I saw this on ShopGoodwill.com. 10 SNES carts (including Earthbound) were listed starting at $6. I made the first bid but was quickly outbid. ShopGoodwill.com is a great place to find deals. The best thing I got so far was a new/sealed Fire Emblem for GBA - won it for $10 shipped.

Anyways, here's the link to the Goodwill listing:

I actually already have Earthbound (one of my fave SNES games), so I guess I don't need another. Hopefully if someone wants it, a CAG can pick it up.

thanks, but giving out resources can be not so smart sometimes when your deals start to disappear when your fellow friends are bidding on the same items with you.

Wow, those are some of the worst prices/bids I've ever seen. I guess you'd have to get VERY lucky to win something at a decent price. Although I wouldn't mind if someone gave me $40 for an old dusty NES and SNES console only.

 Ha! Good one! 4-5 years ago it was a good place to find deals, but now ShopGoodwill.com is worse than ebay. You'll commonly see auctions of 20 crappy Atari or NES games end at $100+. Loose games/systems almost always sell higher on there than what you'd pay for them at Gamestop or EB.

The sad thing is that I'm in Grand Rapids and about half the video game listings are from Goodwill stores in my area (including the link to that auction you posted). Anything halfway decent gets put up on their auction site, so all the stores are lame now. Before they started doing that, I used to find soooo much good stuff at the local Goodwills. Now they're mostly filled with old lady clothes, religious books, and crappy VHS tapes.

Most likely it's returned merchandise from Target or some other retail store. It's just a write-off for them.

Well, just sharing as I figured someone might be interested in getting Earthbound. I think a cart only Earthbound typically goes for like $30 to $40 (not sure though, got mine for $20 YEARS ago) so thought maybe someone might get a good deal on this. Since I already have the game myself, that's why I shared it. I don't share auctions of items I want for myself when I'm the only bidder.

The first time I bid on something was in December of last year, and as I said I picked up a sealed Fire Emblem GBA for a winning bid of $6 (2 bids), with shipping was $10 total. I think that's a pretty good deal. If it is worst than EBay, well then I didn't know. When I found the listing, there was no bids so I was the first bidder. I haven't checked since I was out bid - so sorry if the price has become ridiculous. Guess I was just surprised to see an Earthbound cart at Goodwill so thought I'd post it.

Er... guess it went for more than I expected. Although since there was 10 carts, you can think of it as $5 a cart. I know Earthbound was the most notable title in the bunch, but hey Donkey Kong Country was in there too.

Man, I hate posting a useless thread. I tried. :whistle2:|

And the Mask. I was being sarcastic; that game was sweet as hell. Regardless, Earthbound is worth $50 no matter how you look at it.

Yeah. Earthbound really is hard just to find really nowadays. And its so much fun. Its probably the RPG I've replayed more than any other after I've beated it just because I like the story so much. I hope they do a deluxe remake on GBA for USA (like they've done with other franchises - Dragon Warrior, Final Fantasy, Tales of Phantasia, etc...) some day. I'd be all over that!

They have already released Mother 1 + 2 for the GBA, it just hasn't come stateside.

Yeah, I knew about that. I think they've had that one for a bit. That's the one I'm waiting for to be translated to USA - but I don't really expect it will. :whistle2:?

You could always take up Japanese.

I could, but Oriental languages seem really complicated to read with all the symbols and all. Plus I'm not sure if I'm hardcore enough to learn the language just to play some games. I already have Earthbound for SNES anyways, and the NES game has been translated online.
