PS3 version of dead space 2 at this time is the limited edition. All limited editions come with extraction. I guess they will at one point in the future make a "regular edition" that does not but I don't think so.

Oh, cool. I figured it was only the first batch released since I've been seeing the standard boxart on all the websites.
 
I don't know seems unlikely we'll get any deals unless they really lower the requirements later on. Unless they're starting it tonight no way they get 3,000 likes by 11:30. It took Mass Effect 2 hours to get half that many.

Yea same here, though that damn demo spoiled a major plot point which kinda ticked me off

So glad I passed on playing the demo. For games I'm excited about and know for certain I'm going to get I stay away from all videos, trailers and demos. I didn't know a single thing about Mass Effect 2 when I picked it up :D It was glorious
 
I never finished the first one, so do I need to finish the first one to get the idea behind the second one? Or can I just play the 2nd and not worry about it?

Considering how long it's been out for, wouldn't be surprised to see it at 30% off.

There are a few references that you'll pick up if you played through the first. But you should be fine. I played DS2 and had hell of a good time so I tried out the first. I probably wouldn't have died so much in the beginning of the second if I had played the first before though.

x-box version on amazon is 27% off as of this post
 
I was worried I might miss this deal while at work but now it looks like it won't happen till close to deadline if at all. Man 3k likes isfuckng insane.

Incidentily I did update the general thread with the info for what it's worth. It does seem like the one-off threads are more popular though.
 
where do you go to like it? I dont see a way to "like" on the ea flash deals site, youtube video of the thing they want you to like, or anywhere else. or do you just "like" the entire page?
 
Anybody knows what it means by 3 deals throughout the day? There will be 3 opportunities to get in on this?

There have been a few others that didn't make it. But there's plenty of time and word is getting around.
 
I rented both of the Dead Space games and finished them, absolutely loved them. If the discount is low enough I will be in.

700 more likes in the next 4 hours is doable. Wish they hadn't set the bar to insanely high. It's like they just want to tease us with the deal. I have to go to work right around the time this thing goes live. Gonna be really upset if we don't make it.
 
Yeah, it's not looking likely. Just not getting enough people in time. Still more than 3 hours most of the people have already liked. Pretty sure they set the bar like this on purpose.
 
Half tempted to make some fake facebook accounts to bolster the numbers but I'd have to make a couple hundred to make a significant impact. I agree with Felder, they surely set it high on purpose to be a tease. Probably will lower the number of likes needed for each of the next 2 promos but that doesn't help those of us that can't participate. Man EA is screwy sometimes.
 
i had 2 accounts so i liked it twice, even if it does happen i bet it will only be 40% off

Not to mention, I'm pretty sure people will be upset if they don't deliver anyways. I assume the are trying to have the first fail to build up work to really get a lot of people involved to try and unlock the second deal but I smell a huge backfire acoming if this isn't unlocked.

just curious.... on the eastore's website they have a promo price up. I wonder if the I assume 50 or 60 percent off will be off the promo price or off the regular price.
