Ebay refer a friend program

No, I don't want any email addresses. I was thinking of doing this through myself.

If I create 5 more comcast accounts and 5 more yahoo/gmail/hotmail/whatever free email service accounts, I could make 10 more eBay IDs using my wife, kids and random family members.

Then, each of the new eBay IDs could sell me a bag of crap for $0.01 on a cash and carry basis.

The new eBay IDs would owe eBay nothing and I'd have $50 in free eBay fees.

Does all of this sound sleazy yet legit?
 
FoC, it isn't what eBay wants out of this promotion you and I both know it. They're hoping to bring new blood to the auction, meaning more sales and more money for them (not initially, but once the New Sellers see how ebay works).


What you're considering sounds more like a FW scheme, I'll be honest. Of course it's your perogative. I'm assuming eBay has some sort of safetys to prevent this from being too prevelant. ...like CC numbers. Don't they require a Credit Card number for each new account?

Yeah, it's pretty sleazy.

I just signed up my secondary email address to test for some safety mechanism. The account was activated without requesting CC information.

I almost listed one of my GBA games.

NOTHING was stopping me.

EDIT: It was HARDER to close my account than to open it. Damn, huh?

Start to finish of creating the account with an email address I had laying around took 5 minutes. 2 of those minutes were resetting the password to the email account since I didn't remember the password.

There was one form to file out, one email with a confirmation code and email link and nothing stopping me from relisting my Boktai.

Start to finish of closing the account is taking 14 days. (I have about 13 days and 23 hours or so to go at this point.)

I have to find the link to close the account in their help (not hard to find, but I had to search help), there was a long warning about how this is irreversible, a page to select why you're closing the account, a page to select the subreason why you're closing the account and a final (Are you really, really sure you want to close this account) confirmation page. Then, the waiting of 14 days of course.

'NO!! how many ways do I have to say it? please, leave me alone!!'
