IMPORTANT NOTE: some of the deals do not appear on the ad scan. A lot of them are listed on the back of the flyer coupon. For example Custom Robo for $9.99 is not listed anywhere on the ad scan, but its on the backside of the section that says "Hot Offers" and has a picture of the two pokemon videos and F-zero GBA.
my eb has custom robo for 19.99 :(
Mine did too, but after I pointed out the GC Custom Robo $9.99 ad in their store handout, they overrode the register to reduce the price by $10 for me. :D

Check out Deux Ex: The invisible war, it went down from 4.99 to 1.99 !!!

I have to get that and Syphon filter. Now i need a cheap used game for free shipping.

That's the PC version, for those wondering about it.

This is why I love EBgames.com (the site specifically). I placed an order for:

Deus Ex 2 (at $5, oh well)
Monopoly Tycoon
Shadow of Destiny ($3 woot)
2 GC controller extension cables

I got everything except Deus Ex 2 in TWO DAYS... Fed Ex'd. With free SAVER shipping. I expect Deus Ex will come in tomorrow, but damn that was fast!

I am thinking of trading my Gameboy SP and three GBA games in for the $50 trade deal.

I just don't know what 3 games that aren't on the exclusion list. The GBA SP is my sons (don't worry I bought him a new blue one cause his is getting old), and I haven't kept up with what gameboy games they will take.

Any info is appreciated, plus if anyone knows of cheap games I can pick-up somewhere as I don't know if my son has three games he wants to give up.

Thanks

is there a list of EB's exchange deals and prices somewhere? i have some crappy games i want to dump for some money......or maybe if i could trade them and my GBA Advance in for an SP that would be nice (and if gamestop has a deal like that too?).

If you don't feel too bad about saving another $3, even though they upgraded your shipping...then give them a call! I was going to buy it again for $2 and then return the first one I ordered in-store, but with that limit of 1 per person I couldn't. So I called EB and they said that since the order was so recent that they'd give it to me for $1.99 on the old order!

Just take a pile of them in. You know the typical no-sports titles rule applies, I would imagine. Depending on the game, you may be able to get more here in the trading section for some of the games.

I got some of these games in-store at the prices listed like Manhunt at $7.99. I didn't even try to price match they were already priced that way along w/ XII. Unreal II, May Payne, 2, and a few others were $9.99. And I also picked up JSRF for $2.99 and Agressive Inline for $4.99.

Yep, I was at EB a few days ago and all the $7.99 and $9.99 games on the website were priced the same in-store.

I was very happy that they upgraded my shipping. Ironically on Shadow of Destiny, I was kicking myself that it sold out in my Cart a week earlier, then it came back at $3. The same thing happened to Deus Ex: IW a couple days later.

Funny thing is, I just realized that my system is barely around the minimum spec for the game, so I might end up waiting another couple years to play it anyway... which is pretty typical looking at the various unopened games stashed around in my bedroom. I lost track of the years since I bought The Last Express before I finally opened and beat it a month ago.

Well, it'll be 4 years this summer on this current comp, maybe it's time I upgraded to a better one...

Picked up:

1080 Avalanche
Final Fantasy X-2
Hot Shots Golf Fore
Deus Ex Invisible War
F-Zero GP Legend

They were out of Custom Robo and Commandos 3, but I wasn't going to kill them for not having them.

That's just the point, they are my sons games and he really doesn't want to get rid of any. I was mostly looking for known accepted games that I can pick-up on the cheap.

Here's something that I realized today that makes it very easy to get enough for the $25 voucher when you buy $100 in preowned stuff.

DBZ Sagas for GC sells for $36.99 used and with the current promos it trades in at $30.

3 x $36.99 - 10% edge discount = $99.87 spent + $25 giftcard
Trade in 3 copies = $90 back

So even though you're trading them in for slightly less than you paid for them, you still come out ahead.

I had already bought a little over $30 in stuff, so I picked up 2 copies and traded them back in to bump me up to $100.

YMMV based on whether or not stores near you have any preowned copies in stock.

I'm almost 100% sure that there is no exclusion list for GBA games, since almost all of them are above ten bucks in price. I went in a few months ago with Castlevania: COTM (yeah I know it's great, I just didn't take to it) and Advance Wars (same, I just didn't get the hang of it) and both were nonexcluded for a deal I did.

Excuse me sir....but if you didn't take to COTM and Advance Wars...What exactly do you play on your GBA/SP....or was that traded in as well.

it was posted awhile back in this thread u need to buy hot shots golf and omega strain on separate receipts in the store to get 40.00 back in vouchers. However, I purchased both games online w/separate receipts and separate transactions… If no one has an idea how this’ll work, I’ll just call up the csr @ ebgames…thanks

EDIT: nevermind, it says "one per person, per address"
Also yea watch out for the insurance thing.. ironically I should have just added that extra dollar and replace my Custom Robo right now... The cashier at the EB I went to, she just puts the insurance on and then asked me so I just asked her to take it out.
this happened to me last night and i didn't catch it until well after i left and got home. but instead of even asking (like they're supposed to), the dude didn't even bother to say a thing and just added it on without my permission. and on top of that, he tried to charge me full price for HSGF. any chance of me getting that guy fired for being deceitful to a customer? maybe it's just me, but he just comes off as a total douchebag in general every time i go in.

getting my cousin to help me get me f'n money back, though, since he's going there on monday.

i just got a call from EB saying there was something wrong the pricing of my order....i just checked and Syphon Filter went up to $20, Commandos 3 to $5.99 (from 2.99), and Taiko drum master to $40 from $30. did they really "misprice" these games? is there anything i can do since i bought them at the advertised prices? i know i cant get away with Syphon Filter omega since it was in the flyer for $20...but they should really be more careful with setting the online prices.

Any limit on the number of rebates for Hot Shots and Syhpon Filter per address? I know it says limit one per person but what about household?

At one of the stores near me, the manager actually suggests that they pull that crap with putting the guarantees on the charge without asking the customers whether they want them or not. I suppose they have to sell a certain amount in order to keep their jobs, but I don't really give a damn about that. Now, when I go in there, I tell them I'm not paying for anything but the game, regardless of what they try to do. Most people don't look at what they're being charged for, but then again, I'm not most people...

The online prices are all still low, at the moment. Are other people getting the shaft and being told that there were "pricing errors"? I swear, if I get a call telling me that they won't sell me games listed at $2 for $2, I'll verbally rip the fool on the other end of the line a new...hole of some sort.

Did you actually talk to them or did they leave a voice message? If you just got a voice message and didn't talk to them, my guess is that something went wrong on their end and they just wanted to confirm your order.

I hate posts like these, just because the game is praised doesn't mean everybody will like them or have time for them. Why is that hard to accept?

Can someone give me an answer about Tenchu because as it stands I see it NOWHERE on EB's site and it's still listed on CAG as being there for $10. Please take the link down or cross it out since I think it's permanently gone. :whistle2:(
I hate posts like these, just because the game is praised doesn't mean everybody will like them or have time for them. Why is that hard to accept?
Well, first off, the GBA is not like other systems that have a huge variety of good to great games. The GBA is a stellar system but the highlights of the system are quite definitive. The Castlevania series and AW/FE are some of the principle reasons to get the system to begin with, albeit for the Nintendo 1st party games. Most of the other games are trivially enjoyable games, bad ports, or awful platformers.

AW/FE are niche, regardless if they were the only games availible the audience for the series is limited at best here. Same deal with Castlevania, only certain types of players still like them today.
Holy shit! Taiko is $19.99 new right now! Go! Go! Go!
Thanks for the heads-up! Just put in an order for 2. (Guess I'll be returning the one that I ordered at $29.99 in-store when it comes)

No problem. I ordered two as well. I figure paying $20 is worth it for the home drums alone since I'm sure they work with the Japanese version as well which is what I'm REALLY interested. Too bad Taiko didn't take off at home here since the game is HUGE in Japan and quite fun when I played it at an arcade there.

Broke it out into the solo post just for this price update.

The Red Octane drums alone are $40, well worth buying a spare copy for the extra drum.

Wow thanks for the info there Shrike. I didn't know the drum itself was so expensive. Does anyone know a person that's made an arcade style Taiko drum just for their import or American PS2 copy? If so I'd LOVE to see a pic.

I'm horribly sorry for asking this question, because I'm sure it's been asked and answered at least 10 times in this thread, but...

Does EB accept copies of UPCs for the Syphon Filter rebate?

I know, I know...but an yes/no answer would be appreciated.

Thanks

Thanks Tenzor and StealthySeal! You guys saved my a ton of cash, and allowed me to get some games that I normally wouldn't have touched for a long timr, or even hear about. That would be because knowing my luck, i wouldn't go to an EB store or look at EB's site until my free days were over.

So far I bought:

1080˚ Avalanche---All the EB within a 30+ mile radius of me were out of stock, but it reminded me that my local Toys R Us would get these in on and off for about $12, and lukily CC let me price match the in store price, thus getting me it for 10% less. :)

BreakDown---Factory sealed.

Custom Robo---Got it price matched at Circuit City. :)

Dai Senryaku---Never heard of this series, just took a very brief look at GameSpots review, and just knew I had to get this, since I am a big fan of RTS/SRTS games.

Final Fantasy X-2---I price matched this at Circuit City. I have never played a Final Fantasy game other then Crystal Chronicles for the GameCube(which was good), and heard this one was "not as good" as some of the other PS2 FF's, but I figured it would probably be worth only $10 right?

I've sent in rebates without the UPC, with the original UPC, and copies of the UPC, and never had one get rejected.

So, I'd say the answer is yes.

Just checked EB by me to get Custom Robo for $9.99, and was told that the sale for Custom Robo ended yesterday and it was back to $39.99 or used for $17.99. I found it odd for the sale that seemed like it should run until May 1st to end on a random Tuesday, so I checked another one nearby and they didn't have any copies in stock but also told me that the sale for that was over, even though the store was covered with Spring Sale tags. I did however pick up Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy for $12.99 and P.N. 03 for $4.99 both new (though open display copies). P.N. 03 rang up for like $20.00 but I guess it was part of the sale that ended yesterday with Custom Robo and they still had it left over and gave it to me for the 5 bucks. Anyways, good luck to anyone else who stalled trying to pick up the Custom Robo deal.

Some would rather give up the rebate than deface their games . . . some don't care at all . . . I'm inbetween.

What I do is copy the insert, then cut out the UPC, and tape in the copy.

That way, I send in the original to increase chances of getting the deal. And my game doesn't have a hole in the space. If I trade in the game, they can scan my taped in copy of the UPC to speed up the transaction.

The only time that I sent in a copy of the UPC was when they had $20 back on NeoContra . . . the art is two sided that insert and very cool. I got the voucher with the copy.

For Syphon Filter, I sent in the UPC off of the slipcover over the package, since they're the same UPC. Doesn't the insert in any way.

There is in fact an exclusion list, but it is RATHER small. I believe when I left the company (in January) the list totaled 30 games. Mostly launch titles. Anyway, hope that helps someone.

Sorry if this was covered earlier in the thread, but how do I go about obtaining the $25 gift voucher, now that I've purchased $100 in pre-owned games? I have one receipt with Ultimate Brain Games, one with Psi-Ops and WarioWare, and one with Monkey Ball Deluxe and Gitaroo Man (yup!). I have that advertisement with that form you can fill out. So now what? Do I tear out the form, fill it out, and put it in an envelope with the receipts? Can I use copies of the receipts? Do I need UPC's from the games I got or anything like that? Sorry for all the questions, I've just never done a voucher thing before and I want to make sure I do this right.

Anyone know what happened to Dai Senryaku? It's on sale through 5/1, but it's not even in their system anymore. Crap!

My experience in-store for the vouchers has been as follows:

If the rebate form doesn't mention including a UPC, i don't include it.

I just circle the requirements with a red pen. In the instance of the forms for the FAV (Free After Voucher) games, they just ask for the original receipt, and that's all i send.

With any mail-in rebates and such I only include what it asks.

This has been my experience.
